Purchased Gurdman bird feeder in May- avoid

Purchased Gurdman bird feeder in May. Had problems screwing the poles together initially. Rejigged the poles and they were ok but I was concerned that they were not really sturdy enough. Any way since then the pole has collapsed twice. Twice I have put it back together using waterproof heavy duty tape. The company that I purchased it from on Amazon only have 3 month guarantee. Told me to contact manufacturers. I have looked for replacement poles. None. Gardmans website is rubbish and difficult to find: you cannot even email them. The threads on the feeder are rusted and now they will not go back together under any circumstances. Wasted almost £40

NO GO bird seed

Purchased “ no grow “ bird seed and true to the name- it doesn’t grow- THE ONLY TROUBLE IS THE BIRDS DON’T GO NEAR IT !!! Absolute waste of money.

Go Sure - Smart Patch, 1.2kg.
Front label quotes:- Peel Here - For how to use, but the reverse is blank.
The product does not dissolve fully in water, whether cold, warm or under pressure in the recommended sprayer. Evidence by the residue of salts, sand etc when emptying, ergo it cannot be effective as claimed. A very bad purchase and waste of money,

Just like the other reviews here their products are not fit for purpose. When complaining to their customer service team they just fob you off and try to blame you.
Awful company, have no idea how to deal with complaints. I will be reporting them to trading standards.

Absolute junk - four station feeder

Absolute junk. The uprights do not screw together correctly- threads are too loose or too tight. The metalwork is very thin and low quality. The wingnuts that tighten the hangers had to be undone with pliers which damages the paint. The feeders are the lowest quality possible. Forty quid and two hours of my life I won’t get back.

Gardman Ltd. COCKEREL WEATHERVANE

I bought a Garden and Home Co Cockerel Weathervane from a Garden Center in Devizes. I assembled it following the Gardman Ltd instruction sheet. The instructions are simple and the parts have a unique fitting. Once assembled (correctly) the cardinal points E and W point 180 degrees in the wrong direction!
I could modify the fittings to correct the fault but chose to leave it as it is as a curiosity and example of shoddy and idle work.
I WOULD LIKE GARMAN LTD PLEASE TO TELL ME WHO MAKES THESE ITEMS FOR THEM AND IN WHAT PART OF THE WORLD OR UNIVERSE THEY ARE DESIGNED TO OPERATE. A PROMPT RESPONSE WOULD OBVIATE ANY CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION OR REIMBURSEMENT.

Dire quality.

My wife purchased a Gardman Complete 4 arm bird feeding station which arrived with a manufacturing fault, the thread on the inside of one pole was not milled out, so the joining stub could not be fixed securely. Easy solution, a call to Gardman Customer Services to change the faulty part. But oh no, return to Amazon and explain the situation for them to resolve was the helpful reply; try to use the Amazon site for faulty goods!
I fixed the issue myself after a few hours of fruitless searching Amazon's site, but a recent spell of high wind and the whole assembly crashes to the ground, not due to my fix which is still intact. The fault is with the flimsy plastic joining stubs, which are next to useless.
Their quality is s##te, matched by their useless customer service Avoid Gardman and invest in something substantial. Unfortunately I had to choose one star to write this review, but that does stick in the throat; zero would be preferred.

Squirrel proof I don't think so?

With Gardman they are not cheap but I have always relied on them to work. I thought I had defeated the squirrels with the Heavy Duty Squirrel Proof Fat Snax feeder but sadly not. Admittedly at the first squirrel attack they could not get to the food but as they swing about on it the bottom section works loose and falls off.
This is because, unlike the lid, there is nothing to prevent the bottom section working loose as it just needs a light twist.
A design fault I suspect.
Pity really as I thought Gardman would have thought it through.
I will try another brand to see if I can get a truly squirrel proof version.
Disappointed.

Initial problem was resolved. I would certainly buy from them again.

Updated Review:

I bought one of their Giant Fliptop Seed Feeders recently, along with some of their wild bird seed from a local(ish) garden centre. It looked really good.

Each of the twelve feeding ports has two small components which have to be assembled - a cover to prevent seed spilling out, and a perch which locks the cover in place. Unfortunately, one of these perches was broken, so the cover could not be locked in place, rendering the feeder unusable.

I had some difficulty contacting Gardman's customer services, not helped by an answerphone message saying that if an item was bought less than thirty days ago, they could do nothing, I must take it back to the retailer for replacement or refund.

I now understand that this was probably mostly due to the disruption caused by a major fire at Gardman’s premises.

Once I contacted them, they managed to find and send me three of the perches, I suspect by cannibalising a feeder from their warehouse. This was great for me, because I no longer have to make a thirty mile round trip to the retailer, across narrow country roads, taking around 2 1/2 hours. And no loss to Gardman, because they will no longer have to handle the return of my otherwise unusable item.

Things do go wrong, however good a company or product is. The real test is how they react to and fix the problem. Gardman corrected the problem.

The review would now be five stars, except for the problems in contacting them in the first place.

Finally, my thanks to Kayleigh from Customer Services, who resolved my problem.

These guys sell garden items

These guys sell garden items. We tried to buy a replacrment part but due to a fire they were unable to help. Instead they forwarded a load of vouchers which we are extremely grateful for. It was not necessary but WOW!!!

Dreadful customer service

Purchased a £20 lawn spreader and a small part was missing. Contacted their customer service and was told that, they don't carry spares and that I should return the whole item. Not convenient as I have assembled it and the item was bought on Ebay from a seller with a 99.9% rating.
