Wouldn't go again

Went to lakeland Haven site. 1st van we were put it was filthy so I even refused to see it once it have been cleaned..kitchen cupboards had been chewed. So the lady in the office moved us to a different van. The head of cleaning was mortified at the state the 1st van was left in a checked off as cleaned 😐. We had booked for the kids to do the arieal trampoline which 3 of them got to do but the weather then stopped the 4th child.( can't help the weather) so went to rebook on for the next day to be told well you will have to wait until 5.10pm hes 7 and we had already paid they had spare spaces in the morning to which I was told you will go when I tell you ya can go the snotty attitude of these little bratty girls was disgusting they are supposed to help..99%of the other staff were brilliant..1st night we had hot water and heating(it turned nippy) so only needed it on to take the chill out the air..in the morning the heating wouldn't go off and remained on full. No hot water but the security lad soon came and sorted that he was lovely..the water running out of the shower or taps was a dribble at best..like id have been better getting showered in the rain. The food in the bar/ restaurant was awful..but the chippy, burger king, papa John's was brilliant..the nisa shop was always well stocked and reasonably priced too..but based on the cleanliness of the caravan and the grounds there was rubbish all over the fronts of the main area drinks and glasses all over from the pub/clubs..im never going back there and im living in hope Craig Tara is better then lakeland..

Was looking to book a weekend away in Burnham

Was looking to book a weekend away in September so not high season. When going through the booking I was horrified to find out that it was extra to park your car and extra to book a slot to gain access and if you dont pay then car park well away from van and wheelchair uses find it difficult to find van but again you can pay extra for the van you have already paid for be at a place in the park suitable for you and by this time the cost of the short break has doubled. If you dont pay for access to van it can be at least 6 oclock before you get chance to relax so thats a day lost. What a way to attract business and when I phoned to ask if there was any compromise and the response was no but they would raise my argument with management, once again disabled and pensioners dont count.

Excellent experience at Doniford Bay.

Just had seven nights at Doniford Bay. Superb experience from start to finish. Spotless caravan, excellent staff. Now a few special mentions. Finlay, in reception, who sorted out a small problem with the caravan. This was done promptly and with no fuss. Amy, in the cafe/bar, whose friendly efficiency made it a pleasure to eat and drink there. A special thank you to Rachael at the BoxBar for being friendly and fun,as well as good at her job. A true delight.

Primrose Valley Haven

I would like to complain about a filthy caravan we stayed in at Primrose Valley in Filey from the 12th of May until the 19th of May 2025, having tried to change caravans on the very first day of arriving I was fobbed off by the young lady saying they were fully booked we use Haven sites at least 2 to 3 times a year for the last 10 years and I've got to say the stains on the seating area dirty bed linen dirty tissues left under the beds a stench of damp if Haven need to check the caravan well this time you can be my guest the caravan number was 100 Oak Meadows just short of £400 I paid for this experience well never again at this site....

Really bad experience

Went recently, payed for top accommodation to be put in amongst druggies and drunks. Yes, it’s a holiday, I get that people let their hair down and drink; not when your kids are literally running wild, into bushes where there’s a lake just on the other side. Smoking cannabis with their kids sat with them. Parents thinking that booking an activity means childcare so leave their kids with Haven staff, well try to. The language from parents in front of their kids was toe curling. We went on a normal weekend and it was rammed. Noise until 2/3am every night, so if that the Haven stay you want book this site!
The swimming area was disgusting, the floors were so dirty. The flumes weren’t always on and the lazy river was just filled green flies and other bugs.
The food from Burger King was dry and the order was wrong.
The food from the BoatHouse was standard pub grub.
Disappointed as we Haven every year, sometimes twice a year. Never thought there’d be a site worse than Haggerston Castle but there is. Time to end Haven holidays for our Family.

I have read the response from Haven on Google. And feel I need to add more. The gold caravan my family was in, was right in the middle of a group of caravans that were causing the issues. There was no way we could have rang security as they would have known exactly who’d rang and if they weren’t removed from the park, what may have been the repercussions of reporting the families? It was like the whole of Lake Mere View all knew each other and were congregating around the one van. I think Haven could have asked to speak to me and put this right but it seems not. I also spent the time reviewing our family experience via the email sent from Haven. However, still Haven don’t seem to want to know or put this right. Our holiday was ruined by this

Great Value Short Breaks

March -Devon Cliffs
April - The Orchards
May - Wild Duck

3 x 4 night short breaks all were £49 savers (no access to pool or live lounges) for two people

We have been using Haven for good value short breaks in low season for several years and this year once again we have not been disappointed. Lovely big and clean caravans with no issues. We only use the pub for a couple of drinks each evening and all 3 were excellent - look out for the offers. We have had fish and chips which are hot and plentiful. We had a chinese meal box at Devon Cliffs which was delicious.

