Very bad experience unfortunately. We were debating if we are to pay less to an unknown car rental company or to pay for premium to have a hassle free holiday. We decided to pay more, and be relaxed... well universe said no. Straight at the car collection we got the first slap. I booked an Octavia Combi or similar, was givenna Kia Ceed. Not even close to Octavia's boot space, and being on a family holiday with 2 kids mean boot space is a must. The clerk wanted to sell an upgrade to me which I refused and he got very agitated, throwing documents at me. (Literally) We got a nice car, all seemed good at the end, no extra fee but the guy just handed the keys to me saying nothing. I thought well nice customerservice but anyway I'm not here to make friends. Car stayed at the hotels parking for a week, side mirrors folded. When we got back to the airport a lady showed up to check the car, and after looking at her handheld device, (not looking at the car) she went straight to the right side, side mirror and said here is a damage. I was like that cannot be for multiple reasons done by us, but she said we go to the office now. Despite having paid premium, full insurance, casco, they made me pay for an old damage without me having any way prooving them wrong. This was our first time renting a car, but definitely the last. Not sure what cheaper car rental companies do, but if this is the premium i don't even want to imagine. Arrogant staff, lies and no chance of winning an argument against them. So if you ever thought to ruin the end of an otherwise great family holiday, go and rent a car.

ze hebben ons een verzekering aangesmeerd voor 600 USD. anders kregen we de auto niet mee (of we moesten 10,000 USD waarborg geven). daar sta je dan aan de start van je rondreis in ecuador met het hele gezin. pure chantage, en bij de klacht nadien zeiden ze dan dat wij erachter vroegen. nooit meer europcar!
echt waar, laat je niet verleiden door de zeldzame positieve commentaren. ik zie dat veel mensen zelfde probleem hadden

Erger dan Europecar bestaat niet., totaal onbetrouwbaar en niet transparant.We zijn voor 5 weken in Ecuador. Deze ervaring heeft voor een flinke domper gezorgd.

Een 1 is al veel teveel sterren wat een giga waardeloos bedrijf
In Guayaquil een auto gehuurd van 17 tot 20 augustus. Een grote ramp een zeer onbetrouwbaar bedrijf. We hadden de auto extra verzekerd, toen we de auto op wouden halen kwamen er 200 dollar overheen want ze erkenden de verzekering niet die ze zelf hadden aanbevolen. Ook al kon je van alles aantonen, . het hielp niet en de aanbetaling was al gedaan. Het zijn gewoon criminelen maffia praktijken. Vooraf wordt je nergens voor gewaarschuwd of aangegeven dat er kosten overheen komen. Uiteindelijk toch maar gedaan omdat er op korte termijn niet wat anders viel te regelen. Bij het inleveren van de auto komen er ineen weer 46 euro overheen wat vooraf ook niet werd aangegeven. Dat was omdat er
meer kilometers gereden zou zijn. Erger dan dit bedrijf kan niet. Nooit maar dan ook nooit willen we nog iets met Europecar te maken hebben. Ons vliegtuig gaat zo dus hebben geen tijd om de politie in te schakelen maar dit soort mensen horen achter de tralies

God, where to begin. Expect to show up and have them give your car away. Upgrade was 250% the agreed, prepaid price. Cancerous organisation with people who actively break the law. The only reasonable explanation is that they are bribing officials to look the other way.

Europecar Milan branch. Managed to find a mark on the car that they needed a torch to see and then charged nearly 300 euros to have it repaired.
Furthermore, the repair was not put onto the invoice so it looks as though the depot is charging customers to boost their revenues.
The damage was most certainly not done during the rental phase as it was driven straight from Europecar to a secure off road car park at work and then driven straight back again.
I am not sure about the company but the depot at Milan airport appear extremely dodgy.
We work for a large international company and this has been flagged with them. The likelihood of using them again has decreased by a day and night comparison.
CAUTION ADVISED.

Kein entgegenkommen da ich am Tag der Vermietung aufgrund einer plötzlich eintretenden Erkrankung den Wagen nicht abholen konnte.

We booked and fully prepaid our car through Easyjet Car Rental.

Had to modify our car hire booking due to a delayed flight arrival and ended up using Europcar who I have never used before. We gave them our prepaid voucher when we arrived and signed off the paperwork presented to us which we were told was to confirm that we did not want to take their insurance as we already had our own car hire excess insurance.

After returning home we noticed additional costs had been charged to our credit card.

Turns out Europcar gave us an upgraded car WITHOUT NOTIFYING US and told us we were signing for insurance when we signed the contract that was written in Spanish. They charged us over £200 in addition to the prepayment we had made to Easyjet Car Rental.

This is a scam. Money was not taken from our credit card until AFTER we left Spain so we had no way of knowing.

No one told us the car we were given was different to what we had requested and prepaid for. The contract was presented in Spanish and we were told it was just to agree to deductions for our insurance. They lied to us. This is fraud.

Easyjet Car Rental have been useless in calling out this fraud.

I just want to warn others to be careful as this scam is terrible.

We kregen uiteindelijk ook niet de categorie die we hebben gereserveerd.

