£35 pre authorization fee and charger…

£35 pre authorization fee and charger failed to start, contacted geniepoint who wanted me to try again. Called to ask for my authorization fee to be released and got told wait 7 working days. Think I will stick with BP Pulse

No idea how Genie Point are still in business.

I will never use this company again and to be honest, have no idea how they are still in business. They singlehandedly demonstrate why EV charging regulations are needed because hopeless service such as provided by this joke of a company should not go unpunished. I have not had a successful charge at a Genie Point charger for more than a year and have now vowed to stop trying. Even their own map has that many red dots on it showing broken chargers it looks like it has got mumps.

Keep away Geniepoint is a Rip Off.…

Keep away from Geniepoint it's an absolute rip off. I have charged after hassle and the machine not working properly, I charged my car for around 30 mins. At Tesla I would pay around £20. I was billed £61 by Geniepoint for around 30 mins charge. DO NOT USE GENIEPOINT unless you want to be ripped off.

Geniepoint's Exorbitant Holding Charge: Time to Rethink?

Recently, Geniepoint upped their EV holding charge from a fair £8 to a steep £25. Charging twice daily? That's a potential hold of £50, only to be adjusted against a mere £5 to £10 charging cost. Plus, the 5-day bank reconciliation means a floating £250 weekly from my account, with an unjustifiable £200 excess. I get the need for holding fees, but this is overboard. I might have to look elsewhere unless this changes. Disappointed

Beyond useless

Beyond useless. Brand new unit in Morrisons Penrith. Appeared to be in service. Authorised payment then errored out. Called customer service who quite clearly couldn’t be bothered to help, advising the unit was broken. I kinda knew that. Had a similar experience last year at Morrisons Selby too. Simply don’t know how they get away with it, or why Morrisons aren’t on their case.
Also, whilst I’m at it. App is pathetically basic. More technology in a 1980s Speak n Spell console.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. The charger clearly stated the charge I was going to be paid in 2 places (30p/ unit) but I was then charged 79p/unit once i got sent the bill.
Chatting to customer services you get absolutely nowhere. They promise to ring you back but they do not. If it was possible I would never use Geniepoint again.

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish. Driven to 5 locations this afternoon locally (Leeds area) , every single one out of service.
2 in Otley, 3 on kirkstall road, I on burley road.
Worst company to call or to get assistance.

If you search on your sat nav and it comes up with geniepoint just ignore it. You’ll be wasting your time. I felt like throttling someone from that firm. So frustrating and used up a few valuable percentage of battery. AVOID AT ALL COST

Sat waiting for an engineer for over 6…

Sat waiting for an engineer for over 6 hrs to get the charger released from my car. Was advised to Call RAC who came out and said it was the charger not the car. Was advised by customer service that an engineer would call no calls received would not divert my call or let me speak to a manager a joke of a company

Just failed to charge at Portway Park…

Just tried to charge at Portway Park and Ride. Disappointed to see it was GeniePoint but got through to someone on the helpline very quickly, of course he wasn't able to get the fast charger to work, the slow charger already had a "caution"label attached. He said that they were having connection issues. I don't understand why Bristol City Council would allow such an appalling company to take up space in their Park and Ride

Avoid! Over priced

I’ve just used GeniePoint for the first time! 8kws for just over £7 I’m gob smacked, Tesla charges me quarter of the cost.
Will not be using these again and shame on Morrisons for letting these rip off companies put their charge points on their property.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling. cannot register using copy and paste, which makes life difficult for a complex password. Finally managed to register and tried to find a specific, private, destination charger administered by Geniepoint but it doesn't show on the map.
Map is clunky to use. My experience so far seems to mirror that of most app reviewers. Will probably find alternative charger to use.

The website and app need serious re-working.

App said chargers were working. Drive there on holiday. Did not work. Phoned GeniePoint technical support they said oh they are out of order. Waste of time and effort and app incorrect. Terrible first experience.

Totally unreliable

Totally unreliable. Have attempted to use geniepoint at multiple sites around Wales (mainly on Morrisons car parks). Invariably out of order, DC chargers are always ‘temporarily unavailable’, Type 2 AC occasionally works.
Avoid.
