Lousy or no delivery service

I chose Co-op for ethical reasons, because of their support for Palestine and not Israel. This was my first order, a substantial bulk of food that I wouldn't assume to be very transportable by pushbike - I was told the driver had set off on pushbike when I rang them to track it when the order never came and there was no further email or update on the website. I was told it was an Uber or Deliveroo service, and then I was told the couriers had declined the order because the radius was not in a reachable area. This made no sense, they get the post code when the order is being submitted. I asked from which Co-op was it dispatched. First I was given an address of a Co-op far out, and then given my local Co-op's address (a 15 minute walk from me). He did not even know which one. I am shy of ordering a home delivery from Co-op again.

Plastic baked inside Co-op Soft White Bun. No response in 2 month

Purchased Co-op Soft White Buns on 26 July 2025. While eating one I bit into a hard black plastic piece that was baked inside the bun, not on the surface. It caused dental pain and aggravated an existing filling.

I reported it to Co-op the same day, sent the product, packaging, and receipt as requested, and have been chasing ever since. Despite formal escalation and even the Food Standards Agency copying Co-op into correspondence, I’ve had no update or apology after two months.

This is a serious food-safety issue, and I’ve now referred it to Environmental Health and Trading Standards. I’m appalled at the lack of response from a retailer of this size.

Took money for goods not received still not returned it

Took £55 from my account for home delivery as I am unwell. Hours later had £11 worth of food delivered and told they won't give me the rest of my money back for 7-10 days. Why the delay? They took it quick enough, for food the wasn't available. Even an extra £5 incase they substituted anything. Getting it 4 hours late was nothing compared to the cheek of keeping my money for an extra 7 to 10 days. Would not home shop with these again. Know if no other supermarket that does this.

False advertising

I used the auto teller cash machine at the co op store to withdraw some cash as it advertised fee free. I reluctantly accepted that my bank was going to charge me £3.99. However my bank statement showed £6.99. A
total rip-off and false advertising.

Very good 5* Kelsall Co op

I lived in Kelsall , Cheshire for a year and regularly shopped at the Co op , I moved away and a couple Saturdays ago I went back. It was lovely to be remembered and greeted by the lovely lady on the checkout . All the staff young and older were always friendly and helpful running the very busy Post Office as well as the shop . There is quite an elderly population in Kelsall and surrounding area and the staff show care and patience to all . Pleasure to shop here , thank you all.

I placed an order at 10.15am for…

I placed an order at 10.15am for delivery between 11 and 12... AM
Called up to speak to an advisor who said a driver had been assigned, an hour half later still no order, called up to cancel order at 3.00pm.
The orders are usually waiting on a counter for a driver to collect, i ordered chicken and dairy so no thanks.
Terrible service

How can they get away with pricing…

How can they get away with pricing almost everything up to 50p more than other shops? i.e. Ginger biscuits £2.10 - other places they're £1.60, yeo natural yoghurts £1 other places 80p, used to be better value a few years ago but now sadly a total rip off, poor quality fresh fish and meat too that's off and stinks rotten.

Bought 2 meal deals and several other items on 30th July. .
Supposedly got discounts on meal deals. Got home and added up all items. I’d been overcharged by 80p. Went back to shop. Spoke to 2 different managers after having waited 10-15 minutes. Was grudgingly given 80 p. Came home, phoned co.op. I wanted CEO email but was told they couldn’t give me it. She earn a fortune but thought co op was owned by customers? It’s not the first time I’ve been overcharged. I will no longer shop at the co op. Unfortunately can’t give 0 stars.

Coop visit - Experience

Visited my local, although it very convenient in location, I find the prices very high at the Coop.
I have found myself driving to other shops to get the same products for nearly half the price. Would use the Coop more if their prices were competitive

this store is just plain thieving
Introducing a discount card is theft, they raised prices to give a discount, i.e. the normal price / but they stole your personal data / I do not agree to this, I will never buy anything in this store and I encourage everyone to do the same
in some stores they put their junk at a higher price in places where there is a promotion
Older people often make the mistake of thinking they are buying something cheap, but it is written in small letters that it is only for those who have a Nazi card
I encourage every homeless thief to rob thieves
I will definitely never buy anything again
Even though the service is very nice, I won't let myself be robbed

Zero customer service

Unfortunately, my visit last Friday 18th July 2025 just before closing time left me quite disappointed. I popped in at around 10:55pm to grab just two small items, fully aware that the store was closing at 11pm and doing my best to be quick and respectful of the staff’s time.

However, an older male staff member began shouting "3 minutes!" at me across the store—once when I was still shopping, and again when I approached the till. He followed me closely, which felt very uncomfortable and uncalled for. I didn’t respond at the time, but I found his behaviour aggressive and unprofessional. I understand the stress of closing time, but there are far better ways to communicate with customers.

As a paying customer, I expect to be treated with respect, not shouted at. This experience felt more like harassment than helpfulness. I truly think the team here could benefit from customer service training—especially around communication and tone. It’s not okay to make customers feel rushed or unwelcome, especially when they’re being considerate.

I hope this feedback helps improve things moving forward.

Reported an issue with finding thick…

Reported an issue with finding thick string in two bread rolls, one piece over 6inches in length, over three months ago now.
Apart from getting a £2 gift card which only covered the price of the rolls, I have heard nothing.
I am disgusted that I had no apology or outcome from the suppliers as to how the string had got baked into the rolls
