A nightmare company to deal with. Parcel arrived empty. Warehouse staff insisted goods were sent Only after numerous emails and having to sign a disclaimer form I did not want to sign did I receive a refund even then they deducted an amount for 'Coupon Value' - no idea what this was for. had to give one star to write review not worth any stars.

We're sorry to hear that this was your experience.

When a parcel is reported as arriving empty, we are required to carry out an investigation before issuing a refund. As part of Evri's claims process, they require a signed disclaimer from the recipient confirming what was received. We understand this can feel frustrating, but it is a mandatory step set by the courier, and we provided a screenshot of Evri's requirements to explain why we needed this information.

We would also like to reassure customers that we would never knowingly dispatch empty packaging. Our aim is always to ensure orders arrive complete, and when something goes wrong in transit, we work with the courier to investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Regarding the refund, the "Coupon Value" shown related to the promotional discount applied when the order was placed. However, following completion of the investigation, you were refunded in full.

We're sorry the process took longer than either of us would have liked, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We'll continue working to make these situations as straightforward as possible for our customers.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Sold an item that is not as described and thus not fit for purpose. This company refuses to give a full refund on return of the item. I will never buy anything else from them.

Our Long-Ear Bowl is designed with a narrower opening than a standard dog bowl to help reduce long ears dipping into food or water, and the dimensions (19 cm / 0.9 L) are listed on the product page. While many customers find this style helpful, we appreciate that it won't be equally effective for every dog, as ear length, head shape and breed can vary considerably.

We also understand your frustration regarding the refund. As the item was delivered as described, we were unable to refund the original postage costs, but we did offer a refund for the product itself upon its return in line with our returns policy.

We're sorry this particular bowl wasn't suitable for your spaniel and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, as it helps us review our product information and range.

Great service from this company

Great service from this company. The courier somehow managed not to deliver the product I purchased , even though they said they did. Hugglepets were quick with response and sorted the problem out instantly and sent me a replacement. Can’t fault them.

I was extremely disappointed and…

Mo I was extremely disappointed and concerned by what I saw in this store. On multiple visits, there were dead fish left in communal tanks, and customers were returning fish that had died shortly after purchase. This raised serious concerns about tank maintenance, water quality, and general care and manger wasnt intrested and very rude.

I also saw a bearded dragon that appeared unwell, with visible problems affecting its legs and movement. It was upsetting to see an animal in that condition.

The overall cleanliness of some areas was poor, and the standards of care did not give me confidence that the animals were being properly looked after.

I would strongly encourage management to review animal welfare, hygiene, and husbandry practices as a priority. Until standards improve, I would not recommend this store.

Following the shop’s reply, I felt it was important to respond.

Responce:
My daughter began working at the shop and shortly afterwards became seriously unwell. She was diagnosed with acute pneumonia, and blood tests indicated exposure linked to mould. We have evidence showing mould present on the walls within the fish store area.

My daughter returned to work in December but was removed from duties within the fish section of the store. Following this, the manager gradually reduced her working hours without providing a clear explanation every time this was done. During a conversation on the shop floor, the manager stated that she was on a zero-hour contract and commented that “it’s better than being sacked.”

When I questioned why this had happened, I made it clear that I was unhappy with the way the situation had been handled. To our knowledge, no staff members had been issued or signed employment contracts, and approximately six employees have left the shop in recent months due to issues relating to management.

Current and former staff members in group chats have also raised concerns regarding the welfare of the fish, stating that fish are regularly dying due to improper maintenance, including incorrect filter use and insufficient water changes. Staff reportedly find dead fish on a daily basis. While I was personally in the shop, a member of the public informed staff at the till that there was a dead fish in one of the tanks. A staff member then went to remove it at approximately 2–3pm.

There have also been concerns raised regarding other animals within the shop requiring veterinary assistance. Staff members reportedly asked the manager if they could personally take the animals for treatment, but permission was refused. Staff also asked if they could create a GoFundMe page to help cover veterinary costs, and this request was also declined.

The manager later dismissed my daughter for alleged misconduct, claiming she had failed to carry out fish water tests. However, my daughter had not worked within the fish section since December, so she could not have been responsible for those checks during that time.

All work was completed by my daughter and she worked one day a week for 5 hours of which she was out on community not even in the store, manager felt she needed to work extra 30 minutes without been paid when she questioned this the following shift was when they put her on 0 hour contract and stated better than been sacked!

This review is disappointing, but sadly not unexpected.
The claims made do not reflect the standards of our store, our team, or the care provided to our animals. Animal welfare is something we take seriously every day. Our livestock is checked regularly, tanks are maintained and monitored, and any animal requiring attention is dealt with appropriately.
What this review fails to mention is the background behind it. The reviewer has a personal connection to a former staffing matter within the business. Whilst it is unfortunate when anyone loses their employment, where someone is unable to carry out the basic duties required of their role, their employment inevitably has to come to an end.
Following that employment matter, we were threatened with a negative review. We now appear to be seeing that threat carried out through exaggerated and damaging claims dressed up as a genuine customer experience.
We will not go into confidential staffing matters online, but we will not allow a private grievance to be used to misrepresent our business, our staff, or our animal care standards.
Genuine concerns are always taken seriously. This, however, appears to be a retaliatory review rather than a fair or accurate reflection of our store.
We stand by our team, our standards, and the care we provide.

i come here every week to get food for my reptiles and love seeing their reptile selection! staff have such a good knowledge on all the different animals and their needs! i recommend!

False advertising. Fraudulently taking money.

ordered reptile food on line, paying for 16oz and was sent 4oz. Even on the email saying it was coming, my order and the different amount they were sending was listed. Since it's with one of their online companies, HugglePets, they say I have to contact the other company, who, guess what ... say I have to contact Debenhams.

Swift and efficient customer service

The item I ordered did not arrive, Evri tracking showed it had been on hold for a week. I contacted Hugglepets who chased it up with Evri for me. They were told the item had been lost in storage.
Hugglepets dealt with the matter swiftly and efficiently and they offered me a replacement or refund. I would recommend this company and would use them again.
