We hire the Mariachi Warriors for our annual fundraising event and everyone loves them! Their presence and their music really adds to the atmosphere of the event and gets people up dancing and enjoying themselves. Our contacts at Function Central are incredibly friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.

We used Shake The Moon as our wedding band in July 2025 and we are so glad we did! The booking process was super straight forward and the band themselves were amazing, very friendly and kept everyone on the dance floor all night. We have had so many compliments from guests on how great they were, would definitely recommend Shake The Moon and Function Central 🕺🏻

We booked 2, 1st class acts with Function Central. The website made it easy to consider the different acts on offer in terms of style and availability; booking was an easy process; the acts themselves were professional and were perfect for our needs. I would definitely use them again.

I don’t usually leave negative public reviews, but unfortunately, our experience with Function Central and the Manhattan Band was deeply disappointing, especially given the significance of our wedding day.

From the outset, communication with the band was difficult. When we discussed our song preferences and the overall vibe we were aiming for, the response we received was simply, “We’ll do our best.” Not exactly the level of confidence we were hoping for when booking live music for such an important occasion.

We were told the band needed to do a sound check, which we understood. However, because our wedding took place in a single room venue, we explained that this would need to happen before guests arrived. They quoted us an extra £900 to do this early, an unexpected cost just a week before the wedding. The alternative offered was a “silent sound check” on the day, free of charge, with assurances it wouldn’t interfere with our event or our own background music.

On the day, that promise was not kept. The drummer played loudly for close to an hour during our reception, drowning out our own music and forcing guests outside. The room was empty while the sound check took place, hardly a “silent” process and certainly not what was agreed upon.

When it came time for the band’s actual set, we were further let down. Out of the 25 songs we had requested from the approved list on the function central website, only 2 were played. Instead, we got generic wedding crowd pleasers like Uptown Funk and Proud Mary , songs we specifically didn’t choose and that didn’t reflect the atmosphere we wanted. Our wedding video is now filled with music that doesn’t represent our day, which is extremely disheartening.

We raised all of this with Function Central, who passed our concerns to the band. Unfortunately, neither has accepted responsibility or offered any meaningful solution. The band’s only defense was that “guests were up dancing,” which completely misses the point.

We paid £1,500 for a service that disrupted our day and delivered a setlist that felt completely tone-deaf to our wishes. Sadly, we can’t recommend this band or booking service, we strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Function central was absolutely brilliant through the whole booking process !!
They were quick responding and were extremely helpful throughout.

Also we can’t recommend the band The Crossfades enough.
They were phenomenal! If you want a great atmosphere and lots of dancing , you need these guys!!!

The agency were really professional from start to finish. I was very happy with their service. Polite and responsive and very helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!

Andy was brilliant! From pre event chats and text through to helping make our party a really brilliant event. Great early evening chill out through to getting everyone on their feet and keeping the dance floor full for the rest of the night. Brilliant. Highly recommend.

Rockit performed at our wedding. They were incredible, they knew exactly how to get everyone on the dance floor and were really flexible with the timings of sets to work around the serving of our evening food. Really talented and we have had so many compliments. They also absolutely smashed our first dance song. Thank you so much.
