GrejFreak ApS (owner of GearFreak) was founded on the 1st of July 2008 by Kristian Rasmussen and Casper Pedersen in Denmark. Kristian is a former Lance Corporal at the Jutland Dragoon Regiment and has been stationed in Kosovo on team 17 and in Afghanistan on team 7. Casper has a bachelor’s degree in International Sales and Marketing from the Business Academy in Aarhus and has a great interest in civilian outdoor life. The foundation of our company is built on countless experiences and recommendations from professional soldiers from all branches of the Danish Armed Forces. It is a fact that many soldiers today buy equipment to supplement what they get from the Forces. Soldiers stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan especially find a need for gear that they have not been supplied with.

Good product selection and prices. Now to the "not so great" stuff..

1. It says it takes 2-3 "Werktage" to ship ("Werktage" are all days except Sunday in Germany). It took 5 days (excluding Sunday), so that promise is not quite accurate. There is no compensation for delayed deliveries. 5 days are fine if this is stated on the website, otherwise it can be misleading.

2. One item of my order was a Trangia 25-23 / Duossal. The product is great, but was visually damaged in several places (scratches, little notches and steel layer is peeling from the aluminium). Also it was quite dirty, with fatty spots and dirt. I wrote to GearFreak and sent them some images. They agreed that it is not acceptable and reimburse me with 20% of the items' price. Happy with this solution, since we really don't need more unnecessary transportation pollution and this way, I am fine with keeping the item. In the end, it is only visual damage, still functional.

I would buy again, now knowing that the actual delivery time is longer than stated (expectation management) and hoping to receive actual unused products in the future.

Tranparente Abwicklung von der Bestellung bis zum Paketempfang. Günstiger Preis deutlich unter der UVP.
Mittwochs bestellt, am folgenden Dienstag geliefert. Ist schon etwas lang, aber das Paket kommt schließlich aus Dänemark. Da mir das klar war, dafür kein Punktabzug. Nur die neuerdings wohl überall immer mehr üblich werdende Versandtüte statt Versandkarton gefällt mir gerade bei hochwertigen Artikeln im Wert von über 500,- Euro überhaupt nicht.

If you are UK based avoid this company

If you are UK based avoid this company. The usual misleading web page with a .UK name. You’ll get told you have a two day courier and here we are waiting a week later.

Don’t waste your time on these deceitful companies. Typically you have to wait the ridiculous time before the package arrives then should anything be wrong the concept of contacting or having to re-ship just leaves you feeling like there’s nothing you can do.

Awful, just plain awful.

Damaged parcel, missing items….

Eventually received the items after Hermes delivery rescheduled -no surprise there.
When it arrived it was clear that the parcel was damaged and open, parts were missing.
Hermes delivery driver took the parcel back and said that I would be sent a replacement.
Looking on the homepage it seems that conveniently the item is no longer in stock…

Dispatched really quickly but still…

Dispatched really quickly but still haven't received my goods as hermes claim that they left it in a bin rather than delivering to a neighbour as instructed. Goods seem to have gone missing.

Good Gear, Terrible Delivery Courier

I have given this rating as I have still not received my Gear. The courier has said they tried to deliver it which is untrue as I waited all day for it. Whilst Gear Freak have been good I would not order anything from you again simply because of your choice of courier . I have had numerous previous problems with them and there is no easy way to actually talk to anybody to sort out a problem. After emailing them about the incident I am yet to recieve reply from them. Its a shame as you have some great gear and you guys have been good, but until you change your courier I would not order from you again.