We are a retired couple who enjoy short breaks, we don't stay on site in the day because we use the breaks to explore different areas of the country.

Greenacres, the best-run caravan site in the UK.

Just had another lovely week at Porthmadog, one of Haven's best sites for countryside and sea.
The site is spotless and apart from the occasional selfish dog owner leaving poop bags outside the next caravan all day a lovely quiet place to relax.
Despite booking a Saver caravan, we were given a Bronze so upgraded without even asking-how cool is that?
Thanks to ALL the staff that make this place so special for everybody else.

Still currently on holiday and have the…

Still currently on holiday and have the pleasure of listening to the trees above our caravan being cut down and mashed up in the wood chipper from 9 am -5 pm everyday. When I complained to customer service about why Haven would rent out the caravans to customers knowing that they will be here for at least the next few weeks all I got was that's not our department. Such a shame I cannot post the audio recordings on here because it is incomprehensible how loud it is! The caravan is actually shaking. I also cannot let my daughter or dog outside the gate as the trees are literally falling between the caravans. Will never be using this Haven again, not only dangerous but completely unacceptable. I should of read the reviews first!

Disgusting, unhygienic caravan!

We arrived at Haven Hafan Y Mor in the evening of the 2nd May this year. First impressions were good as it had a little balcony to sit outside. When entering the caravan it became apparent that it hadn’t been cleaned properly and there was damage to the caravan.
There was dust everywhere; the carpets weren’t hoovered properly, there was a hole in one of the bedroom doors, the handle/seal on the shower was propped up against the shower and not fitted, which meant we couldn’t shower. The worse was in the bedrooms in the wardrobes; in two bedroom wardrobes there were use sanitary wear, and a sanitary packed stuffed full with sanitary wear wrappers etc. In the third bedroom there was a child’s toxic waste toilet with wrappers and powder, plus plastic wrappers on the carpets. There are no employees of Haven to complain to after 5pm! We had to wake early to head to reception for 9am, no shower or breakfast at this point. We were not offered a change in caravan but were told a member of the maintenance team would be out. During the morning a cleaner came out, he took the wrappers from the wardrobes and the children’s bits, didn’t wipe the areas just left them, he hoovered some visible bits but not the whole carpet so I asked for the hoover so I could hoover the dust and bits from under the double bed. Later that day, maintenance came out to repair the shower and in the afternoon someone came to ‘clean’ the carpets but didn’t shampoo them as didn’t want to leave us with wet carpets so scrubbed a patch by hand. This should not be happening on day 1 of the holiday. Those caravans should be checked and cleaned properly prior to arrival, not once you're there! No one contacted us to ask if we were satisfied or to even offer an apology, it’s just unacceptable.
This is not a reflection on the facilities at the park, overall we enjoyed the activities we did, it was just the caravan that let it down.

Haven Thornwick Bay. AVOID! Not even worth 1 star. We had no water, so no shower,no toilet flushing, couldn't wash our hands... oven didn't work, most inconsiderate staff. Swimming changing area was absolutely disgusting. Nobody has replied to us. Absolutely shocking for a big company like HAVEN.

Hafan Y Mor

Hafan Y Mor

Visited Haven (Hafan Y Mor) which was the 5th time with the kids and is was excellent.

Arrived early in the Friday (few hours before our check in time) and was made to feel welcome and as the caravan was not ready we parked up and took a walk around the site with the kids for a couple of hours. A couple of hours later we drove up to where our caravan was in the hope it may have been ready early and happy days it was so we managed to check in at least an hour earlier than our expected check in time.

Caravan was clean and tidy, which is all you can ask for really as it’s just a place to sleep and eat occasionally.

Went to The Cove with the kids and they loved the entertainment from start to finish.

Afterwards decided to get a Papa Johns and although not the cheapest none of these establishments are cheap even when back home plus they did have offers on.

Later that night there was some noise from neighbouring caravans which were occupied by a large group of people. Could hear running up and down the caravans and shouting and the final straw came when they decided to talk loudly outside in the early hours of the morning. This went on for a few hours and in the end we had to call 24/7 security due to this inconsiderate group. Credit to the 24/7 security they were out in a flash and sorted the situation.