Aangekomen op Ibiza 19 februari om 22:30 aan de balie stond een hele nare vrouw ze deed al meteen moeilijk betreft als je een krasje krijgt van meer dan 2 cm dan moest ik €2000,- betalen dit was het beleid en moest tekenen of kreeg de auto niet mee. Vervolgens bij het ophalen van de auto bleek er rondom de auto allemaal schades te zijn die niet op het formulier stond ben toen meteen naar de balie gegaan de auto voorgereden en mevrouw kwam wel even kijken. Het is eerste wat ze zei dat ik me aanstel en dat de schades niet opvallen nou ik kan je vertellen de hele auto zat onder de krassen en die groter waren dan 2 cm zelfs meer dan 10cm maar dat ik me niet moet aanstellen. Ik vroeg kun je aub de schades op het contract noteren toen werd ze woest en dreigde de auto in te nemen en mijn contract per direct te beëindigen terwijl er 2 jonge kinderen van 3 en 6 jaar oud huilend in de auto zaten omdat de vrouw vervolgens dreigde met de politie te halen omdat ik niet goed was dat ik gewoon netjes vroeg of ze de schades wou noteren vervolgens heeft ze wat aantekeningen gemaakt en foto’s wij ook en zijn toen maar weggegaan met de auto want zo wil je niet behandeld worden door een groot verhuurbedrijf die vrouw is zo klantonvriendelijk dat heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt in mijn leven hopelijk zal hier werk van gemaakt worden

Ik huur nooit meer bij europecar en raad dit iedereen ten strengste af

Booked a car through doyouspain. It was canceled by europecar at the beginning of the corona virus lock down as we were told the office in ibiza had to be closed due to goverment instruction. It is now five months later and all we get from doyouspain is that they are waiting for a response from europecar and it's been escalated. Must have been escalated to the powers above by now as we've been told that so many times. We have now been told that Europe car may now charge us a cancellation fee! We didn't cancel! They did! So frustrated and angry at both doyouspain and europecar.

Not same standard in spain as in Denmark
They say they dont have the category car Anymore - sold out - and you should rent a more expensive car at the disk.. But when you phone in they have All kategories.. Lying and cheating Company in las palmas

We booked all the insurence from home, and booked af big car. When we came at the airport they wanted to upgrade our car to automatic, but when we dident want the upgrade, europecar just didnt have our booked car.
So they wanted us to pay for a upgrade, because they didnt had the car we booked!
Or we could have an totally other car!

Had a good experience with these guys, after my car bombed out on the motorway my insurance paid for the hire car. I wasn’t disappointed, they’ve been brilliant, very professional and gave me all the info. When I had to return the car they came to the home address to pick it up. Car was in good condition and smart.

The Malaga airport scam is very real.

Tried paying for my car without the additional excess, but all 5(!!!!) cards didn't go through.

Magically, when the guy added the insurance, which was about 150 Euro less than the initial sum, the transaction went through.

Not going to use Europecar any time soon.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS AT MALAGA AIRPORT !! THEY OFFER YOU UPGRADE AND INSURANCE AND IF YOU DECLINE SUDDENLY YOUR CARD IS NOT ACCEPTED AND YOU CAN PAY CASH BUT ONLY IF YOU PAY FOR THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THE INSURANCE ! SPOKE TO BARCLAYCARD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY ASKED FOR 10 TIMES THE AMOUNT OF THE DEPOSIT AND THAT WAS THE REASON FOR THE NOT AUTHORISED TRANSACTION !!

I booked a car via Holidayautos. The information on Holidayautos says that Europcar is based in terminal. Wrong! they are 15min away by shuttle so be aware of that for a start. My voucher said that I needed to present credit card, diving license and passport, so I did. Rep at the counter insisted I needed a DLVA penalty points check at the cost of 10GBP, though we explained we have NZ driving license. Took 45min to resolve this issue involving the manager of the branch. Every single step, staff was trying to sell you more services, while I see how people are smoothly processed in other car rentals. Eventually got a car, air conditioning not working on a day that the temperature is 30c. Never Europecar again.

Fraudsters and only there to rip people off. I am given a wrong price quotation at the start to help me get a car from them however charged me a very high unreasonable when I went to return the car.

Will never go back to them.

J ai loué par l intermédiaire de mon assistances un c3 le 3 décembre 2018 la caution était de 100€ le commercial a mis 2 fois ma carte j ai été débité 2 fois 100€ aujourd’hui europe cars me dit qu il faut que je fasse une présure pour la restitution de ma caution de 200€ donc même les 100€ il ne me les ont pas rendu ATTENTION avant de louer chez Europe cars car les Cautions sont gérés je ne sais ou🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🤫voleurs

We used europecar to pickup a rentacar Waverley station Edinburgh Scotland worst ever, unhelpful slugged is heaps of extra insurances ,the depot is on a platform hopeless location ,finally found car pickup in car park of station walked like 2 k/m
Finally got car then couldn’t get out of car park they didn’t give us a car park ticket had to call security to get out wouldn’t recommend for this location bad experience and staff were terrible
