#1 Lender City National Bank BEST Service & Options for Hone Investments!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND City National Bank (TRUSTWORTHY) for your home buying or refinancing experience! I am delighted to inform potential clients of the EXTRAORDINARY SERVICE provided by a DYNAMIC TEAM of representatives (listed below) of City National Bank. I want to give an abundance of appreciation to all TEAM MEMBERS for an OUTSTANDING, PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, EFFICIENT, COURTEOUS, ATTENTIVE & CARING job well done. The team whom assisted me with my refinancing most definitely had gone above & beyond their call of duties! My previous lender Amerifund Home Loans (horrible) pressured me into a FHA with Mortgage Premium Insurance $480.06 monthly which was a waste of money you cannot write off. Paul Marshall never gave up on getting me out of the FHA into a Conventional Loan without Mortgage Premium Insurance, lower payment & interest rate! Honestly Paul Marshall saved me from distress, heartache & pain which was inflicted on me by a worthless money hungry lender Brad Rice CEO of Amerifund Home Loans. City National Bank is #1 in the UNIVERSE!

A Round of Applause & Standing Ovation to a MAGNIFICENT TEAM 🙏❤️ 👏

After the ESSA–CNB merger, my debit card was shut off without notice in early December. CNB mailed the replacement to an old address despite my address being updated, then failed to issue a new card I still have not received it and it has been almost 30 days. I spent the entire holiday season without access to my money.

Four calls, hour-long hold times, rude staff, and I was even threatened with a hang-up for sounding frustrated. CNB now refuses to give me information unless I remember a “security word” from 30 years ago, even after verifying my SSN and DOB.

This is unacceptable and dangerous banking behavior. I am leaving after 30 years. Do not bank here.

They’ve left me no choice, but to file an official complaint with CFPB, which I will be doing immediately

CNB has cratered after RBC acquisition

CNB has cratered after RBC acquisition

Had a great 15 year mortgage and retail relationship with CNB up until the RBC acquisition (Canadians should be barred from acquiring US firms). They laid off all the good experienced people and replaced with very green, low critical thinking 3rd worlders and even their customer service line in US is subpar compared to India or Philippine counter parts. AVOID CNB at all costs!!!

City National Bank

City National Bank used to be an excellent bank, however since the take over/merger with The Royal Bank of Canada (2015 I believe), the bank has gone from hero to zero. The customer Service which used to be impeccable has reached the bottom of the barrel. The charges per month, (which you were happy to pay due to the service), are now none existent, you can't get a hold of anybody and nobody calls you back. If you question anything, they blame it on the customer. The bank is an absolute joke, to say the least. What was a relationship built on trust and integrity is now nothing but a dwindling one sided squeeze. Put your money elsewhere like many others are doing.

I was lucky that I was not a customer…

I was lucky that I was not a customer of this worst bank. I was just a member of the so-called "City National Advisory Board" from November 28, 2020 up until I was kicked out unexpectedly without a proper explanation. What this Board does is testing some new ideas/concepts that CNB will serve its customers. This is not the first Board I was invited. I remembered I was a member of Citi Bank Advisory Board for almost 5 years. Each month, their reward for each member, besides any contests, were $50. On the contrast, CNB Advisory Board only rewarded $15/month for its member. And when Citi Bank decided to close the Board, they informed each member at least two month in advance and by the end of the closing date, they rewarded each member $200. This CNB was not even compared to how generous and professional Citi Bank was. They cut members at any time without notice and/or explanation. Even worst, when it was time to redeem monthly reward, it was when they cut member(s). How dirty it was! $15 monthly reward is not that big compared to my 7-figure yearly salary, except for the fact that I did this to kill my boredoms and at the same time to earn some monies for my designated charity. I was not their official customer and they treated me that bad. So, I complete understand how they treat their real customers. Obviously what I and other members did in the Advisory Board did not translate well on how they really treat their real customers days in days out. I did not know if this is a racial thing or not as I am an Asian-American and more importantly a disabled U.S. Army veteran of OIF and OEF eras, but what they did was unprofessional and unacceptable. CNB, let put your shoes into mine (and many other members'), how would you feel when you were cut off unexpectedly without proper explanation? I have tried to send emails to help desk and even to Support for CNB Advisory Board members, but to no avail. They kept their silence and hurtful act. If you keep serving your customers that worst like this, sooner or later, you will go bankruptcy.

If you read this review, please do not do business with CNB. Please find better bank or a local credit union where they treat you with great respect and professionalism.

Many thanks.

This bank uses a deceptive range when assessing credit scores for loans. Will tell you some mumbo jumbo about their using a "different" range than what your credit score is based on. This enables them to make it appear you have a lower credit score, hence allowing them to charge a higher APR. Very shady technique... Do not recommend using them for any loan.

ABSOLUTE WORST BUSINESS BANK

ABSOLUTE WORST BUSINESS BANK! Stay away or CLOSE your account. Bank is suing me personally for a business loan. They misrepresented their application by adding personal liability without disclosing it. Their rep constantly assured me that the loan was strictly a business loan. CNB required that I close another business account to qualify for their loan. My small business was forced to close and now I’m left personally liable for $100k and legal fees to defend myself. BUYER BEWARE

This institution the worst in the banking business. I transferred money into my account, city national never posted the transaction, leaving me with negative balance. I showed on my phone app the transfer. Posted the transaction leaving me with a negative balance and overdraft fees. Because of their unprofessional staff and poor service think I going to pay $100 overdraft when city National made the mistake. This bank needs to be investigated

Fantastic Bank and Great for Small Business Loans

Our company at the end of 2019 realized that BofA was not able to help with business loans or credit since we are a small business. I opened up a City National Bank personal and Business Acc in 2019 and have been very impressed with the Ontario, Ca branch. They are very friendly and know me by name even though I don't come in often. In April 2020, I applied for a PPP SBA loan and in less than a month it was approved and founded! My Personal contact Juan guided me through the process, returned all my emails in hours, and is always fantastic to speak with. He even called me to tell me my loan was funded. I can't say how appreciative I am for his service and CNB! Some of my other small business friends at larger retail banks are still not approved with the SBA loan I received. Thank you again so much City National Bank! I am staying with you for life!
