Bacarat rouge 540 from Mecca

I bought Bacarat rouge 540 from Mecca, I have never been so disappointed in a perfume. It wasn’t cheap but on spraying it all I could smell was alcohol and the scent was completely gone within 30mins. Of course I can’t get a refund because I opened the box. I thought they were a reputable company, wish I’d done a review check before kissing my hard earned money goodbye. Don’t bother buying perfume from this co, they’re frauds.

Very helpful staff.

I went into Mecca as a young teen myself looking for a simple oil-free moisturiser and was kindly greeted with a staff member. I told her what I was looking for, a simple moisturiser with no harsh chemicals and not too expensive, and she pointed me in the right direction. I was able to find a lovely product and I would definitely recommend going there if you are looking for skincare and make-up. A very friendly environment!

Do not purchase anything unless you have to.I return an item without opening the box Nd received a gift card because it was "used".similar circumstances year before that I ordered foundation but this ordered never reached me it was redirected by auspost back to their warehouse and they claimed product was used.Extensive waiting time in chat I reached twice both tines I waited about 50 min and than disconnected because nobody was available.No testers in store fir majority if products and if they are available they are faded and look very dirty.

Both giftcards never worked

Both giftcards never worked. Contacted customer service and they emailed back weeks later just explaining how to use a giftcard. I replied that yes we know how to use a giftcard in 2024 but they are not working. The order never processed through and they are now saying $0 even though the order never got completed in the first place. They have now chosen not to reply after scamming me.

New lengthy delivery delays...Be Aware!

As a Level 3 Member, I reach out to other Mecca members at new delivery delays. That orders now take 3-5 days for warehouse to prep orders + 3-5 days ship time. Personally i'm in disbelief that while AFR report of their record profit YOY, that they'd cost-cut customer service this way. That we're not even given option to pay for faster processing. Last year I received orders nxt day or within 3 days Sydney metro. But I now receive 10 days from order. Last month I ordered an $800 Dyson Airwand but 8 days later warehouse still hadnt prepared order, so i cancelled & ordered with David Jones, who delivered nxt day. Seriously Mecca.. this is not okay?! And i hope more customers like me, come forward to say as much!

Very bad customer service

Very bad customer service. Online order was flagged, asked to provide proof ID through email and once responded they would get back within 2 days. Waited and didn’t get response till 5th day. So I called the customer service, they told me just 2 minute back my ID started processing, and I would get order confirmation email by the end of the day or if further info is required I would receive an email. Still didn’t hear back from them, so I contacted again they told me earlier they mistakenly miscommunicated that my ID was processing when it was not being processed, and told me to wait few more days to get response. It was a gift (Dyson Airwrap), now I neither have the money to buy from another store nor the product on time to gift.

Online customer service non existing

In store customer service has been fantastic every time. However I live far away from a store, so it's online most of the time. Just horrendous almost every single time. Last time I was on hold on online assistance, for 1 1/2 hours. I was 10th in line at the start. Once I go to first in line it becomes apparent that NOONE is actually there, and they spent about 10 minutes "transferring" me to a customer service agent and then said none available. I left an email after 1.5 hours and when I got a response, it was curt, unhelpful, and no apology whatsoever even though I made a complaint.

how GREAT is MECCA 😁😉😊

oh mecca every time I go in there I am greeted with LOVELY customer service and a INCREDIBLE beautiful atmosphere. they greet me at the door and provide lots of help when asking questions. they lead me towards products that work for my skin type and help me find items throughout the store. compared to any other cosmetics store I will always choose mecca. I went to get my makeup done there and it was a LIFE CHANGING experience I was introduced to tons of new products and I left looking the best I've looked in years thankyou very much ❤❤

Placed an order over 3 weeks ago

Placed an order over 3 weeks ago, yet to have “shipped” email. Have tried contacting via email, chat online and messenger and have only been able to talk to a “bot” who can’t help me. Extremely bad experience won’t be ordering from them again. Was a birthday present for my daughter who has now missed out.

ACCOUNT FROZEN AND ACCUSED OF FRAUD

My online account has been suspended due to “fraud” I was asked to provide proof of a previous transaction which I did then informed the account will not be reactivated until I provide a drivers license or passport. There’s no way I’ll hand them that information.

Is there any way to take the complaint higher up at Mecca?

They accused me of fraud then apologized saying they didn’t have “all the facts” .. but still will not unlock my account. Why would anyone supply them with credit card details and then just hand over their license or passport number.

Flagged as fraud! Proof of ID to purchase online!

Put order last night and this morning I received the email stating my purchase was “flagged” for fraud and has to prove my identity.

How ridiculous that in these times when identity theft is rife, they are asking me to send proof of ID by email. No other company I shop online with requests for such information.

Even mobile phone companies or banks keep saying, " Company employees will not ask you for personal information." I can't understand how MECCA can treat customers like this!

In particular, my recipient and bank card name are obviously the same. They are just looking for trouble with me.

I will not just hand out my driver's license everywhere. Who knows what you will use it for? You could apply for a small loan even though I do not know.

I checked online reviews and found that many people have had the same thing happen to me, and MECCA continues to receive negative reviews.

Anyway, I will never buy anything from them again after this. I'm really disappointed with MECCA company.

Gift Card

I received a Mecca gift card as a Birthday gift last year (July 2023) for $40.00 from a family member.

When I tried to use the card 6 months later, I was told that they apologize if I have received a faulty gift card, but they can't help me unless I have proof of purchase.

I don't have that proof of purchase, so they expect me to get my family member to go through their bank statements to find the transaction.

Obviously, they have had this problem before, in fact the girl in the mecca store told me they had.

This is extremely poor service!!!!!!!

I will not purchase another thing from Mecca ever again.

Terrible Service

I made an online purchase last week that was picked up by their fraud team, possible because it was a larger amount for gifts. The team asked me to provide some documents such as licence and a bank statement to confirm my identity which I did. They responded it wasn't enough. I asked to cancel the order as I did not think it was right to interrogate me and ask for personal details like I was applying for a home loan to purchase 2 bottles of perfumes. They said they would refund the order however its been 3 days and no proof has been sent to me that the order was refunded.

I received my online purchase today and…

I received my online purchase today and found 2 products are faulty - dirty jars & packages and damaged content. After opening a support case online I spend couple of hours explaining where issue is and provide an evidence. Customer service told me I need either to go to the store or post items to get a refund. I was not offered any compensation for my disappointment, and effort I need to return these products. Why Mecca's fault should be covered on my cost? They should review refund policy. I feel they do not care about my case and my feelings, but rather send me a standard email

Dissapointed

I'm a frequent shopper at Mecca and on this occasion in December I went into the store to use a gift card I received for Christmas. I went to pay and was told there was nothing on the gift card to use. I was with the person who purchased the gift card for me (from another store) the team member then had to call head office and inform my friend that the gift card wasn't paid for!!! How? She received a receipt, the card was gift wrapped and the amount written on it. this was a mistake of the original store, but the embarrassment we both felt on that day was disgusting. I called Mecca head office after exiting the store and was told nothing could be done or compensated- after all the money we have spent combined. I'm questioning spending more money in-store and the level of customer service received isn't up to my standard.
