What an amazing service
What an amazing service. I was offered a consultation on the same day and sent the necessary treatment for next day delivery. Thanks to Dan who was lovely and professional.
Update: changed to 4 stars as I was told my antibiotics would be delivered next day, only to be informed by the courier there’s been a 48hour delay which is less than ideal as you want to treat infections as soon as possible. Such a shame, perhaps this is more the fault of the courier than the surgery.

Not a suitable service for acute infections
The video consult service is good. However, it is an inappropriate method for UTI’s, when an antibiotic is needed; it is just not suitable to have wait 30 hours to receive the medication. What one would expect is to receive a QR code & then the patient could immediately go and collect the medication from a local pharmacy. Having to wait it out for a next day courier service delivery -is just not suitable for the management of bacterial infections.

You raise a genuinely valid point about the nature of bacterial infections and the urgency they can require. We'd like to clarify that our service is designed primarily for patients who prefer the convenience of home delivery; for example, those managing ongoing conditions or who have difficulty accessing a pharmacy in person. For acute infections where speed is critical, a walk-in pharmacy or GP surgery (if appointments are available) will often be the faster route, and we'd always encourage patients to choose whichever option gets them care most quickly.
On the QR code suggestion: this touches on a meaningful gap in how digital pharmacy services currently integrate with the wider dispensing network. It isn't something we're able to offer at present. Please note that pharmacy first is available at your local pharmacy; so if you're able to visit your Pharmacy, you don't need to use our service to speak to a pharmacist.

Appalling service
Appalling service, meeting the pharmacist was good, prescribed antibiotics as I was unwell and I am an asthmatic. They have taken 46 hours to get to me. I have two pharmacy shops around the corner from where I live. Why did they get delivered by a courier. Waste of money and dangerous for people who need medication asap. Won’t use again. I hate to think how much it cost, a waste of tax payers money

To provide some context: our same-day dispatch cut-off is 4pm, which is clearly stated on our website. As your consultation took place after this time, your medication was dispatched the following business day. We're sorry if this wasn't clear to you at the point of booking.
It's also worth clarifying that My Local Surgery is a private service and operates entirely independently of NHS pharmacy funding, so there is no cost to taxpayers.
Our service is designed for people who prefer remote consultations and home delivery; it isn't a replacement for walk-in pharmacy access, which remains available to you locally. We'd always encourage patients to use whichever route gets them care fastest, and if your need is urgent, a local pharmacy will often be the right choice.
We're glad the pharmacist was able to help you, and we hope you're feeling better. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Prescription never received
The appointment through My Local Surgery was quick and efficient. However, I was told I'd receive my prescription within 24h and am yet to receive it, 4 days later. I've been in quite a lot of pain and discomfort since then and will probably have to book another appointment as the situation has now worsened. There doesn't seem to be anywhere to raise this issue on the My Local Surgery link I got from my GP nor online. Of course I've already paid for this. This is quite unacceptable.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Our CTO has already been in contact with you regarding this issue; however, I wanted to personally respond on behalf of our team.
Please accept my sincere apologies that our service fell short on this occasion. Your order was dispatched in good faith via DPD’s 24-hour service on 2 February. Regrettably, it appears the parcel became delayed within their network from 3 February onwards, and we were not notified of this at the time.
While we recently transitioned to DPD following similar issues experienced with Royal Mail, we fully acknowledge that the responsibility for ensuring your medication is delivered safely and promptly rests with us. I am truly sorry that we did not meet this responsibility and that this situation has contributed to a worsening of your condition.
A full refund for your order was processed on 6 February. Unfortunately, arranging a replacement prescription would still require additional time to process. Given the urgency of your situation, we would therefore strongly recommend visiting a local pharmacy, such as Boots or Superdrug, where you can discuss your symptoms and obtain the medication you need as soon as possible.
Once again, please accept our sincere apologies. We are currently reviewing this incident with DPD to understand what went wrong and to implement measures aimed at preventing similar delays for our patients in the future.
