If there was a 0 star option I would…

If there was a 0 star option I would have taken it. I engaged with lifetime legal on the advice of my estate agent when we put our house on the market. They charged £80 for money laundering checks which I am happy with. They also charged £360 to instruct a firm if solicitors. We never engaged with those solicitors. We had no need to as we did not secure a buyer for our house. When I questioned lifetime legal about this after taking our house off the market and thus having generated no costs, they asserted that they had indeed incurred costs. When asked to explain what costs it transpired they had rung the solicitors to instruct them. No other costs other than a back up email. £360 for a phone call. My advice? Phone solicitors yourself and use the £360 for a weekend away. Other reviewers have pointed out the unnecessary direct debits that these people set up. Cancel it immediately. I will never use these people again
They claim below to have “reached out to me” their reach must be very slow as it hasn’t reached me yet!

Will creation service

Very helpful from the start and explained everything about the service and offerings included in my membership and subscription. I realised there was a free Will service and I went ahead. Couldn’t have been simpler and really supported by Ellie from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Lifetime Legal eased the pain of…

Lifetime Legal eased the pain of missing out on our property due to the Sellers pulling out. Through Lifetime Legal we were able to recoup 50% of the spend which is much better than nothing. Process wasn’t painful at all

I highly recommend Mover Protection. When the seller withdrew from my property purchase, I lost money on my legal fees and mortgage broker fees. Thanks to the Mover Protection team, my claim was dealt with quickly and professionally, and I successfully recovered my costs.

A special thank you to Gemma for her excellent support. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help throughout the claims process. I also appreciate the assistance from Gloria and Cal, who provided great customer service.

The whole process was straightforward, and the team made a stressful experience much easier. I would definitely recommend Mover Protection to anyone purchasing a property.

Excellent company

Excellent company. First experienced them during a house sale and purchase. They offered 3 months free trial - cancel anytime. At the end of the 3 months we continued membership with a small monthly payment and how glad we are! When our sale fell through they helped us make a claim for the costs incurred such as the survey costs and legal fees. I have made several phone calls for help and advice. Calls are answered quickly and ALL advisers are polite, helpful and knowledgeable. There has been an element of continuity rather than different people every time, and our special thanks go to Rhoda who has been excellent throughout the claims process.

Disappointing

I am extremely disappointed. Before I took out the membership, I was told that asbestos issues when moving home were covered. However, as soon as I submitted my report, the story changed, and I was told that the presence of asbestos was not a valid reason to make a claim.

In 2026, downplaying the risks of asbestos to avoid providing the cover you advertised is unacceptable. Asbestos is responsible for around 5,000 deaths every year in the UK, yet I was effectively told it was "normal" and not something they would help with. That is disgraceful.

Had I known this before paying for the membership, I would never have signed up. In my opinion, the membership is misleading and offers no value if something as serious as asbestos is excluded when you actually need to claim.

I feel completely misled and will be warning as many people as possible about my experience before they waste their money.

I had to use Liftime Legal for Anti Money Laundering service

I wanted to share my recent experience with Lifetime Legal.
I was required to use Lifetime Legal for the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) service as part of selling my house, which was fine.
However, I would urge others to be cautious about the free three-month membership offered as part of the process. After the three-month period ended, I was charged £8.99 per month for a membership service that I did not want or intend to continue.
Despite requesting a refund, I have so far been unable to recover the charges.
I believe customers should be made fully aware of the ongoing subscription and charges before signing up.
FYI This was in May 2025

Inconsiderate staff asking impossible questions. I was asked for proof of ID for one person who died in January but also for one who died 11 years ago. I was traumatised and cried for hours. No apology. I had probate, will, death certificates etc. Rhiannon was final correspondent.

Claim for costs for failed house sale

The process of claiming back costs incurred from failure of our house sale and purchase was extremely simple and straightforward.

Our claim was dealt with quickly and extremely efficiently. The staff were also extremely helpful. The whole process was completed in 2 weeks. An excellent service.
