The search function on FMP is heaps better than at least one of the major competitors (maybe 100 choices versus many million poor matches on that other site). FMP certainly helped me with exploring my... Ver más

Being persistently connect to the Australian site is annoying. My focus is UK, so having to switch collections for searching is irritating.

The process of searching is easy and there are a lot of records available to search for your ancestors. My grandfather was born in Prussia which doesn’t exist now but I was able to find information about him

I thought it was free and every time I get information they want me to pay.

It had what I was looking for.
However, I did email FMP in early January asking about the newspapers on FMP (the British Newspaper Archives) but I did not receive a response which was disappointing as I have been subscribing to your website for many years now. The question I had asked was, what was the difference between the content of the newspapers found on FMP as against the British Archive as I have subscription to both FMP and the British Archive. I have been wondering if this might be overkill and was seeking your advice. It would be appreciated if you would kindly answer my question now.

Great access to records. The app doesn't have as much usability as the online page. I also find on the online page that it is a bit clunky that the back button on a picture of a source (eg a census) throws me completely away from the summary of the source and I have to go back into the family tree to find the relevant person and then click on their hints to find that source summary page again. It would be better to have a cross to exit the source picture

I get email after email regarding facts found. Click on it and all I see is how to upgrade with no helpful information.

Well some well known Australian towns were completely unknown to the search engine. Which is a surprise as I had pretty good success with a previous relative. So the issue is the search engine.

It was good to be able to access my family's tree once more, and to update a couple of things.
What was very disappointing, having consented to a free trial and with the hope of accessing relevant records and documents, i do in fact have to 'upgrade' in order to discover that information: i cannot afford $50- a month: but if i cannot find out what i need to know, perhaps i had better rather "unsubscribe"...
Having acces to some of the more important records during a trial-period would be really helpful. Alternatively: howcome there is not a "Library version" of FMP??

I found it hard to navigate. I find ancestry layout much better, easier to view. But besides that you do have a awesome BMD
I'll need to go back onto your site but atm financially I can't afford it
I am searching for two of my gg grandmothers as one was born illegitimate and the other I have matches but their Margaret Quirk was single and born and died in Isle of Man whereas my direct ancestor was born in Isle of Man but married and died in England. I decided to go back onto FMP as hoping as you have amazing BMD would be able to find out about my two direct ancestors buy now to be. Maybe later in year I might, fingers crossed

I’ve used Findmypast for a long time principally to obtain records not available, or at least accessible, on Ancestry, which is getting a bit big for its boots. My experience with Findmypast the other day was that there was nothing much more than what I already had for that particular ancestor. That doesn’t mean I will stop using Fmp.

not a fluid way to put together a tree im no expert by a long shot but its confusing. My opinion only.

It's only early days for me using your service thank you

I have not been doing much genealogy in recent months but have been something of a power user of FMP over a number of years now. I have been mainly searching through the vast number of colonial East India Company records held by your organisation, that are very comprehensive and easy to search. Once I do this, I plan to branch out into other UK/Australian sources on your site, and expect a similarly seamless way to quickly add to my huge family tree (over 4,000 people). In short, you provide a high-quality service representing excellent value. Thank you.
