Terrible. My room doesn’t have a door or a lock, communication with staff is terrible, I have rats in my kitchen and I just moved in, the walls are so thin and basically non existent, gym is run down and most equipment don’t work and staff are rude. I want to move out but I apparently can’t because I don’t meet the requirements. This is a deal with the devil.

i paid and uploaded my documents in the site of ottawa i have a garantor in canada who is working but not my case i'm not working no studying because i'm a permanent resident newcomer. when i ask them in their email or support request they don't answer my questions they just ask to upload documents.
i paid since a long time and i didn't get a confirmation yet it's stressful.
documents alwayd unverified.
and after all of this they send me by mail if i don't give them a study or work proof they will ask me to pay the 10 mounths beforhand.
This experience made me sick

Disappointing Experience with Harrington Housing

I am deeply disappointed with Harrington Housing and their negligence in resolving serious roommate issues in their apartment.

Apartment Issues:
Since moving into the apartment at 100 Wellesley St East, I have faced numerous problems with my roommate, who consistently fails to follow the cleaning and maintenance rules stipulated in the lease agreement. The situation has become so unbearable that the previous tenant moved out because she could no longer tolerate the unsanitary and stressful environment.

Negligence and Inaction:
I have been complaining about this situation for almost six months, providing photographic evidence and repeatedly reporting the violations. Despite my constant complaints, the only action taken by Harrington Housing has been sending emails to the violating roommate, asking her to comply with the rules. This approach has proven ineffective and demonstrates severe negligence on the part of the management.

Impact on Quality of Life:
My roommate’s erratic behavior has left me mentally distressed and increasingly feeling physically threatened due to her compulsive conduct. The unsanitary conditions caused by her lack of hygiene have significantly impacted my quality of life and mental well-being. The ongoing wait for an effective resolution and the absence of more stringent measures from Harrington Housing have only increased my stress and frustration.

Inadequate Response:
In response to my complaints, Harrington Housing stated that if the situation continues, they will initiate legal proceedings against the violating roommate. I find this response completely inadequate, considering I have been enduring this situation for almost six months. The company should have taken more decisive and immediate action long ago.

Conclusion:
I strongly advise potential tenants to consider other options before choosing Harrington Housing. The lack of effective action and the negligence in resolving serious roommate issues demonstrate a total disregard for the well-being of their tenants. My experience with Harrington Housing has been extremely negative and disappointing.

those 5 stars reviews are not organic they push people to review them good comment so they will provide them one month free stay they are tottaly robber with their agrement and everyhthing please think every step you are making towards them !!
here i will write what i experience with them first of all they are good till you keep the appartment or room and then your nightmares start their furniture is most cheapest and low quality ones their internet worst internet all the sink always blocking very bad smell from apartment air circulation they are taking advantage every step from you with their contract they suddenly send you mail threaten you that they are going to court if you dont respect yourself rent from them !!!

Finding a place to live remotely is very hard as a Canadian but with Harrington housing it has been super simple and safe . The pictures that were on the website are not exactly how it is in the real room but it is still very clean and super affordable considering the location. I have nothing bad to say and suggest any students who are on internships to go with Harrington housing !

Beware! The company is border-line fraudulent, like one of those third-party airline ticketing agencies. Despite the friendly face they present, they will treat you like a piece of human trash.

They have found every possible means of maximizing profit while trouncing on your rights as a tenant and dignity as a human being. They use a cheap plastic wall divider to convert living spaces into extra rooms, often doubling the occupancy of apartments. They provide the cheapest possible linens you will need to replace if you don't want to freeze on a cold night in Edmonton. They will police who you bring home with you, enforcing a policy requiring that your roommates report you or face financial penalty (how creepy!). They outsource all of their services by exploiting students. And these people, the "employees" of Harrington Housing, will routinely invade your privacy, showing up without notice and entering the premises to conduct Harrington's business.

By law, in Alberta, landlords are required to provide 24 hours notice to tenants before visiting their residences. In my short time renting from Harrington Housing at Garneau Towers in Edmonton, the company demonstrated gross negligence by routinely visiting our apartment without providing notice, often entering without even knocking. At one point, I had COVID and wrote them explicitly asking them to refrain from visiting the premises while I was sick. What happened? Without providing notice, one of their employees entered the apartment without knocking and directly proceeded to enter my room while I was sleeping, sick with COVID. I was astonished that I had to inform them what the laws were in Alberta, in effort to protect my rights as a tenant.

If you have issues, don't expect them to demonstrate any consideration or accountability. Sooner than addressing my formal complaint, which I addressed to their customer support and the building manager at Garneau Towers (CAPREIT), company representatives decided that their image was more important—they texted me directly raising a concern about this negative review! Another example of the unprofessional way Harrington Housing operates and communicates. Other negative reviews on this page provide more examples of the poor communication and sheer disregard Harrington Housing shows to its tenants. Many of these reviews also typify my experience.

In short, this company will routinely violate your rights, dignity and privacy. If you have any self-respect, I would not recommend renting from them.

The Mansfield is a great environment to live in. It is well located and you get to meet a lot of internationals. I am very statisfied with my room and with the facilities of the building. Alex helped me to move in and find the room that suited me the best. Him and Michael are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

I love Harrington Housing! My studio is awesome, and if anything needs fixing, Michael has it sorted within hours—totally unheard of for New York! Big shoutout to Alex, he's simply the best! Honest, kind, and super professional. My experience with Harrington Housing? A solid 10 out of 10!

I had a pleasant stay at the Seton hotel in New York!
I really appreciated that I got to look at the rooms beforehand through a video call. The rooms are exactly as pictured, the studio/ensuite bath and twin room/ensuite bath are spacious. Having an elevator in your building in New York was great.
I also got to meet some really nice people in the building.
The area is great too and has easy access to all the happening places.
The team was great, especially Alex who was always available on Whatsapp.

A nice company that provides affordable housing for all people, and Uma was a brilliant property manager

Really good and helping company. Helped with everything and all of my concerns. Felt with everything very quickly too!

These people have no consideration.
At first, I thought it would be okay, but it's not at all.
If your accommodation is not unsanitary, you are lucky. And if you need them for a problem, you can forget it, they don't respond.
The Tribunal Administratif du Logement in Québec is your only tool to put pressure on them.
Honestly, flee as much as possible.
Also, know that they pressure for positive reviews, so don't rely on them.

Overall everything was great. I have spent three months here and didn’t have any problems. Nate personally made sure he fixed every minor problem that I have faced and made my stay much better.

Good apartment in a nice area (downtown Toronto), employees are helpful, rent isn't too expensive. Takes long to get responses from employees at times.

I rented a room only for women, but later they took men too, just for money. The worst housing company I have ever seen in my life. They return the deposit very late and definitely make a deduction. Don't stay. Only employee Jack (Yagiz) was very attentive. Other than that, every department is complete garbage.
