Calendar sync problems

So far so good with the email application, both the desktop and android app. Generous amount of storage for a reasonable price. However I have been very disappointed with the calendar function. While there is a calendar function for the desktop version, there is no dedicated app for android. Instead Inbox relies on your mobile phone native calendar app. In my case this is Google. I was hoping to leave Google altogether, but because of this calendar link, I can't. This is not great. But worse, the desktop calendar and my google calendar don't sync reliably. No matter what I have tried, there remains a problem. And further, Gmail calendar invitations received can't automatically be added to the Inbox calendar when you reply that you will attend. This is very annoying and disappointing. Also, trying to invite others to an appointment doesn't work. Other providers I have used have not had any of these issues. Tech support have tried to find solutions, but sadly have failed. Has made me re-consider my wish to remain with Inbox.EU.

Interface badly needs modernising

The first time I tried to register for the trial it told me I'd attempted too many times, even though I'd never done it before. Then it asked me for a confirmation code sent to my other email, but it told me the code was wrong. I kept getting errors until somehow I actually managed to access my new account. Not a great start.

The interface looks quite cheap and basic. You get a choice of 6 colours (which don't change in the Contacts page for some reason) and no background images. On desktop there are no reading pane display options like in Outlook or Gmail. The inbox stretches across the whole page, and when you read an email it also takes up the whole page and you have to click back to the inbox. When you're writing an email, if you press tab from the email subject field, the cursor never goes to the email body - instead you have to click the body field with your mouse. The Contacts page is written in Latvian instead of English, so I had no idea what the options were on that page.

Test emails I sent to Outlook/Hotmail from Inbox.eu ended up in junk folders.

If you want to delete your free trial account instead of waiting 30 days for them to automatically delete it, you have to give them your phone number. That is a privacy issue.

During the trial you are constantly given a popup nagging you to upgrade to Premium. This happens every few clicks and is extremely annoying.

I wish I could give more stars because the price at just 9.99 euros for a year is fantastic considering you get 100gb storage. But because of the issues I experienced I cannot recommend them at present. If they updated their UI/UX it would go a long way to making this a better experience.

Reliable email service

Was searching for a privacy focused email service with European hosting. I think that this email platform satisfies my needs. Although there are some UI quirks, it does not affect functionality.

Simple setup

Setup with IMAP/SMTP was quick and painless. I appreciate that standard protocols just work, especially for my daily workflow.

It just works

It's simple, it's cheap, everything works. It's great for those who want to transition away from bigger corporations who are happy to sell your data to whoever is interested. I truly think the future is with smaller companies (like inbox.eu) where we can still have privacy.

Bad service and answers

I am an inbox email user, their service has been poor for 3 years and my account was closed without being told the reason.

***BUYER BEWARE***!!! INBOX.EU

In my opinion, this is ***THE*** absolute worst email service provider on the planet. Not only is their software full of bugs and wierd behhaviors but, in spite of my insistence, they continue to bill me monthly for this useless "service"!!!

LACKING previous addressee list in the reply e-mail

Not a compliment this time.

An important function is lacking there.
In other email services than Inbox, when you reply to group email, usually all the next recipients will be able to see the previous recipients in the form of previous addressees list.

In Inbox this is not the case (only the first addressee is written, like the email was addressed solely to him). This possess a communication obstacle when communicating with groups of people.

I consider this a bug. Which should be solved in order to align Inbox emails with standard practice, accepted by many email services, e.g. google.

Affordable and easy email service

Best price for quality and functions email service for a small company.
Covers all my needs (pretty basic), based in EU, easy to use. Don't push additional services that I don't need and don't want to pay extra for.
Have been using them for 1.5 years already and so far had no problems.

In my view

In my view, this service provides all the necessary basis for effective daily work with e-mails. Personally, no less important point is that e-mail has very good spam filters, unlike the big service providers. Sending large files as attachments is a nice feature too.
Overall, a very robust email provider with about 100GB storage at a very competitive price (was 9.99 eur/year I guess)
