Could not be happier with my horses
Could not be happier with my horses. I have shares in 5 horses - Sabrina, Nickelby, Hacker Des Places, Getaway Lily Bear and Ile De Jersey. I have been involved with horses all my life, and had a love for racing since I was young (including a membership in the sister company, Elite Racing Club), and even though I do not get to see my horses in person (as I am from the North of Scotland), I sleep well at night knowing that communication is overall very good and that OG will always put the interest of my horses first. Trainers reports are always good, and it’s lovely to see regular update videos even in cases where the horse may be injured and on box rest or in a field. When the horses run, win or lose, it’s always a thrill to watch them. Best race to date was Hacker’s win in the last at the Aintree festival - to watch it live was something special. Share prices are very reasonable when you don’t pay anything else until your renewal. If i could buy into all the horses I would! Very happy owner, could not be more pleased with how Owners Group is run.
Overall Experience Review - Peter Hicks
I have been with Owners Group since about 2015 and during that time there have been a great many highs and some lows, which is always the case with Horse Racing.
From reading the magazine correspondence pages and being a member of several Facebook groups dedicated to Owners Group, I would state that the vast majority of owners are either pleased or satisfied with the service or experience that they enjoy.
Owners Group provide a vast array of information, either in the form of videos or horse reports and give an accurate assessment of each horses chance whenever they appear on the racecourse. All very enjoyable and informative.
Although some people are, I'm not bothered by which trainer is responsible for each horse from a geographical location point of view. I am interested in the horse and enjoy seeing what the different training methods are.
Overall, I have enjoyed my experience with Owners Group and I respect the transparency with which they conduct their business and the interaction with their customer base.
I have been involved with over one hundred of their horses, so, you can take my levels of enjoyment and satisfaction from that figure.
Long may they continue to offer the same affordable micro ownership of Racehorses as they do at the moment.
Affordable & professional
I have been with Owners Group for two years now and have quite a few horses. It is an affordable way to be involved with horse racing. I have always found Owners Group to be very professional, informative with regular updates from Trainers, videos and a monthly magazine. OG have the welfare of the horse as a top priority. Obviously you have the good and bad to deal with as you are dealing with live animals but it is good to follow the journey of the horses hopefully through to them winning races. Don't expect to make a fortune, take the good and the bad and you will have a good experience.
Fantastic
Great staff efficient. I'm so proud of owners group for looking after the horses I love being an owner of horses I have. I can't fault anything. regular updates regarding horses. Thank you so much

Joined Owners Group in 2018 and its a totally FIVE STAR plus experience with some beautiful horses and very helpful staff. Upper most with Owners Group is the care of the horses and their well being... Its excellent value for money, the weekly updates, the glossy monthly magazine... The value is totally amazing for the amount a share costs! Its wonderful to follow a horses journey, and feel a part of it all... Keep up the great work Owners Group you are second to none...In fact you are a WINNER all the way to the post...

I have been part of Owners Group for approximately 7 years. It is such good value. They supply weekly updates on all your horses, a monthly magazine, the chance to go tothe trainers yard and see your horses and also the chance to go racing and get an Owners badge, all this for around £1 per week.
But most important, the horses are always looked after from their first day in the trainers yard until they retire. Each horse is treated as an individual, never over raced and always given time to develope
I have been a member of Owners Group…
I have been a member of Owners Group since 2016 and am really enjoying the experience, over the last 2 days I have renewed my shares in 4 of my horses for a TOTAL of just over £100. Fantastic value, NO other costs at all. Free magazine, videos, stable visits.
A fun way to experience horse racing.
Owners Group is a great way of getting a toe into the horse racing world. For a small fee, usually £50 to 60, you get a proper share in a racehorse for one year. There are usually between 2500 and 4000 shares available so a lot of other people are involved with each horse. And you get the VAT back as current govt. rules allow this. To renew a horse for a further year usually costs between £25 to 30 but there is no need to renew if you think the horse is not going to be interesting for the next year.
What the share money pays for is shown for every horse, nothing is hidden. Of course not all horses succeed at racing and this is clearly explained as well. It's an entertainment, not a way of making money or beating the bookies. You get weekly email reports on your horse and notifications about entries. Also a monthly magazine, stable visits and there is a small chance of getting an owners badge when your horse races.
There is an excellent website and app and helpful people on the end of the phone if needed.
One thing I particularly like is that horses are taken great care of during training and when retired, are found first class homes.

