Avoid this company for Auschwitz tours – misleading and exploitative

We had a terrible experience and strongly advise others to avoid this tour provider. We booked an 8:00am Auschwitz tour, but never received a confirmation email. Despite repeated attempts to contact them, we only heard back after the 24-hour cancellation window had passed.

At that point, we were told:

The tour would not pick us up from our hotel, despite what was implied.

The 8:00am booking we made would actually require a 4:00am pickup.

We would need to walk across town at 3:30am to meet the bus.

Upon arrival, we might have to wait up to three hours just to receive an entry ticket.

In the end, what they offered was no better than simply going to Auschwitz on our own and getting a ticket directly on the day (which costs around $10). Instead, they charged us $110 for essentially no added value and an experience we couldn’t feasibly attend.

This feels like a deliberate scam – designed to make people miss the tour while keeping their money. Who in their right mind would set off at 3:30am for a tour that might not even start until 10:30am?

Please don’t make the same mistake.

We have booked an Auschwitz tour with them and they cancelled ( signature Dominika) the tour without alternative the evening before the day of the tour.

Do not engage with this company. We arranged a 4 day trip through TUI and the main reason for going is to visit Auschwitz/Birkenau. Through TUI, we booked our trip months ago, using their recommended GR8WAY. We arrived in Krakow, Thursday evening, only to receive a WhatsApp msg cancelling our Auschwitz tour which was scheduled for the next day! Supposedly due to issues at Auschwitz. After an hour or two of angst, and with help from our hotel, we managed to rebook but on a different day, which meant we had to move our Salt Mine trip; and the tour left at 5.15am. Now we are in a battle with TUI to recover the extra £211 spent on sorting out this mess

Booked onto a trip to Auschwitz through a tour seller in the Old Town (Quality Krakow Tours).

The transfer was supposed to arrive at 04:20, this arrived at 07:00. We were left with no contact details so was unable to contact anybody to find out what was going on and what was happening.

We ended up being put onto a German speaking tour even though we booked an English tour and do not speak a word of German.

Attempted to call the company many many times but no answers on the phone number provided in booking details and on website. Even went to visit the office address as listed on website and the address is an apartment complex so no idea if this company actually exists!

Awful experience.

Do not engage this tour group. They are very unprofessional.
We booked 2 months ago and were told the day before the tour via WhatsApp that due to issues at Auschwitz they could not conduct the tour. They were not telling the truth according to the people at Auschwitz Museum.
We ended up hiring a car and driving there and got a guided tour for less $ with no wait.
They would not return any of our attempts to contact them.
Very very disappointing

Would give 0 stars if I could. Booked salt mines and Auschwitz tour for an 8am pick up from hotel. 2 days before the tour we got an email to say it was cancelled. We rang and booked again to be told we could book the tour again but without salt mines for same price. First rip off.
The night before the tour we got a text saying the pick up time changed to 3.55am!!! I wouldn’t mind a 1 hour time change, but 3.55 in the morning is absolutely ridiculous. I would never have booked if this time was advertised. We decided to get up and go as the whole reason for going to Poland was to go to Auschwitz. We waited at the pick up point for more than an hour and no one turned up!!! 😡 Reading reviews this is a regular occurrence. We have requested a refund but no reply yet. SCAM, AVOID and don’t give this company your money.

We booked a trip to Krakow for April purely to visit Auschwitz. We booked a tour online 3 months in advance. At 9.40pm on the night before our tour, we received an email, telling us that Auschwitz museum had cancelled our tour, due to a lack of tour guides the following day. We spent a mad 2 hours online trying to rebook a tour for the next day, as we were flying home the day after, so had no other dates to reschedule the trip to. We were unlucky - and came home after spending a lot of money on a trip where we were unable to have the experience we planned. We have had the tour refunded - but spent money on flights and a hotel, which we cannot recoupe.
When I contacted Auschwitz museum, they confirmed that they do not cancel tours at short notice and that they believed that our tour operator had sold us tickets that they did not possess. When they tried to buy the tickets the day before the trip, they were sold out. As we had paid for the tour in January, they sat on our money until April 17th - then tried to buy them. It was Gr8way that let us down - not the Auschwitz museum. Book your trip direct with the museum to avoid disappointment.

Unbelievable how unprofessional this company is. We had a tour to Auschwitz booked for today — our one and only chance to visit — and absolutely no one showed up. We waited at the hotel reception from 4 a.m. for almost two hours, and no one even bothered to call or notify us about the issue.

It wasn’t until the following morning that the company replied to one of the emails we had sent during the night, saying the driver had been unwell. It’s honestly unbelievable that a company offering this kind of service wouldn’t call or notify the hotels where their passengers are waiting — and that they wouldn’t have a backup driver in place in case of emergencies.

We even went to bed early last night to be rested and ready — all for nothing. No one is going to give us back the time we lost or fix the disappointment. We absolutely do not recommend this company. Others should be warned about the terrible service they provide.

Booked a trip to Auschwitz 9 month in advance and Gr8way were supplier, they cancelled less than 24 hours before booking and then offered the same trip at an addtional cost. Extremely poor service and seemed like they were trying to extort for more money. the trip was booked through Viator.

We had day trip to Auschwitz and The “Wieliczka” Salt Mine. Day trip was absolutely great and well organized. We booked it via Viator.

To be honest, when we received a Whatsapp message that the schedule had changed significantly, were very skeptical and afraid of that we had been scammed. Pick up Time from the hotel was originally at 7am, but it changed to 4.30am. Luckily, our hotel staff assured us that the information we received sounded correct and Whatsapp is a common way of communication in Poland.

4.30am lovely Daniel picked us up right at the hotel's front door. We arrived at Auschwitz on time and Daniel had everything arranged for us. We were able to enjoy breakfast in the museum café while Daniel sorted out the ticket arrangements. At 7.30am there were already long ticket lines.

After this interesting guided tour, we headed towards the salt mine. There we had another well-organized guided tour. After the tours we were returned back to the hotel door.

The only minus was the very early pick up time, but in the end there was a reason for that. The driver Daniel took great care of us and even texted us several times during the day to ask if everything was okay.

The day trip was truly worth the experience.

Trip to Auschwitz was cancelled twice, late the night before and we never did get to go. Communication was poor and customer service awful.

The company never contacted me with confirmation of a pick up time which was said to be mid-day. At mid-day the company did not turn up and failed to answer their phones.

Get your guide who I booked through also could not get in contact with them. Useless and untrustworthy company. Avoid at all costs.

Company tried to change the agreed contract with Viator, should not be an appointed tour operator for Viator, no response or replies, 10 guest had to change all their plans. Do not use Viator if the tour operator is Gr8way

Great pick up from the Airport by Pawel.
Very polite and courteous… helped with the luggage. Plenty of commentary on the trip to our hotel. Made sure we were in the right place etc ! Thankyou

Our hotel arranged a driver to take us to Auschwitz Birkenau, they used this company and we received the best service from Michael T, he arrived on time, was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about everything in the area. We would definitely recommend anyone using this company and especially if Michael was your driver.

Awful company, zero correspondence,cancel trips last minute and don't even attempt customer service. Robbing and thieving springs to mind

Our driver Max Szkatula was very friendly, knowledgeable of the area and gave us a warm welcome to Kraków. The service had a feeling of luxury. We would use this company again :)
