I want to go forward with a complaint about how you can offer a family of three a three bed house when they are family of four in a two bedroom house kind regards Angela sean brammer

Been in Gentoo flats for 12 years approx. Where do I start??. Over the years I've received abuse, nasty letters from flat mates, door banging, mind games, being told what to do. In my first one in 2012. Mam wrote a letter on my behalf to the MP. The MP got in contact with Gentoo at Southwick. Upon this, I was invited to a 'meeting'. In this meeting i was interrogated and mildly intimated. Nothing changed at all, despite promises by the so called 'housing officer'! I had to keep diary sheets and logs of the behaviour. I moved to the ashbrooke area in 2015. Below me, I had a nasty man who would send nasty notes and letters. I texted the housing manager constantly. In 2017, Gentoo set up a mediation with 'Unite' services, which didn't help at all! i received more letters due to what was said in this meeting. I moved again. In this flat...... I have been mildly harassed by a bought flat and its occupants. This time, I had to confront them because I'm getting sick and tired of this behaviour. I've begged Gentoo for a bungalow. I'm diagnosed autistic, and nothing has been provided to me. The only things have changed is because I've adapted this behaviour, its been a battled which is not recognized at all. Gentoo quick enough to take every penny from your account and almost harass you! if miss a payment

After six weeks in the property I regret moving. A year on my mental health has suffered due to work needed to be done and no one turning up on arranged date. Damp reported twice and just got appointment for June for the work to be done. Heating doesn't work and I get passed from Switchee to Kensa to Gentoo and nothing sorted. I can't wait to move out of here as no one at Gentoo is bothered. Most residents in this block of flat cannot stand the HC, which says alit.

I didn’t think a company could get away with being this terrible, ignorant, untruthful and incompetent in 2022. A very simple clean up job of one of their disgusting gardens has been ignored for nearly 3 years. Responses have been almost malicious from Gentoo staff almost taunting me. I’ve been nothing but polite and professional, I can only guess this is the overall shoddy attitude of the company and comes from the top down. I feel sorry for anyone that is a tenant and has an issue. Luckily I’m not a tenant, but unfortunately I’m a neighbour of their property. My local neighbourhood is being let down by this company for reasons I can not understand.

Stuggled during the pandemic with mental health and other issues. Gentoo absolutely no help. Expressed multiple times my situation but they did not care. I ended homeless and have struggled for nearly a year to find anywhere to live as you cannot live in sheltered accommodation and work and unable to find somewhere to live with a job due to these people at gentoo. Trying to make a better life for myself and now unable to get that chance due to these 'helpful people' just wanting to make money and not help the people of Sunderland.

Gentoo are a freemason run company. They are involved in the torture, torment and abuse of some tennents whom they believe are easy targets. I know this because of personal experience. I think it is witchcraft that they use to carry out the abuse. Believe me they are evil. Never get involved with Gentoo.

I have been trying to get long standing issues at Benedict Court resolved but Gentoo are just not interested. One Manager accepted the issues needed dealing with but got moved before she could take action. Her successor would not accept promises made. All of the issues are important yet absolutely nothing is being done. We have carpeting in the communal areas and corridors that has been cleaned ONCE in twelve years. It's a disgrace. If I could award nil points I would. Other long standing issues are just totally ignored by Gentoo. We need new management at Gentoo who will actually LISTEN and respond to Residents grievances.

Horrible staff threatening to evict people who have mental health issues. And will not listen to any complaints I have. On the verge of telling them to stuff there flat and go private instead!!

What do i actually pay my rent for? Repairs dont get done and when they eventually do there bodge jobs like a cowboy builder. Im still waiting for a fence off novemeber last year. All messages are ignored or fobbed off with excuses. All if your face fits with these. Sharp on the phone for rent. Absolute disgrace!

I would of left -5 stars but can’t, Gentoo are a complete waste of time. I have lived in a flat for three years now and thankfully I’m currently moving, they don’t deal with complaints from their tenants but will listen to complaints that has been made up about me, they say that they don’t deal with complaints at all (mostly true apart that they’ll listen to tenants complaints that’s not with them) they refused to deal with the neighbourhood coordinator that informed my Karen neighbour personal information about me despite me having proof of this, they forced me to take my camera down even though I had permission for it (they lied saying that I didn’t when I did, to then get a letter saying that I can and then changed their minds again) when they knew that my abusive ex career was constantly at my door harassing and threatening me, they kept saying he was an ex partner when he’s not and made it clear that they didn’t believe me, the support worker hasn’t been in touch for a year yet apparently she’s still involved, I have autism and they would purposely cause me to get agitated with them so they can say that I’m being unreasonable and to calm down when they caused it, they don’t care that I also have mental health issues because of what I’ve been through and not care about my safety nor do they do repairs properly. It’s all a huge joke to them and lie all the time including when I asked a local mp who owns Gentoo to help they just lied about it saying that I’m making it up and I never got complaints when I did and have proof of it. Seriously STAY AWAY FROM THEM ITS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!!!

Gentoo Group have made some great improvements, with the introduction of their Tenant & Community Voice Team. This team also deal with all complaints from start to completion. All residents are encouraged to engage with the TCV group by attending their meetings, and becoming actively engaged.

Unprofessional behaviour. Unethical behaviour. Running a charity housing organisation in a very unlawful manner. They have no care for customers. And staff attifieds are appauling

From personal experience this is the most evil and twisted company to every be created within Sunderland, Staff think its funny to target people with learning problems and mental health problems they will also go as far as to threaten and harass you to keep quiet and use there personal friends they have in the community policing team to use as methods of intimidation,( I know this as I knew some of them and a dumb gentoo staff member started bragging about it at one point.) GENTOO DO NOT CARE ABOUT LIVES... If you must live in Sunderland recommend a Different company..

Not interested in people who rent from them at all. Emails ignored. Repairs service suspended. Maintenance non exist ant. Very poor!!

I can't get into my car park in the flat I pay rent for. I'm disabled and have to hobble to the Consierge area. Wait till they work out how to open the gates for cars. What happens the Gentoo engineers give fobs to to any workers coming in Sacrificing the Residents fobs who actually pay for the privilege to park. Beggars Belief. Happened to me twice in a few weeks despite being promised this would not happen again.

Up and till now have been more than satisfied with all aspects of Gentoo, until this morning when we learnt we have to have the kitchen replaced , though being happy with the one we have , despite the housing manager pleading our case to keep the kitchen we had fitted by ourselves replacing an ill fitting sink.
Seems we have to abide by Gentoo's grand scheme of modernization so the next tenant won't complain the kitchen hasn't been modernized in the slot Gentoo allocated. Not happy to say at least with my wife on the verge of a nervous breakdown so upset she is loosing her lovely kitchen.

Disgraceful company corruption rife, won't do repairs doors fitted wrong with gaps single glazed windows, damp, mould they claim is condensation (proven lies) made elderly couple paint over damp so they could move to a bungalow. Won't do any repairs but they will be at your door for 40p rent arrears. Should be investigated and prosecutions.

No one ever listens to what you have to say they talk over you.i moved into a bungalow august 2020 and still waiting for repairs using covid-19 as an excuse.attitudes stink with many staff . Sunderland City council need to take over Gentoo.hiw come they constantly building homes for sale and yet can't do repairs to old stock???

I have lived in this flat town centre it is damp and mouldy workmen have been 3 times and told me to open windows the weather is below 0 my doctor has advised me to leave as a have chest infection after chest infection so for my health and well being I am out ov here I wouldn’t let a dog live in these conditions discracefull good bye
