Not clear info & expensive import charges

Very misleading information. Order placed on 2nd March received a letter today from Parcel force to say I have customs charges of £56 to pay. (On top of a royal mail delivery charge.) This should be stated clearly when making the purchase not on some hidden page on the website. Cant comment on the product as i dont yet have it!

Regarding the customs charges, If we could wave a magic wand and remove any customs fees we would. As I'm sure you can appreciate, these are government charges in the UK which are completely beyond our control. We do mention on our website https://www.metalshop.uk/s/terms-of-delivery/ "** Warning We deduct VAT from the price. However be prepared to pay VAT + Customs duty according to the laws of your country. Customs are paid for orders with cost higher than 135 GBP. If you cannot accept the shipment due to your inability to pay the customs, we deduct return costs when you get refunded."

Impressed with the service but not the hidden import costs.

I was really impressed with the speed of dispatch and the quality of the product when it arrived eventually. However, it took nearly a month to arrive, because it got impounded in UK customs. Also i had to pay a fee to get the goods released by UK Parcelforce of £58.09 (to cover import VAT and a clearance fee), which I was extremely annoyed about, as I was not warned about this when I ordered the goods. Unfortunately, because of this I will not be using Metalshop to order from again, which is a great shame.

I loved the boots

I loved the boots. However I wasn't too happy with the import duty on top of the purchase. Particularly as it wasn't described in the sale.
I could have bought them from the UK at the same overall price, without delay.

Dårlig indpakning

I er ikke særlig gode til at pakke glas og porcelæn ind.
Det er længe siden, jeg returnede en vandbeholder af glas, da den var totalt smadret, da jeg modtog den, og jeg har stadigvæk ikke fået mine penge retur.
Min anbefaling er, at man ikke køber noget skrøbeligt fra denne shop

DO NOT use this Company. I retuned a package to them on 6th December and as of today, I have STILL not received my refund !!, absolutely shocking customer service.

Latest update: Hello again Sarah and it appears we couldn't locate your parcel in EZI as inadvertently you'd provided us with the incorrect order number and we didn't have the tracking details available to us. (Always a good idea with any return to let us have the tracking number if possible.) However the good news is that the claims team have issued your credit note and the money has been refunded so do keep an eye-out on your bank statement. Please do allow a few days because while the refund has been made from our side, it may take some time to appear on your statement. (I know from personal experience that some banks are quicker than others!) Caroline.

Poor customer service

Update 7/1/25: I have since had a response from customer services

Customer service is pretty poor. Still trying to resolve a faulty order that I first contacted them about on 12/12/24. Last email from them was on the 20/12/23, I have sent 2 emails since and I am still yet to hear back. All the emails from them were not helpful at all either. Pretty sure I’m being ignored at this point! Very unhappy and would not order again

Not in UK, expensive and unreliable postage

Firstly, this is not in the UK - it is in Czech Republic. They charged £8 for postage and it took 12 days to arrive, missing Christmas. Avoid.

Horrendous experience from the start of…

Horrendous experience from the start of ordering goods, basket paid for and waiting confirmation email . Money paid out the bank and started getting complete your order emails ?
After a few messages it's apparent no harm was done as it was a duplicate order 😕
No tracking for over a week and then I was informed I had to pay 30% duty on some shorts and t-shirts.
Read the reviews these are shit hawks !

2nd Update: Hello again John and my colleague Andrea has informed me that she has been in contact with you by email....

You placed two orders, one of them was paid for, the second one was unpaid. For the unpaid order, you naturally received automatic emails reminding you to make the payment. We resolved this, and Andrea cancelled the unpaid order.

Regarding the incorrect tracking information you received, Andrea has addressed this issue and it seems the tracking with POST NL shows the package movement with a delay, which understandably made you anxious.

Andrea also explained in the email that you need to pay customs duties. In response, you mentioned that you don't have such issues with our competitors. This is possible because those companies may include the customs duties in the product price.

The money has not been refunded yet, as we are waiting for the package to be physically returned to us. The return process can take up to three months, and Andrea has informed you about this. I am very unhappy as I placed an order…

I am very unhappy as I placed an order 4 weeks ago and still haven't received it. Tracking is not available for the order either and I have only had 1 email saying you are looking in to this. Very disappointed as I spent alot of money!!!
