Zero Stars! As a victim of fraud, I just want to warn everyone about this company. They are giving credit cards to anyone even if the applicant's information is fake. Don't trust them. Customer service is useless and their managers ( I spoke to Eric) have no idea how to handle fraud accounts. We asked for a phone transcript or email contact but nobody knows how to do it. Update: they advised me to call them, it is a joke, we called both companies and asked to remove fake info and we received no help. Fraud information are still on the Equifax.

Have had absolutely zero issues with this card. Acceptance is pretty much everywhere. No being declined for no reason. Customer service is FAST to answer the phone and more than answer my questions. I was with a different company previously and had nothing but issues...Declines for no reason, poor customer service. Breath of fresh air dealing with the professionals at Home Trust.

No one to answer

Need to get important information on an investment made at HomeTrust. Neither my broker nor myself could reach someone to provide required info. No reply to email or phone! Not even the receptionist answers. Nobody calls back when a message left. Don’t know what to do. The 1-877 number provided doesn’t work

Bad investment left me poor!!!

Hello, We were your customers in 2015 and we refinanced our home mortgage. Went terrible as the amount was so high and we found TD bank to help us in 2017. TD was a great help. I wouldn't go back to Home Trust. Very expensive interest fees. Nothing left in my bank book at the end of the month.

I just wanted to give a major shout out to Anand Anantharajah for going above and beyond for helping me with my equity line visa. He was Incredibly responsive and involved. Made things much easier for me. Highly recommend him for any re financing or mortgage needs.

closed my credit card account without…

closed my credit card account without my knowledge. customer service said that they sent out a notice that I didn't receive. Because I didn't reply, that was my consent to close my account. I'm very responsible financially and had a credit score of 865 prior to the closure, the closure reduced my score to 839. If you're serious and responsible about your finances, I don't recommend doing business with this company.

Worst in the credit card company. The Website is terrible and the service is just mediocre. I do not recommend using their service. Best you stay away

Hello

Hello, I am applying for a mortgage refinance and the mortgage specialist sent me the commitment and I wanted to talk to him as I have another offer from another lender and wanted to make my decision right away. Regardless of sending e-mails, leaving voice messages he does not respond. I tried to contact customer service and they again after explaining the issue they transfer me to the same specialist voicemail who does not respond and the service is very rude. Wanted to stay with them as i am currently with them but with this service i doubt it and i do not recommend it to anyone else.

Terrible do not use

Terrible do not use. No transparency. They don’t even have a pre approval process for mortgages. So the only way to find out what you are approved for is to make an offer on a house. It’s totally useless. Employees are no help and rude on the phone. You Can’t even be put through to anyone in underwriting unless you reapply for a remortgage they won’t let you talk to the person you already talked to. Such a joke. We will be looking for a new provider ASAP.

Secured visa card 😡

Stay away from these thieves. Applied for the secured Visa card in December 2020 to re build my credit history as I recently moved back to canada and never got my card. Sent them money order for $500 and still no card, no update. Called them many many times and sent them emails but no reply. Every time I called them they were like we don’t see any update in the system or no application under your name. They were like we don’t see anything under your name so we are unable to provide you any information. Then the customer service rep. was I’m going to transfer your information to the another department and someone will get back to you in 10 days and then another 10 days. Keep going this nonsense. After following up many times, suddenly they sent me email saying oh your visa is not approved this time. Please try again next time 😡😡 then again next morning they sent another email saying please upload your ID for the verification so that we can send you your card in the mail. After all this nonsense, again they sent me email, sorry for the inconvenience and delay but your card is not approved this time. They never get back to you with any update. Really frustrating. I asked them to give me my refund back and they never reply back. Whenever I try to call or send them email they are like sorry for the inconvenience and delay or someone will get back to you in 10 business days.
They are scammers and thieves. They make money from our hard work money. They rip off people. Very disappointing and frustrating and still waiting with no response. Stay away 😡😡

Used Home Trust Visa as my main CC for a year

Home Trust Visa Canada uses a third party, US based "chargeback customer service" company to handle disputes. When I disputed a transaction for a service I did not receive, the American chargeback company required a time-sensitive reply from me. Unfortunately they handle everything via snail mail, so they sent a letter across an international border in the midst of a pandemic which required a reply within 2 weeks, but took 3 weeks to arrive. I contacted the chargeback company when I received the letter, but they had already closed the dispute and refused to do anything. I contacted Home Trust and was told they would look into it and get back to me, but never heard from them.

