Supply and Install Rheem Heat Pump
I contacted a couple of companies for quotes to supply and install a Rheem Heat Pump and not only were JR Gas & Water the best value for money their administration was second to none. I received a quote the same day and had a scheduled appointment for the replacement the following day. The installers arrived at the scheduled time and completed the work within 90 minutes. Both Brandon and Jai were professional and respectful at all times. Now enjoying the hot showers !!!

Replacement of gas hot water system
I contacted 4 plumbers to get a quote for replacement of gas hot water system. JR Gas & Water sent paperwork to complete. I received the quote by the end of the day and received an appointment to attend to the replacement within a few days. Both Sean and Charlie arrived at the scheduled time and were professional and respectful at all times and completed the work within the hour. Thank you.

Awesome Heat Pump Installer in Southside Brisbane
I cannot recommend JR Gas & Water highly enough for their exceptional work installing my new heat pump hot water system (HWS)—Josh and Charlie. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and efficient.
I initially received a quote from Jarred (I think he is the sales guy) on August 1st, with an expected installation date in early September. But, I'm happy they completed the job within 2 weeks on August 13th! They removed my old gas system and installed the new HWS flawlessly.
There was a minor hiccup with the Pressure and Temperature Release (PTR) valves not being connected to the drain pipe due to height limitations. However, Josh and Charlie returned within a week and resolved the issue by connecting them to a different drain pipe.
Overall, I am happy with my new heat pump HWS (iStore 270L) and the incredible service provided by Josh, Charlie, and Jarred. If you're looking for a reliable, efficient, and friendly team to handle your heat pump installation, look no further!

Heat Pump Hot Water System Install
Last week my clapped out 16 year old Rheem heat pump hot water system was replaced with an Emerald Energy EE-HWS-A1-270E. This is a 270 litre all-in-one heat pump system, which was supplied and installed by JR Gas and Water based in the south east Queensland region.
I chose to wait one month for the install, but this resulted in a significant reduction of install price by allowing JR Gas and Water scheduling efficiencies saving them extended travelling times.
My old system was still heating (but expensively) on the heating element, so the one month wait was bearable.
The tradies Brendan and Jai turned up on schedule, and quickly got to work with the install. They really appreciated that I had done some preparation work to ensure that the vehicle and trolley access at my property was easy and level. They had the job done within 2 hours, but did a first class job, and gave me clear instructions for setting up the digital and wifi enabled control panel.
I am very satisfied with Brendan and Jai’s work, and JR Gas and Water’s efficient online quoting, ordering, scheduling, and payment system. (Oldies might find this a bit daunting but there are usually plenty of digital natives around to help.)
As for the Emerald heat pump, it is a really smart looking unit - white with clean lines - square instead of round. It is made in China to an Australian design, with close oversight of the manufacturing process.
The Emerald EE-HWS-A1-270E is one of the most energy efficient all-in-one heat pumps available on the market, even more efficient than many split systems. Check out the facts at the Victorian Energy Upgrades Program website where the true efficiencies of heat pump systems can be compared.
Warranty is better than most other heat pump brands, being 5 years on the tank, 5 years on the pump unit, and a 2 year labour warranty.
Though the old Rheem unit wasn’t too noisy, the Emerald is quieter, and barely audible when run in “Silent Mode”. It also draws less power than the old Rheem, even with the built in heating element operating if needed.
I have a 3kW solar system, and will only be running the heat pump during the day to capitalise on solar system output. The heat pump draws around 440 Watts in silent mode, 580 Watts in standard mode, and 2,400 Watts in heating element mode. If you run in silent mode it may take a few hours longer to heat up during the day on the inbuilt timer, but with even the smallest solar power system, you will still have plenty of solar headroom for dishwashers, pool pumps etc. With the free Emerald app it is easy to monitor and control your hot water system from anywhere. If you want to set a schedule to heat only during solar or off peak tariff hours, make sure you only use the control panel timers, and not the app “Smart Action” timers, otherwise strange things may happen.
