Helpful for invoice management, emailing, and submitting tax reports. They continually update the app with new functionality and has a lot of helpful advice for freelancers in Germany!

Ultimate tool for Freelancers!
Sortd has helped me answer some of the basic questions about how to navigate the sometimes complicated path of being a freelancer in Germany. Also it has been able to answer more complicated answers for me by connecting with a tax consultant, etc. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This application is really perfect for the one who like to work as freelancer. I start to working as a freelancer a few months ago and with the help of this application I handle the registration, accounting and Finanzamt reporting.

Starting as a freelancer can be daunting, but I'm so greatful over how much easier Sorted has done this process for me.

I've been using Sorted for a few years now and it's served me great. I use it to generate and send invoices to my clients, also for bookkeeping and submitting reports to Finanzamt. These areas are working great. The main reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they've discontinued the feature where I could talk to a tax advisor. I used that feature a few times a year and I found it valuable.

Very user friendly, cool tool, gives you great overview of inputs and outputs, tax returns. Only i cant use it for tax return of house renting.

I'm very happy with the sevice. It makes my freelancer activity so much easier.

Overall easy to use! Very fast and proper help from support every time I have questions.

BUT unfortunately you can't declare trade tax (mandatory even if you don't have to pay) via Sorted at all, for this reason I was forced to change to Accountable instead.

I cannot be more grateful to have Sorted in my life! The platform is brilliant - easy to use, any tax reminders always on time when needed, easy to find the info already submitted (e.g reports or general overview). If I ever had any issues of questions, customer service was spot on, super quick to respond in a nice and clear manner so all my answers were solved. True life saver! Could not recommend this platform more.

I was almost crying, cause all the freelancing process here in Germany is super complex.
Sorted helped me to send all the info and documents to the tax office with just a couple of clics.
Even the creation of the invoices for my clients was easy to do!.

Honestly, without them, I would have had to pay a big sum for a private accountant. I was so happy when I found their service in 2021 it really saved me from the complicated work you have to go through as an expat. This is probably the only German product I would recommend to everybody.

So far it's going well. I used Sorted a few years ago and it worked really well until I issued some customer refunds and forgot to record them in the same quarter. Somehow it messed up the whole thing and I ended up with trouble from the Finanzamt and had to spend a TON with an actual Steuerberater getting it all fixed. I will say the crew at Sorted in this case were absolutely no help or support.
Now I am back again to give this another go because I think I can handle things on my own this time around, and I sincerely hope that they have improved their customer service so that in the event I do have problems, they can actually help me.
Handling the recording of expenses and income is pretty straightforward. However it would be nice if there was a dedicated part for all those extra expenses... health insurance, child expenses, income tax prepayments... that you could complete as you go throughout the year. I believe they are part of the reports section, but it would be nice to have all of those in the expenses.
But overall I am pretty happy with what I have been doing so far on Sorted. Let's see how the year progresses.

Very easy to use software. I am a small consultant and can concentrate on my work.

It does everything I want as a Freelancer and is well worth the €20 per month that I pay for the pro-plan.
It even makes doing my personal tax return way easier each year (as the form is in English!).
The absolute best thing is the Zusammen- fassende Meldung reporting... This makes my life so easy.
Customer support is good, with messages answered in a timely manner.
My one bugbear is that there is no link into my Elster account, and thus ~ I can not review my tax status nor progress there.

Been using Sorted since 2021. As a freelancer with a rather simple book-keeping it has been alright. I'm not super happy with invoice creation though.

It doesn't let me store a new invoice numbering (over time you learn what works and doesn't work for you, and yearly change should be fine as long it is clear there are no invoices omitted). It's also designed without considering freelancers who might have one-time clients -- no option to type in directly to the client info section, you must create a client profile before you can add their address and VAT info.

For some reason the numbering and certain details I enter at the beginning of the process get removed or overwritten while I add other details. I have to check multiple times and correct them before I can finally send the invoice to the client.

Also I always end up with a monthly invoice with more pages than necessary because it auto-breaks after 3-4 items.

These can be minor issues some may overlook but annoying once you notice them and time-consuming, a bit frustrating as I want to make the most out of the money paid.
