Taking to them is like barking to a tree

Phoned customer service twice and confirmed notes are put in my account for traveling to the orient. Yet transaction was declined. Called using my vacation time and they made me wait for 30 min. They sent payment authorization email to address which I told them to delete years ago. It's unbelievably inefficient and frustrating to deal with. I will stop using the card first chance I have and use WealthSimple instead. Even more frustrating that they tell me to call them tomorrow to find out if the block on my card is removed. I said What! Why you frustrate your customer by giving them more work? I said send your confirmation by my valid email address. That CS said it's not up to him. I will put in the note. I am furious. Enough said.

Home Trust Visa together with Visa…

Home Trust Visa together with Visa International are useless . Avoid if you can

i mislaid my Home Trust visa card 3 days before overseas travel. Called on sunday and card cancelled . Had to call again monday to order new card . monday they said call lost card dept. i did they said call customer service again. Finally found an agent to arrange new card. it takes 2-3 days to rush a card . no good as i’d be away. Ah they said we arrange an emergency card vis Visa International to be sent to my hotel abroad. Several calls and e mails later Visa intl say ill receive my emergency card on the monday ( i flew out weds and landed thursday ). monday no card. Tuesday Visa Intl say courier issues and card would arrive by Weds 5pm
i left hotel 12 noon that weds and was flying out so i said cancel this ‘ emergency card ‘.

i arrive home find replacement card in mail. i activate it but told its on hold for 24 hrs because of emergency card. finally try to use it - declined twice. phoned home trust where agent said i was not sent a new card just a virtual card despite my telling her i can send her a photo of it. i’m told to phone back later

Utter incompetent banks. so for 18 days no access to my card account . luckily i had a mastercard !

Horrible company

Horrible company. Avoid their visa card.

EVERY login requires an SMS code.

Hopefully one day this company will join us in the 21st century and create an app with face ID.

Be very wary of using this business.

This business has forced me into bankruptcy. My last renewal without anything added to my mortgage exploded from $800 per month to almost $1300 per month putting incredible strain on my finances. Not to mention a charge for every little bit of assistance you may need. I have been unable to get a straight answer from them as to why my mortgage has increased so much ? Who ‘s new kitchen have I just financed ? Not mine.

AGENTS ARE RUDE AND LAZY, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING, EVERYBODY GIVES DIFFERENT INFORMATION, DIFFERENT TIMELINES TO FULFILLED REQUESTED SERVICE, AND THE MANAGER APPARANTLY DOES NOT USE AN EMAIL, SO HE/SHE IS WELL-GUARDED TO OPT OUT FROM EXTERNAL CUSTOMER SERVICE BURDENS.

Beware Home Trust Mortgage fees

Beware Home Trust Mortgage fees. We just paid out a mortgage to return to Big-6 bank, administration fees, tax account handling fees, maintenance fees - almost $1600 on a two year term. On top of the 1% fee taken to fund the mortgage, although I blame the broker for that one - had no idea what it was until the mortgage was funded in 2024. Wonder why people hate lenders, this is why. Gouging every possible fee they can, because they can.

I had a negative balance before I could…

I had a negative balance before I could pay it off they just kept adding payments from other payments I owed to people and ran my negative balance to over 700 dollars to were I couldn't pay it off. Then I lost my job due to having to have surgery and before I could explain this they charged off the account and closed the account. They paid all these payments without my knowledge they did not tell me they were going to do this they did it on their own. And they did not inform me they were closing the account or just recently send me a new debit card making me think I still had an account. They really need to be looked into about their practices.

This card scammed me

This card scammed me. I’ve had it for years only use it minimally when I travel, but no more. They told me the due date is is the 30th, I payed them on the 29th. They said the posted date was 5 days later and charged me interest. The amount I paid for the card was in the 1000s but the interest was 20$. When I called to ask them if they can remove it, he said sorry it’s your fault. He was not nice. When I asked to complain, he said I can’t, told me a supervisor would call back, but the number was random my phone thought it was a scam call. I can pay the 20$, but this is just a greedy corporate company. I won’t be surprised if they delayed my last payment posting so they can get people’s interests.

The approved visa never arrived by…

The approved visa never arrived by Purolator. Asked deposit of $500 back. Waiting for 4 weeks and still has not arrived. Phone rep keeps saying they’ll call me back from 4 different times over 4 weeks but they never do call. Same lies from call centre outside of Canada… we’re working on it. Never do business with this company.
Edit: waiting 6 weeks now and still no check. Call centre says same thing… gotta investigate. All BS.

A long time customer with minimal need…

A long time customer with minimal need for support.

Lately their login website for the credit card has been rejecting logins and password resets.

That requires a call into the helpline with customer support. I explained I tried multiple browsers and used a couple of computers.

I followed instructions. Waited for a phone call to reset my password. The system did not call back.

Called in again. The agent was unable to help and asked me call another number the next day.
I explained my frustration at the time wasted. At no point did I attack her or raise my voice.

She hung up. This is the second time it has happened. The first time was an inquiry about a questionable charge. The agent was unable to help, so her hung up.

Is that how companies handle customer inquires that they cannot fix now?

Outrageous service, extremely

Outrageous, they blocked my card for a payment I canceled mid payments and then they flagged as Fraud. I was ok since they sent an email and text, asking if it was me — so yes, I authorized the transactions. A notice came up said it will be unblocked after 1-2 minutes and try again, it did not and declined all of my purchases . One day pass by, still blocked. I called the customer service (number at the back of the card) then they directed to fraud centre. The fraud centre service refuse to talk to me because they had no open case on me, told me to call back customer service. Call back to customer service, they said it’s block by fraud centre and I should talk to them. And yeah I went back and forth the whole day, calling them almost 10x. End up still being close/blocked (2nd day today) and because of that I missed my bill payment that cause a late payment fee of almost $60. Its upsetting neither them don’t want to escalate to their managers or contact each other to clarify things. One star is for Louisa who actually willing to escalate it and called me back notifying me it’s unblocked, but unfortunately its not, still blocked.

declined and no pin asked for

There was nothing on my card the balance was 00.00 I went to pay for car repairs and it declined the transaction it didn't ask for a pin or nothing just declined when the shop put the amount in. Called hometrust today and they say it is because I put in the wrong pin IT NEVER ASKED FOR A PIN NUMBER so I called and told them to cancel the card I have had this happen to me 3 other times the WORST card ever

The worst card I ever had

The worst card I ever had! Refused to block payments for non authorized automatic payments for cell service, and to refund for an air ticket transaction cancelled within 30 seconds. They do not reply to claims online, and their telephone operators are plain rude.