Next day we went to the beach and once again this was glorious and even better that the tide was just going out so there was sand for the kids to enjoy the beach and build sandcastles. Views are amazing from the beach.

After the beach we went to check out the facilities and although there was plenty to choose from was a little disappointed that the 2 facilities that the kids wanted to go on the last session had gone (it was only 3 o’clock). Explaining this to the kids was difficult so we had to go the arcade.

Afterwards we went back and got ready for the kids entertainment and went to The Cove. Once again the entertainment was excellent especially the Bingo Bonanaza as the kids loved it, as did the adults.

Decided to get to chop Stix for tea as have been wanting to try here for ages and was a little disappointed. Choice was excellent but had built it up in my head so much. Didn’t quite get the setup as ordered our food then moved down the line and our food boxes sat there for a few minutes open whilst the customers ahead of us passed as for their food and extras. The girl at the till definitely had the worst job as she had to then close the boxes, sort any additional items and take payment for the order. Instead of boxing up all these order maybe it might have been better to give some assistance at the end of the worker chain. This works in the likes of Subway seamlessly.

On the Sunday we had booked the swimming for 10.30 and was up and all getting ready for this so we were not rushing later in then got a message the pool was shut and they were working on it to get it sorted. This was 9 o’clock so we thought it wouldn’t be an issue as they would have it sorted by the time we had our slot. Walked up to the swimming and it was still closed and they were unsure what time it would reopen. We booked another slot for the afternoon as backup and this sort of threw our Sunday plans out the window (well mine as I wanted to watch the football).

Instead of the pool we went to the adventure golf and although it was fun spoilt a little by a group of 6 teenagers all messing about in front of us and playing like they were in a proper competition. Thankfully only 9 holes of this but annoying.

Later on we got the confirmation that the pool was reopen and went to the pool at our new time. Swimming was excellent and the kids loved it. Only moan is the same teenagers who we saw on the adventure golf were in the pool and with their messing about had no spacial awareness of others and we had to move from one of the pools as they were nearly going into our 2 toddler children. We could see the lifeguards had been watching their group yet didn’t do anything whilst we were there. I understand they are teenagers and we have all been teenagers before but think it was more a case of having to endure their antics within the space of an hour or so on the same day.

After swimming we went back the caravan to get ready and looked to get out to The Cove with the kids again for our last night. Once again entertainment was excellent and kept the kids interest from start to finish. Even used the Haven app to order food to our table which was easy to use and the food came fresh and hot and the correct order as well, which was refreshing considering if this was Just Eat it would have been cold and missing items (that’s another review though).

Check out was easy and we were sad to leave but definitely will be back for another weekend. As a matter of fact, booked again 🤭

Book a week at Primrose Valley

Booked a week at Primrose Valley. Caravan was lovely and cosy. Site is really busy but it is one of the biggest parks. The arcade area could really use an upgrade as there were a lot of machines that didn’t work. The show
Lounge also needs updating as its smells and the chairs were disgustingly dirty. We had a brilliant time though and would go again just not in the show bar.

Haven gave my autistic child food poisoning

We visited the Seashore site last month (21/03-31/03). We specifically chose this site as we wanted to visit family that live locally. We had visited the Caister site two years prior and absolutely loved it so thought we would try Seashore as it looked fantastic.
Arrived after an 8hr drive, check in was super quick and easy, we got to our van which was located very far away from any of the activities or amenities but the van was spacious and clean on quick glance.
The cutlery, plates, bowls etc were all dirty and marked once we started to get them out for use which isn't ideal. There was broken glass all around the caravan and over the car parking area so I swept up what I could but it was everywhere, how the cleaning team didn't spot it is beyond me.
I did not report these issues at the time as I had just driven over 400miles across the country and needed to get to a shop and settle for the evening. I am disabled so it was a hell of a journey for me.
We spent the first 3 days enjoying our stay, booked in for some of the activities for my autistic son and his Dad to enjoy and used the swimming pool once in those first 3 days.
Activities were great, albeit pricey for some of them but the staff were great and we enjoyed them. The pool was clean and had plenty to do for all ages however it was extremely noisy, you expect a certain level of noise in a public pool but this was excessive. Haven could really do with having a slot each day made quieter for neurodiverse folk. Other than this the pool experience was great.

