I returned from a week-long trip to Albania on April 19, 2026.
Beware, do not book with GREEN MOTION under any circumstances.

Upon arrival at the Tirana airport agency, the agent made a mistake and told me my card wasn't working (I should mention that I had previously booked with the same card through GREEN MOTION without any problems).
The only solution to pick up the vehicle was to purchase additional insurance for €120, which I refused.
I received a call from a supposed manager who suggested adding my wife as a second driver so we could use our joint card.
Having no other option, I paid an additional €60 (doubling the rental cost).
At the vehicle pick-up, there was no joint inspection.
I was asked to take photos of the vehicle, which I did.
Upon returning the car, realizing the scam was coming, I temporarily blocked my card remotely. Sure enough, three guys started inspecting my car from every angle.

After 5 minutes, one of them told me the car was dirty and tried to extort money from me…
I decided to leave the agency without arguing.
Today, I received an email with photos of damage that aren't photos of my vehicle—easy for them, they have plenty of similar cars.
So I immediately blocked my credit card, hoping not to be charged. (Nothing so far).
Clearly, these guys are thugs, and there's no proof they work for GREEN MOTION.
ALSO IN ALBANIA, NEVER RENT FROM GREEN MOTION.

The rental desk is very far from the terminal. Not at all convenient location. You have to leave the airport and walk along a main road then round a roundabout to get to their desk.

There is only one person working and collection takes over an hour. There is nowhere to wait.

The man at the desk said I needed to give him £120 for “Police Insurance.”

He advised that “sometimes you can get stopped and if you have wrong papers who knows what happens.” This is a scam. I have driven in Albania 10+ times, they are trying to scare people to buy something that does not exist. When he realised my wife was Albanian he did not offer this anymore.

The car was dirty inside and had numerous warning lights going off that tyre sensors were not working.
I had ordered a car seat for my son which they did not have. Eventually they managed to find one. It was from the 1980s and was not ISO fix and had no instructions. They initially tried to fit it. It tipped over as soon as we drove off. They then said terms and conditions meant they were not allowed to fit it. I said I did not need the car then. At this point someone else appeared who was able to fit it.

I returned the car at 8am as agreed. The office was closed. I called the number and a guy who sounded like he had just woke up told me to leave the car with the keys in the ignition. Very odd but I did as instructed.

Two hours after drop off a number WhatsApp’s me and tells me he is charging my credit card for damages. There were no damages. I have disputed it but they have charged me anyway. I have received no report or evidence. A week later they helped themselves to money on my credit card. I am raising this as a fraud case with my credit card provider.

People should avoid at all costs.

The worst rental company ever! STAY AWAY from those scammers ! i end up paying a lot for the rental then the booking deal ! trust me i travel a lot ! and i never in my life had a bad services like Green Motion. DONT RENT FROM THIS BUSINESS ...

Booking went as expected online. Everything was clear. One little thing when we arrived. They moved from a location on the airport to a location across the street from the airport.
Pick-up went smooth and so was the drop off. No hassle everything as it should be.

We had required an Opel Corsa or equivalent, but we were provided with a Skoda Fabia, which is a downgrade for the same price and with a lot of scratches on for a rental car.

We have not been provided with a final invoice from Greenmotion but were being deducted 242 EUR from the reserved 500 EUR on my mastercard for potential damages. 242 EUR is in any case an extreme high amount for a scratch that we did not cause. Greenmotion had not opened their office as scheduled at 8.30 am on the morning at drop off date, so we could have discussed this matter.

This proces seems rather systematic with the company if you look at other comments on Trustpilot.com.

Never go with Green Motion !

We had a good experience and the service provided by Green motion staff in Tirana is outstanding. Good job guys.

Only employees were nice.
Everything else was worst:
1. The car was not what was booked, even equal, old one and on bad conditions.
The worst part was management- someone named NERTIL, who was very brutal, uneducated and disrespectful. A comportment like mafia.
Never again with this company.
People be careful, they are engaging you with nice employees and after will extort you off.

We just booked a car at Tirana airport. Really fantastic personal service at 23:15 close to midnight. We have booked with them before, and can really recommend this company!!! Nice staff and really good service!!

I hired a car from Green Motion at Manchester airport. They collected me from the airport and drove me to their depot. Remember, even if you hire a car from the actual airport, you have to travel by bus from your terminal to the car hire depot. It was much quicker and more convenient for them to send a minibus to pick me up and take me to the Green Motion depot.The staff were great, the car was new, everything was quick and efficient. Top marks!

Staff was very helpful and understanding, communication was good, car was in mint condition. Everything went smooth. If only possible, I will certainly return!
