Yes it's a scam
Yes it's a scam, I stupidly paid $199 as a pensioner plus an extra $39.95 for the photos to be emailed. They didn't email me photos and I could copy them from their website for free. The photos taken with a phone weren't great so I sent 3 emails asking for a refund of the $39.95 as they hadn't emailed them and asked If I could replace the photos of me for photos that I'd organise myself. No reply, just tried to call them but couldn't't get through. Don't waste your money or time with OnCue.

I signed up and got my first gig a few weeks after for 5 days work !
Oncue agency is transparent with everything. They are the one who’s working hard to find jobs and get the availability from talents. If the talents are not available, they won’t get the jobs.
Easy communication and Always get back the communication through email and text
This is my dream job to work in a Movie industry and hopefully I can get more work to gain more experience and can turned from background extras to a successful artist one day.

I should have done this 20 years ago. Remember when you we're young & everyone told you to get a real job? Go to work, avoid the boss, stress about office politics, all with a fake smile?
Well this week I had fun! Made a bunch of new friends, was treated better, ate better and was paid better than any real job I've ever had. Stress free work. I'm happy.

Great Experience
I signed up and after about three weeks I received my first role as an extra in a film set in the 30s. It was fun the fitting phase and seeing how a crew works on a big project, there were about sixty of us extras

This week I finally had my first…
This week I finally had my first experience on set. It really was a fun experience where I got to meet a variety of wonderful people including extras, crew, etc. On set I was given dynamic instructions including the ability to act out in the background as my own character. Being a creative writer myself I naturally took to this and enjoyed turning myself into something I came up with on the spot, like others in the cast, and interacting with them.
The food provided was lovely and breaks were managed well especially when considering how large of a production this shoot was, so I was told. Of course being my first shoot I had no frame of reference but naturally I trust my more experienced peers on set. :)
Now the only reason my review is at four stars instead of five is primarily the call notices. Being sent to the crew only twelve hours before the shoot leaves very little time for preparation, and you only get these after you’ve already confirmed availability, it’s hard to know what you’re getting yourself into beforehand. I understand this may not be a fault of OnCue’s but I’m more rating my experience as a whole on an objective basis. Which also leads to other minor things like shelter and heating on set. The shed really wasn’t ideal for dozens and dozens of people and the heating generators weren’t cutting it either. Unfortunately I did develop a cold.
However, aside from a few aspects of this production that I would have liked to see improved in the ways that were aforementioned by this review. It was a great experience with great people and a great scene. I hope I can use this to continue as an extra as it’s just a lot of fun, but also hopefully break through into film in acting/writing capacity sometime as I would like to progress in that direction. I’d like to express my deepest appreciation for OnCue who no doubt work hard to help make these opportunities happen.

Excellent Introduction to the Film Industry
After registering with OnCue Talent in Dec 2024/ Jan 2025, I recently completed my first booking through the agency—a five-day background role on the feature film ‘The Big Fix’ (Starring Marlo Wahlberg and Riz Ahmed).
From the initial booking through to the completion of the shoot, the OnCue team were professional, responsive and supportive. Communication was clear throughout, and whenever there were last-minute schedule changes, the team kept everyone updated as quickly as information became available.
As a first-time extra on a major feature film, I really appreciated the guidance provided before and during the production. The experience gave me a fantastic insight into how large-scale film productions operate, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside an incredible cast and crew.

OnCue - What I thought
Attended the OnCue information session in Sydney following an ad I saw on Seek. Was curious to see what this was all about Information session was good and reasonably well explained. Paid the $295 fee for the establishment of the online profile and taking of "professional" shots for your portfolio.
The "professional" photos were poor and taken by some assistant. There are a few with my eyes closed. Really? That is poor. I have uploaded some others which are better that I took myself.
Positively, I have received numerous "save the date" opportunity type emails over the past 3.5 months and been successful in getting 2 movie extras call ups. It's certainly a different experience than you would think initially. Overall enjoyed it and this process is good.
Was concerned about the payment process for the jobs you are chosen for. The online portal has a section for you to enter your banking details for payment. However, that's not used by payroll. You receive an email from payroll asking you to enter all your personal bank details for each job. I am concerned about the security measures here but am assured "everything is fine" by payroll.

Fascinating and extraordinary experience
It is my first time ever working as Extra and I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up. All the steps were clear - confirming my availability; then confirming my schedule; get to the venue on time then everything rolls accordingly. It was fun and different from my usual routine - staying up until finished filming for the day, having a pie at 1am, wrapping up at 2:30am/3am, getting home around 4/4:20am. First feature film experience
I recently worked as a background extra through OnCue Talent and had a genuinely great experience. This was my first feature film and the whole process from booking to on-set was smooth and well communicated. Call times and updates came through reliably, and the production itself was brilliantly run.
The conditions were cold but the team on set were professional, empathetic, and great at managing such a large group of extras. I'd absolutely recommend OnCue to anyone who is realistic about how the industry works opportunities depend on your profile and availability, but when you do get booked it's a fantastic experience.

Wow first time industry experience.
Wow! Everything is so fast paced once the ball starts rolling. Signed up and asked fo availabilities for roles. I did have afew rejections before landing a extras role. It was a steep learning curve working on a big production. Everyone was super helpful and kind. Even when under the pump and you could tell they were stressed out. I learnt to just go with the flow and understand instructions can change on a drop of a hat.
Oncue were very quick and diligent in ensuring onboarding for production was completed as quickly as possible. There was some delay in communication later down the line but with possibly thousands of people working for them its understandable.
Over all a really positive experience. Would recommend this agency to others.
