Video Doctor appointment in 15mins
My own surgery was full no appointment's that day, so I booked an appointment with "doctor care anywhere" within 15mins I was talking to a doctor on video call. You can't get a quicker appointment than that. My prescription was sent to me i took it to my local chemist and 30 mins later I had my medication.

It is an awful experience
It is an awful experience. The doctor is Dr A Afzal which is so unhelpful. She asked so many questions and then told me the time is up and asked me to see another doctor because she could not do it. She seems to end the session in a rush and tries to push me to another doctor because she does not like the case. Very awful experience with so many excuses.

Shockingly poor communication
Shockingly poor communication. Appointment booked, cancelled with no explanation. Called the call centre as instructed on the app. Told it was an IT glitch and the GP couldn't call as a result. Fine. Annoying but it happens. Booked another gp for a later time, that one also comes and goes (the only way you know is to sit and wait for an email to say cancelled.
Called call centre again, this time apparently there is a problem with my account. Asked what the problem was, told they couldn't say but apparently now fixed. Well someone isn't being truthful are they. Either the first or second call centre member of staff. Will now have to attempt a third time but I dont have the energy for it. It should be a smooth easy process, it's anything but.

Really useful service but don't opt to get Prescription delivered
It's a really useful service included in my healthcare plan and it's easy to book an audio or video call with a GP, even at weekends, with a range of appointments and a choice of male or female Doctor available, according to your preference.
I've used the service a few times and there has been the occasional technical glitch, or the GP has been running late, but they always phone and you can have a telephone call as a backup. In my experience, the GPs are very knowledgeable and reassuring and able to answer any questions that I've had.
My one criticism is that the prescription service isn't very joined up. You can have the prescription sent electronically to your local pharmacist, but that isn't always convenient, especially for those that work during working hours during the week, when pharmacies are open (i.e. those most likely to have a healthcare plan and need to use the service!), so I opted to have my prescription delivered, thinking it would be a next day service. The information sent in emails and on the site is inconsistent, with the FAQs saying you'll receive a link to make payment and arrange delivery (making it sound automated and more or less immediate) and the prescription email itself saying someone will be in touch via phone... It turns out that it takes 2-3 days for the "partner" to get in touch (I actually received an SMS and an email 2 days after my appointment) and a further 2 working days for the prescription to be delivered. Meanwhile, once you've opted for delivery, you lose the ability to print the prescription out or take it to a physical pharmacy. Fortunately, my prescription wasn't medically urgent, but it's only natural to want to get treatment as soon as possible after it's been prescribed, so I ended up looking online and it turned out I could get the medication I was prescribed delivered next-day OTC, without a prescription and for a bit cheaper than the "partner" eventually quoted... I would therefore recommend looking around before requesting the prescription and taking it to a pharmacy yourself if you're in a hurry.
Otherwise, would definitely recommend the service

Fabulous, professional service
Failed to get adequate or timely response from 111 service so used Doctor Care Anywhere for the first time. What a fabulous experience ! Easy booking on the App, choice of times and clinicians all within 15 minutes of being on the app, the ANP I had was brilliant and professional. Email prescription immediately meaning I had the necessary antibiotics about 90 minutes after first opening the App. Makes me wonder why I would ever use my overworked NHS Doctors practice ever again ?

The simplicity of making an appointment, any time of the day, particularly at a time of vulnerability makes the service so valuable. The doctors are personable and thorough and a detailed treatment plan or referral are written immediately.

Super service provided
We have Doctor Care Anywhere through work. I made an appointment for a non urgent matter. Got an appointment within 45 minutes and had a video consultation. Superb service and the practitioner was super helpful and sent me a referral to a dermatologist within one hour. Can highly recommend.