Home Trust's incompetence and disorganization cost me $70, and cost them thousands by losing me as a customer. Maybe that's why they can't afford a website that doesn't look like it's from 1997.

Credit cancelled 5months ago still got charge their fee.

Credit cancelled 5months ago, today received letter charge me $12 for Dormant Account Fee. Called them, they said account haven't cancel still. I even had sent the actual card back to them as they requested. They don't even deserve 1 start.

Due to a system error, this charge was also added to some cancelled and lost or stolen cards. HomeTrust is the worst mortgage company

This is the worst mortgage company I have ever experienced. They gave our broker mixed information over and over again. Underwriters told our broker document collection was complete and then didn't close the refinance.

They sent instructions to our lender 3 weeks later than expected. They waited until the day of closing to review documents and then ended up postponing the closing an addition 5 days. This company does not care about your deadlines or financial experience. They are self centered, unorganized and unprofessional. Do not use HomeTrust as a lender.

Applied for the secured credit card but since it required a $500 security deposit paid in advance I double checked how long id have to wait for my card and told in writing 3-4 weeks so i sent in my money with a extra $39 fee to expedite the process. checked in with them on week two and told again 3-4 weeks. week four ends i call again and told they actually need six weeks! I formally complain to the home trust ombudsman and next thing you know Im being asked to send in all this documentation and bank statements for "verification purposes". Even though its a violation of the consumer protection act to make new rules up to "qualify" for a paid in full product after the delivery date had expired I play along and send them what they ask for. Today i get an email I didn't meet their lending qualifications and returning my deposit! Unbeliavable.they sit on my money for a month and and don't give me my card because I had the huberis to complain not recieving it when I should have! filing a formal complete with complaints ombudsman that oversees all banks and trust companies for unfair and deceptive practices. have read a lot of reviews since this happened and my experience is not uncommon. wish Id read the reviews first and hoping you are one of those people who have. Worst company ever!Avoid!avoid!AVOID!!!!

It is very hard for me to imagine what atrocities this company would have to commit to make me hate them more than I do now. Had tried multiple times to get a Visa through them, to no avail, and with no responses. Called them to figure out what was going on, and my wife and I collectively spent well over 4 hours on hold, being disconnected several times without warning or reason. Finally get a hold of somebody, and get told that they have a large influx of applications, which is what is slowing the process down. Also got told that the waits are so long because they keep getting phone calls asking why their applications aren't getting pushed through. Neither of those are acceptable excuses for any business to give, but we are assure by the representative that our card will be on its way within a week. It never comes. Not even after two weeks. We file a Better Business Bureau complaint, and this finally motivates them to get moving. They respond to the complaint at the very end of the business day that is their deadline for responding. Their response is a lie, they say they contacted us, which they didn't. They don't call for another two days, when they finally say that the card has been approved and pushed through, and it'll be in the mail by the end of next week. Another lie, it gets here in eight days, nowhere near what they said. So that's cool, finally have the cards, call to activate. Except that they can't be activated, because you see, the card is required to be activated from a "home phone" in order to verify my location. I'm not fifty years old, and it's 2018, so that's not possible. So I call AGAIN to the help line. Thankfully this is only a 20 minute wait and I get to talk to a nice lady named Michelle (that isn't sarcasm, she was genuinely helpful) and I get my card activated. My wife has to call back separately to activate her card, but that's to be expected. These cards I now have are the physical manifestation of a sunk cost fallacy. Really hope my interactions with this company are better in the future, but for now I can't give anything more than a one star rating. (I wouldn't give zero even if I could, because like I said, I do actually have my card now, and Michelle was a pleasant enough individual to deal with).