I have always found Owners Group a great syndicate to be part of.
Great value for money .
The stables visit are great too.
Sadly for me i was sucked into this own…
Sadly for me i was sucked into this own a share of a racehorse scam, i purchased shares in two of these ownersgroup non runners only to be told constantly they were not able to run due to an injury picked up on the gallops or had developed a bad cough or have suffered a back injury or has a bruised foot the list of reasons as to why they were unable to run was unbelievable then to be told they have now been carted off to equiprep for a long rest and will not be running for the foreseeable future but are having a lovely time in the field with all the rest of the ownersgroup retired horses is ridiculous, they are supposed to be racehorses not grazing horses !!! My friend also owns shares in two different ownersgroup horses and is experiencing exactly the same nonsense from the trainers as to why they wont be running, my advise is to stay well clear from this scam or you will be robbed and lied to constantly and if youre lucky enough to have a runner the chances of it running again are as likely as luke harvey winning the national !!!
I have 13 different horses in this…
I have 13 different horses in this group and wouldnt say no to a refund on them all. Overpriced horses that hardly run, information just waffle, same owners vas Elite Racing which is best avoided as well. Better sending a donation to animal welfare. The only people making anything from these companies are Wentworth Media who own them. You really own nothing except a cheap photo and share certificate. Never expect the owners badges they tell you that you can apply for, the chances of getting one are about the same as winning the lottery. Information they supply you can get from any racing newspaper. Dont waste your time or money but if not convinced look up Wentworth Media at companies house and you will see whos lifestyles you are funding and where your money goes. Elite Racing and Owners Group are a brilliant way to have someone else fund your hobby, what other way could you have horses run every week in your colours up and down the country and have other people pay the bills for you?.
Syndicate Membership is great if you are realistic.
I've been a member of Owners Group since 2017 and had a lot of pleasure out of it, and although Getaway Trump has hit a rough patch since his fall at Aintree làst year he does seem to be pulling back. At the end of the day Owners Group buy the best horses they can find for the budget they have. They could buy more expensive animals but that would raise price of shares without guaranteeing more winners. A racehorse could have best pedigree in world but if it doesn't have the temperament to race or is prone to frequent injury then you will be no better off. It's a living creature not a machine and I just wish some people would realise that before they rush to buy shares then moan about their choice not doing much.
Race horse scam
No word on compensation this lot are getting away with conning the public and should be looked into please do not buy a share in any horse syndicate its a scam
Don't bother throwing money away half…
Don't bother throwing money away half the horses in owners group get retired after a few months when they race and injured or go on a long holiday they send a magazine and crapp reviews and to get a badge to enclousure on race day that's a joke there making their bank balances bigger with person like us it's rubbish these lovely horses can only do what they can then it's off to a retirement home or rehomed elsewhere then offer shares in another horse for a few months disgraceful !!!
Well run firm with full transparency
Well run firm with full transparency. Those who complain think that horses are machines that run and win all the time. The reality is some are useless mutts on the racecourse, some never even get to the racecourse, that is the how racing is. For an initial outlay of less than £60 for the year with no further charges for that year, you get a weekly update on your horse, be it good, bad or indifferent, you get videos and a monthly magazine, a chance to attend the races as an owner if your horse should make it to the races and stable visits to see your horse in the flesh. The T & C's are very clear as to what you get for your money and if you are unlucky enough that your horse doesn't run, you don't get a refund, the horse still has to be fed and cared for and that is where your money goes. Even after the horse has finished it's career, this group ensure that the horse is still cared for after racing, not thrown aside like a piece of garbage. So don't buy into this group if you don't give a stuff about animals, if you want to win races - go buy a video game.
Disappointing
Was bought a share in a horse as a Christmas present, we renewed after a year. Shortly after renewal at the beginning of 2021 we were emailed to say the horse was going to be retired from racing and put into equestrianism and we would receive a refund. No news since then, very disappointing.
Totally Recommend Owners Group
I have had shares in several horses over the years and it has been great fun! I have been lucky enough to have a few winners (on one occasion with an owner's badge) and I would recommend getting involved if you're truly interested in Thoroughbreds and have a sporting temperament. Very professional, great horse welfare and a really creative use of "crowd-funding".
Really disappointed. Not even one run. Waste of money.
Really disappointed. I bought a share in a horse for my grandad as he loves racing and they havent done anything with the horse of value to us.
Embarrassing that I bought a present that was a farce.
If Id have known it wouldnt get anywhere near racing for the full 12 mnths, Id have sent the money to a local animal charity, where it will have been more worthwhile.
All ive had is updates saying hes doing well, having a run in a field, having a holiday, coming on well, on the gallops, hurt his foot........what a waste of money.
IF YOUR HORSE DOESNT GET ANYWHERE NEAR A RACECOURSE YOU SHOULD GET ANOTHER YEAR FREE.
Theres nothing that Ive received for gramps which is of any value, not even been able to watch it in a bumper - nothing at all.
No experience whatsoever. I wish I hadnt bothered, I feel let down I feel he was let down by me - buying, well, nothing!
No owners experience for him, not even an offer of an extension - just keep sending me emails seeing if I want to pay more money out for another horse and another and another.
Sandalwood was the horse I got. No indication when I bought it that he wouldnt get to a racecourse within the year.
Great fun, well worth the money
I have shares in 20 horses with owners group and have found them to be a well run and professional horse racing syndicate. For a small initial outlay usually around £50 you can buy in to the dream of owning a racehorse. It's great fun and so exciting even if you don't win. The problem is that many of the people who join these Syndicates know nothing whatsoever about racing and have unrealistic expectations thinking the horse will run every week and win every race. Some think it's a way of making money by betting on the horse and scream foul as soon as the horse does not win. The horses do sometimes get injured or turn out to be not suitable for racing but that is the luck of the draw, you pays your money and you make your choice. For £50 it's a great way to have some fun and sometimes enjoy the thrill of owning a winning horse. I highly recommend owners group they are very transparent and are one of the best racing Syndicates I have come across.
Genesius
I bought a share and it wasn't expensive at all for one year. It is lighthearted fun, can't take it to seriously. I love watching the videos and seeing the character of Genesis he is so intelligent. And he won his last race. I have shown my grandchildren, my neice and nephew, they thought I was riding it 😂 and he lived in my flat all fun. ☺
