I am the treasurer for a small charity based in East Lothian. I approached McEwan Fraser legal in August and spoke to Laura Jane Conway with a query about a property that we own. She was very professional and friendly on the phone and asked me for more details. She then advised that she was unsure regarding the specifics of my enquiry and linked me in with Chloe Shaw. Chloe was able to assist me further and, after some research by Chloe, we got my query resolved. Both ladies were polite and approachable and response times from both of them were excellent. I would definitely recommend speaking to them and I know where to turn if I have any future queries.

I was really not sure whether to give 2 or 3 stars, but ultimately decided on the higher scoring thanks to the 'agency' side of the business. So I'll start from the positive. The estate agent has been excellent from the get go ensuring my house was positioned in the market to receive the best offer from potential buyers. Everything went smoothly and I was really satisfied until the time of offer when my case was passed on to the legal department.

The conveyancing has been a roller coaster to say the least. At no point throughout the process I felt supported, appropriately advised on or like I was in safe hands, and when you pay a premium on legal fees this is absolutely poor. The first solicitor I was assigned to barely responded to my emails, so I was left in a limbo not knowing if the offer was formally accepted (it had after I chased and escalated over the phone). I could barely reach out the legal department and whenever I needed updates I had to email, phone, and chase every time. At no point I have been advised on strategic ways of handling missives and conditions such as the inclusion of my furniture of my flat. Instead I've been made to feel pressured, and anxious that my purchase would fall through for nearly two months until another solicitor stepped in.

This happened a little too last minute which meant we had to rush documentation to be collected with regards to the previous sale of my place, and again the communication wasn't very smooth. But at least slightly better than the previous solicitor. My sale was also delayed one working day before the sale due to neither the buyer nor my solicitor spotting that the transfer of funds couldn't have happened on a bank holiday.

Overall I am extremely unsatisfied with the way solicitors handled my case and I would never use McEwan Fraser Legal again in my life. The journey has been extremely stressful and very poorly managed. I would however recommend the agency side of the business who did an excellent job in helping me achieve the best offer on the property.

I had a great experience with Kenny Cameron at McEwan Fraser Legal while purchasing my property. Kenny was always friendly, polite and professional whenever I spoke to him on the phone. He took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure I fully understood each stage of the process. Not living locally I needed help to view properties and Craig Peters was exceptionally helpful. His local knowledge and expertise about Lossiemouth plus his contacts proved invaluable. I made the cardinal house buying sin, buying g a house without seeing it in person. Craig reassuring manner made it easy and worry free. Diane has been excellent in keeping me informed about viewings and feedback. She has managed to get an offer which has exceeded my expectations.

Spoke with James Milne over the phone regarding a personal matter into Legal rights. He explained eveything clearly and gave honest advice for me to make a better informed decision on my personal situation.
If I need help with it at future time I now have his details and feel confident to reach out and dicuss it further.