We arrived on the Friday night and on the following Tuesday evening we decided to try the on site restaurant.
This was the biggest mistake we made.
We ordered our mains which were ok, nothing special but ok. We then decided to order dessert. Fatal mistake unknowingly to us.

My autistic son wanted some plain vanilla ice cream so we asked our waiter (Justin) who proceeded to tell us that he would have to go and check if they could serve up ice cream as they'd had issues with their freezer, he said it kept defrosting and re freezing the ice cream, now I have worked in many food establishments and I assumed they would have had the common sense and health and safety training to throw away all defrosted ice cream and not served it to the public.
Justin came back to our table and said the ice cream would be fine so we proceeded to order a bowl of plain vanilla ice cream for my son.
He had maybe a quarter of the bowl and was done, we paid and left.
After approximately 1-2 hours of returning to the caravan my son was suffering with diarrhoea multiple times, throughout that night into the early morning it was very evident he had food poisoning as he was being violently sick, chronic diarrhoea and had a fever with a headache.

We rang the reception onsite to log a formal complaint, the lady I spoke with took details and said someone would be in touch. The next day I got a phone call asking about allergies and what my son had eaten in the 72 hours prior to our visit and in the 12 hours after our visit, I was also informed that they had done an investigation and the broken freezer was not in use the night we visited the restaurant. No mention of the ice cream whatsoever. My complaint was not about the broken freezer in the first place it was about them not throwing away defrosted and re frozen ice cream but that got no mention at all.
I proceeded to give this woman all the information about what my child had eaten and that he had no allergies and once again voiced my concerns about the ice cream. I was then told a manager would contact me back.
This never happened.
I had to call 111 for my son as he was still very poorly days after. We took 111 advice and carried on doing what we had already been doing.
I then called reception back to chase this up as I was feeling very frustrated with how we'd been dealt with, to be told that a manager was never contacting me and that my complaint was sent to the central office to a woman called Julie and I would have to wait 21 days to hear anything.

Out of a 10 night holiday to visit family, my autistic child got to enjoy 3.5 days. We had to cancel swimming and other paid activities that he could not do due to being so unwell.

And since being home for the last 11 days he's still not been right. They have poisoned my child and now he has long lasting gastro issues from this situation and I am still yet to hear back from anyone at Haven. All I got was generic reply to a Google review I left stating they had not had any other complaints of this nature.

Haven you have ruined a poor young autistic persons holiday as well as our holiday and then we've just been left.

I used to work for Haven years ago and have always been a huge fan of the sites but you have lost my custom going forward now. I am disgusted with how we were treated after complaining.

Disgusting reuse of dirty bed linen!

Booked at Filey blue dolphins check in time 16:00 check out 10am.

Arrived van had not been cleaned and delayed by 1 hour so finally in at 17:00.

Pulled back sheet for son to find writing and stains in 12 year olds room. Unable to say what was written but involved body parts. So sheets left dirty!!!!

Office closed overnight until morning thankfully security helped.

Not only is this disgusting knowing the reuse sheets but also the comment seen by my son!!!!!!!

The manager better be knocking on my door in the morning as I am so angry.

Be careful booking with Haven HolidaysBooking via Haven centralised booking…

Booking via Haven centralised site we chose Perran Sands, Cornwall. Booked a 2-bed,2-shower gold rated hideaway caravan for particular amenities, space and quality as we had before on other Haven parks. Given a cramped 3-bed, 1-shower. When queried this was told they had over-booked and they considered the separate toilet and basin to be a bathroom. No alternative offered as they say you cannot guarantee you get what you booked despite showing floorplans as a guide. I accept that layout may vary but not the required amenities. So booking is obviously at their discretion and pot luck no matter what you pay for. Don't know if just misleading or mis-selling. To make matters worse, the shower had no anti-slip coating or mat, toilet seats were loose, cooker hood filthy with black things trapped between the cooker splashback and wall. Kitchen window did not open. Stained carpeting. No privacy curtains on large sliding doors which overlooked busy path/road and caravans opposite so had to keep heavy curtains closed all the time. Only a foot either side of the double bed so hard to get in and out. Doors kept jamming. Bin areas overflowing and unkempt. The list goes on. Did not feel there was any point in complaining. Only stayed on as we had pre-booked visits to attractions but left a day early in the end. Haven's complaint site so long -winded and can only be done on their app. After two attempts and then losing everything l gave up. Perhaps that is what is intended. Had booked for elsewhere later in the year but now cancelled - at least that was easy.
