The classes were very well-structured and the grammar lessons were useful.

The thing that often makes language-learning difficult is that it's hard to get pulled away from all the podcasts, tv shows, news sites etc. in your own language that you like to watch & listen to, because most intermediate-level language learning material just isn't as interesting. Hugo and his team at InnerFrench have clearly gone to great trouble to bring us stuff that will be interesting enough to really jump start our French learning!

Great course! Highly recommend for intermediate learners. This course is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the language, as well as learn more about the different beautiful cultures that speak French.

I can’t recommend Hugo’s class highly enough. I have been studying French a long time in a rather slapdash fashion, and I was stuck in the infamous intermediate slough. The InnerFrench podcast helped me to keep improving and inspired me to try this course. Hugo’s approach deemphasizes grammar and emphasizes one’s contact with, and pleasure in, the language. I have a PhD in English Literature, and this reminds me of how, as a child, I first came to become a passionate reader. At the same time, because Hugo does not overemphasize grammar, you know that what you are learning is important. I’m sure this course improved my French comprehension and gave me a sense of forward momentum.

Even though the interface is not as slick as gamified apps like Duolingo, this drawback is more than compensated for the care with which it has been created. (Also it is better for your soul not to pay a company that is laying off a staff to replace them with janky AI.) When I didn’t understand why I had failed to answer a particular question correctly, I almost always found that my question had been anticipated by Hugo or one of the other moderators.

One last thing, pay attention to the advice that Hugo gives at the beginning about learning to learn a language. Personally, I found his tip taking handwritten notes and re-writing the correct answers to exercises helped keep me engaged.

As with all InnerFrench material, Build a Strong Core is interesting, thorough and very professionally done. I have created e-learning materials myself (as a medical academic); this was the best e-learning I have ever seen, and far better than my efforts! Well worth the effort and excellent value for money

Very well structured course combining natural language learning approach with providing the most necessary for beginners grammatical material and a lot of information about France. Great teacher, very clever way of teaching.

Hugo’s course is orderly, systematic and full of fascinating details about France, French speaking, and life in general. It plugged gaps in my general knowledge as well as in my understanding of French grammar. Best of all, I felt supported by Hugo as I worked through it. I loved all the interactive quizzes, which served to consolidate all the knowledge that was imparted in the videos and explanations. I actually felt strangely sad when the course finished. How many courses can you say that about? ❤️❤️❤️

Innerfrench is by far one of the best courses I ever studied in French. The content of the very well structured lessons is amazingly interesting. I learned do much about the French language. Being a language teacher myself of many years, I learned so much on how a language can be best taught online. Thank you! The grammar explanations were very clear and the quizzes were very helpful. Inner French has developed a set of courses in French to bring intermediates up to expert level. I have just completed the first course: Build a Strong Core and it is outstanding. The subject matter is varied and interesting; grammar is taught with a soft, but firm, touch, and one has plenty of practice in listening to "real" French. Even the exercises are fun to do!! Questions are answered rapidly and help and explanation given where requested. I recommend Inner French wholeheartedly and without reservation

I thought the combination of instruction in vocabulary, grammar, and French culture was fantastic. There are many aspects of French grammar that are very difficult and they were explained very well. The quizzes were excellent — not too overwhelming. It is also great to have a forum for asking Hugo and Ana questions about topics that you don’t understand.

I have spent thousands on various apps, books, tutors, and other resources, innerFrench is by far the best purchase!

I enjoyed the course. Videos and transcripts to download for reminders. I liked that I could go back easily to parts I needed to go over. Also I could read what other people were questioning (which didn't make me feel so stupid if I couldn't understand something).

I very much enjoyed this course. Hugo's conversations with native French speakers were quite interesting on their own, and the accompanying vocabulary and grammar exercises were very useful. The construction of the course is logical and easy to follow, and I liked that I could always go back and review earlier exercises.

Build a Strong Core is engaging and also serious. The alternation of videos with digestible bites of grammar is particularly effective, while the emphasis on communication and current usage mean that one feels part of something living and growing.

Another great course from Hugo at Inner French. I like having a structure to work through as it gives a sense of order and progression. Personally I think the grammar section is no harder than in the first course ( Build a strong core) It's a good revision though. I agree with Hugo that learning a huge set of rules is not productive . For me this course got the balance right ; the main emphasis on building vocabulary and accustom your ear to hearing French at a normal speed with engaging content and both grammar and comprehension quizzes.

I loved the course Raconte ton histoire a lot. I appreciated its structure and content which I have found well thought of, as well its exercises of comprehension and lessons of grammaire. I worked on the course with a passion as it provoked curiosity. I highly reccomend all activites Hugo and his team offers: podcasts, videos and courses! They are addictive!

Innerfrench hat mit "Raconte ton histoire" einen tollen Französischkurs für das Niveau B2 geschaffen. Interviews, die das Hörverständnis schulen abwechselnd mit interessanten Inhalten und klaren, kurzen Erläuterungen zur Grammatik. Für mich der ideale Kurs. Ich werde nun mit dem Folgekurs fortfahren.
