Our application for a Household Loan from Household Capital was unusual. Significant personal savings had been lost in recent years, due to circumstances beyond our control. We needed to move, from the house we were in, to a another house suitable for retiring and aging. The residential area most suited for our social and medical requirements was out of our financial means, unless we could recover money lost, to make the move.

The initial enquiry to Household Capital through its website was responded to by Esther Angrisano almost immediately by email offering an explanatory telephone conference to advise the services provided by the company.
Although we were not quite ready to progress the matter at that time Esther maintained timely communication by email, so by the time we decided to seek further advice we made contact with Esther by telephone.
From the initial telephone call until final settlement the service and advice Esther provided to us throughout the entire process was first class.

Both myself and my wife found Esther to be very helpful and answered all of the queries that we had in a very informative way so it was easy to understand and did not confuse us with all of the legal terms.

We would highly recommend Household Capital to all of our friends and family.

My wife & I have been contemplating our choices to ensure that we have adequate funds available to cover necessities or emergencies (including medical) together with a satisfactory lifestyle in the latter years of our retirement - we are both in our late 70's and are asset rich but cash poor.

While Household Capital interest rate is high when compared to the market home interest rates right now, the cost and disruption of selling up, downsizing & moving in order to provide an adequate cashflow is also very expensive and just too mentally stressful.

Following extensive investigation and family discussions we are satisfied that Household Capital's reverse mortgage facility currently proved to be the very best alternative to financially protect ourselves, other than selling our home and significantly downsizing.

Esther Angrisano, together with other members of Household Capital staff, answered all of our questions and provided us with information we had not previously considered. Our communications with them both by email and telephone were always pleasant, informative and professionally conducted.

Esther in particular proved herself to be highly skilled and knowledgeable in financial matters and left nothing to be asked by us to be able to agree to deal with Household Capital.

Documentation was somewhat arduous in some respects but quite manageable with the support of Esther.

Approval of our facility took less than one week once all of the necessary paper work was completed and we are now happy ( and relieved) that our financial needs are more safely under our control.

We would, however, recommend that anyone taking out a reverse mortgage should do all within their ability to meet the monthly cost of interest on their account with Household Capital, as the effect of unpaid compounding of interest (which is charged each month) can very quickly erode the equity you have in your security property.

In all - a most beneficial and valued experience - in our opinion.

We discussed for at least 3 years. Should we enquire about using part of the equity in our house and land to make life easier or more enjoyable with less worries about living standards and ever increasing bills. We checked into a couple of "money lenders" that advertise on TV or radio. Jurgen (Hermann) liked the "attitude" of Household Capital. So we decided to get in touch, not sure of going ahead with the loan. Mainly we needed to information in detail before we could decide on this very important step. Rang Household Capital, spoke with Esther who explained everything clearly. After much discussion and ringing Esther quite a few times, we decided to go ahead with the loan. It did take a couple of months to finalize everything , the paperwork was the main thing that slowed us down. My passport expired quite a few years ago. Trying to get birth certificate seemed to take too long, this was apparently because of the virus?. But we persevered, and so did Esther, and finally we were rewarded the the news that "all is OK" and the loan could go ahead. Today was the first payment, so it looks like the new paint-job in the kitchen is looking good. We will keep in touch if we have any problems, but after Household's care we feel that the future will be somewhat easier. Thank you again Esther and Household Capital.
