Excellent support and guidance from the instructor. Left feeling more confident about towing my caravan

Awful experience avoid in all circumstances.

My father passed away on Easter Sunday. Rang diamond the day after which went onto voicemail which is fair enough (as it was a bank holiday Monday). Still I left a voicemail explaining the situation and asked under the circumstances if I could reschedule my test what was booked for the Wednesday. I left this voicemail as it was a time sensitive matter and I thought it best to ring and explain everything genuinely (especially as it even says to ring them in a email I have from them).

Long story short, he ignored or deleted this voicemail. When I rang yet again on a non bank holiday a few times the phone just rang and rang with no further option to leave a further voicemail. Funnily enough I failed the test what I tried to cancel due to being in the wrong mindset understandably, but I tried anyway as did not want to throw away £390 down the toilet.

When I rang Alec a few days after and explained my calls and unanswered voicemail he was less than helpful and rude. He admitted he was in work when I rang and he blamed their phone company saying there was no call or voicemail showing his end. He specifically tried to put the blame on me then, stating I should have emailed and what do you want me to do about it?

I was speechless for a minute, then I said what can or will you do about it, thought maybe a discount on another test or a genuine apology at a minimum. He wouldn’t and didn’t do a thing, not so much as an apology as it wasn’t his fault it was the “phone companies”.

I had to wait 6 weeks for my test, there were many people who would have snapped up my exam slot, but were never offered it. But that’s not their fault. When I was in the right mindset after the funeral (with no further training) I retook the test and past with one minor.

P.S. One of the trainers didn’t sign the pass certificate for one of the lads, so when they came in to do their test they was sent home as the trainer wasn’t in that day so no one would sign it. Vehicles they have always have at least one light on or are being worked on. The track down diamond is also that bumpy and bad the examiner even put a formal complaint in about it judging in not appropriate to drive on.

Would love to be called by someone other than Alec about this. Taking them to small claims court.

Please do yourself a favour and go with another drivers school.

"A very helpful team, it was a pleasure working with this company. However, they could really use fully functional trucks for the driving exam. It is not fair for a student taking the test to face extra pressure from warning lights on the dashboard or having to press 'OK' just to see the speedometer. Other than that, I highly recommend them.

Great team with first class training being delivered. Would recommend the company.

I really couldn’t speak more highly about diamond training. Both Paul and Simon were absolutely lovely. I’m especially grateful to Paul who trained me as he was so so patient and he really does know his stuff. Without paul, I wouldn’t have passed first time. I would highly recommend anyone going over to them and doing their training there.
