This company is an absolutely joke and disgrace, exploiting small couriers and self employed drivers and basically forcing them to do jobs for almost free of charge. This is called modern slavery. They have no ethics , respect to couriers and very cheeky approach towards pay rates, hermes handballs , proper job descriptions, last minute change of routes without price renegotiation etc the list can go on trust me. They've got plenty of complaints on Courier Exchange records of same nature, so if you are self employed courier driver avoid as much as you can working for them

This company sells tons of Hermes jobs on Couriers Exchange without proper description about hours of handballing evolved and never pay the handball charge claiming its a waiting time, but when it comes to payment they wont pay you waiting time either and will give you tons of excuses like the waiting time was approved at one end and not at another etc. basically taking a laugh out of you. So if you are not familiar with Hermes locations across the country you will end up with 6 hours job for £54!!!! Be aware . They also change backload night jobs last minute after 2 hours on site to totally opposite direction run with double mileage, without office approval , price negotiation, expecting you to deliver with the same price per mile. When challenged they will only force you to deliver night Hermes weekend run at their preferred rate, neither willing to pay the night runs, nor agreeing to free cancellation fees, basically taking a mickey out of you. Staff is another story , always rude when it comes to questioning them about jobs description, change of route without notification, pay for night runs and generally pay for invoices of jobs completed. If you challenge the job description etc they will never talk to you nicely. No respect to couriers they subcontract. Finally a cherry on the top ALWAYS always you will have problem with payment , they either wont pay you and you'll have to chase them weeks or months , or if they pay - they'll pay very late despite their 45 days end of month payments terms like 2 months were not enough for them to pay for the job completed. This company is a big joke with no ethics and no respect towards subcontractors who they resell jobs via Courier Exchange platform.

p,s with regards to your reponce - for you infornation we have refused to carry the job on your proposed pay rates and offered you return to depo with no cancellation fees as the pay rates offered were way too low to cover even the fuel expenses, however you haven't agreed to that!!!!!!! you forced us to carry goods on your behalf full van hermes load with 2 hours handballing!!!! its called modern slavery so that you now as this is exactly how you treat self employed drivers from CX. you are an absolute joke

I should point out the stars are not for my work experience with Crown overall because I lost a lot at the beginning, but I appreciate the efforts ro make things better, and we got there.

I’m an independent self-employed courier. I complete work for Crown and several other clients throughout any given week. The work I complete through Crown is consistent and steady. Their rates of pay are competitive, albeit could be better in comparison to my other clients. I have a good working relationship with the Crown team, and in particular a lady named Nina Pagano who onboarded my company and is very proactive in helping me with any issue that might arise.

The only bad thing about working for crown sds is that getting paid is always the wrong amount,I’ve tried talking to different people to get it sorted out but in the end I end up speaking to Nina who always tries to help you out,it’s a shame I always seem to end up asking her when she is more customer service and hr department,it’s a shame that you end up speaking to someone who is busy doing a lot of other things

Working for Crown has been excellent. The service and timely response to issue is excellent. Nina P and the team are very efficient and always aim to keep me up to date with any changes.

Nina is very helpful and polite understanding excellent customer service skills and always willing to help with any questions or queries even if they aren't in her territorial boundaries. Nina make you feel very relaxed and confident enough to talk with because she's always encouraging and assuring almost all the time you happen to have a chance to talk to her, you always be guaranteed a great and smooth working environment and working day. I've been greatfull to be working with her, and Crown Couriers must be very fortunate to have her in their office

So far so good, I have all reasons to give excellent in this review.
What most important to me is the two-way communication system which is perfect in the company. For instance, when something is not right, you call to complain, then the company's body react to your complaint immediately and gets the problem solved to your satisfaction, that's what I call two-way communication. Likewise, some individuals within the company are not just humanly kind, but, treats workers with utmost respect and empathy. I sincerely admire this kind gestures.

I don`t know about the company but i can vouch that if you need something sorted then get in touch with Mitchell Seagers.This guy is a star,problem solver even if it`s not an issue that has to do with his department.

Please any serious minded driver should avoid this company cos it is a total waste of time. They promise £200 a day. They have no jobs at all. When they gave me a job to Peterborough to Bedford they gave me £27.77 after driving 28 miles each on the the job. It’s a ripoff company serious minded drivers please avoid.

From a self employed courier view point.
Was rang up by crown contol to do three jobs all individually paid. Invoice arrived only paid for two. Questioned it they said two deliveries were on the same route. I pointed out that i was told id be paid for all three. Responsd was look at t&cs. Also now been taken off their courier list lol.
Be careful when dealing with them !

First of all I must say how pleasant it was to deal with the the staff at CC, they were clear and precise and seemed very happy in their jobs.
They advertise that they pay 0.84p per mile loaded on nights and 0.89p days,over the past few weeks I have done 3 jobs and not one of them paid what they said in the job description,CC Hermes contract paid less than £100 to drive to Nuneaton empty then up to Liverpool loaded and home empty, 9 hours all in all then take out your fuel, its not worth it.
I then done a job for ABB in Coleshill ,I planned the route the best possible way ,I drove 281 miles ,used about £50 in diesel only to be told I would be paid £140, I was not impressed , when I questioned the figure, they told me its what ABB pay ,its a pity they did not tell me before I started that particular job ,the only thing they told me was, it pays a minimum of £140, they seem to forget that you have to pay for your vehicle , maintenance and fuel etc etc, you will not be in the job very long if they are paying these sort of figures.
But again on a positive note the people at CC were great to deal with.

This company advertises part of their work on the platform the courier exchange eg advertises an a 2 b job to the lowest bid , then they expect at short notice that the driver or bid winner has full ppi which of course we had , then they’re customer complains we don’t have goggles on . They then seek to ruin our business by giving bad feedback . Don’t give them work as they profiteer by putting your jobs up for auction to the lowest bid , then expect at short notice you have goggles on for collection . Cx Number 123134 bad feed back given
