Fantastic quirky gift of racehorse ownership.
I bought my elderly mum a share in GetawayTrump a few years ago for Christmas and she gets so much enjoyment from it, and he has won quite a few times now. Pre lockdown she'd go in the bookies to watch his races and loved telling everyone she was one of his owners (albeit her share is probably worth one of his whiskers!) This year she bought me a share in Pearl Warrior who has turned out to be a bit of a donkey so far with dodgy joints. Owners Group are fab and send lots of email updates and info and a monthly glossy magazine through your door. I would recommend them if you are looking to buy someone a gift that is a little bit different.
It's in the field with PENTLAND HILLS
It is with a heavy heart l write this as my father in law has now passed on. He bought shares in kodiac pride for me against my advice .it ran was nowhere. When the subscription ended he was to poorly to renew in hospital. I since have discovered it ran 3 times in eight days winning all three times starting off two days after the subscription had lapsed and quess what has only run once since placed 5th so owners group gets the prize money while members lose out and pay another year shame on you all at owners club you are a disgrace we can see how you are operating and give the sport a bad name.
Past owner won't be again.
Love being a member and enjoy seeing…
Love being a member and enjoy seeing horses I have shared in,not in it for the money (but don’t mind getting some) we know racing is a luck sport, have enjoyed about 23 winners where I have a few shares that’s my enjoyment,it’s a great sight
there are some who follow horse racing…
there are some who follow horse racing who think its a way of making money from backing horses, I'm sure if you asked them most of them do, and it's the same people who join the owners group under the ellusion that this is also a way of making money and moan about being robbed when they don't.
The owners group is an affordable way of being involved in horse ownership, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes racing,
Still waiting for my horse to even run
Have shares in 2 horses but after nearly two years I'm still waiting for one of them to run.
One horse has had a few runs and has won a race and I'm happy with that , however the other horse I have shares in apparently injured himself in his stable so could not run for the foreseeable future...He is now fully recovered but has still yet to run even though I constantly get emails telling me that he has been entered into a particular race and then another a day or so later another saying he is now not running.
Its becoming very frustrating and I can't help feeling that I have wasted my money completely
Fantastic!
Well for 59 pounds im very happy. I have a share in a 3 year old horse called Sandlewood. For this price i really dont know what people expect. I wouldnt have had any chance of owning my own horse. I dont think people realize how much it is to keep and own a horse. Everything so far is great, free monthly magazines and also the staff at head office are very polite. Cant wait to see him run, win or lose if he comes back safe ill be a happy bunny!
Oh Jim!
They have a price transparency link on each horse.
Go figure they make money!
Perhaps Jim will buy a £70,000 horse & cover the training etc for cost price? I’m in!
In fact there is a syndicate that does Exactly this, they have a horse currently at £4.500 per share & £250 a month, get in Jimbo!
As for My Friend Stan he is a 3 year old, been placed a few times & unless he gets injured will win races but if he doesn't that is racing.
Here’s the real “reality check “
Here’s the real “reality check “ !
There will be the headline winning horses and there have been some good winners
BUT so there should be .. each horse “sells” for (for one year of ownership ! ) about £200,000 (4000 shares at £50/share) . Tidy number that and most of them are pretty average , some are absolutely useless (eg My Friend Stan) . It’s a great business for the Owners Group - sell average horses for the price of a Group 1 winner .
Taking on the multi-millionaires with £50
I have 8 horses with Owners group, 7 have run so far. I am not joining the band of moaners and groaners,(Victor and Victoria Meldrews) in fact the opposite. I receive weekly reports on all of them, video's, monthly magazines, stable visits, even get VAT returned on every horse, chance to be in the paddock as an owner. Horses with the top trainers in the country, A brilliant facility (Equiprep) for if my horses are injured and need special care/operations etc. (no extra cost to me). When their racing days are over they are often found new homes, not just forgotten about.
I have found Owners Group to be excellent value for money, a constant interest and excitement unbounded. Best £50 per year (roughly)per share I have spent.
Stunning Horses
My wife and myself have shares in 5 horses glad to say we've had 2 runs so far we got a plum last and a beautiful winner so the bookies have paid for the horses can't wait for our next runner , owner group is a cheap way too own a race horse
How is this not a scam
How is this not a scam? Elderly mother bought shares for her granddaughter, it sickens me to say how much, horse is still “resting”, hasn’t run and is unlikely to until the date the shares expire so that it can still be classed as a novice, so the Owners Group website says. It’s pure daylight robbery.
Terrific value for money.
It's sad to see negative reviews here from folks that have no idea of the realities of horse ownership. Whether you pay £50 for a small share, £5,000 for a larger share or much much more for full ownership, the high's and low's of the reality of ownership are exactly the same. A horse may like many never win a race, very few do and even fewer go on to win more than one. Your horse may suffer injury and not race for the whole season or worse however large your share.
The Owners group allows the excitement of ownership via a pricepoint, that brings the prospect of ownership to those that can only dream affording the cost of full or part ownership. The tips, owners badges, stable visits to your horse and magazines make it superb value apart from course results.
I have had several Owners Group Shares and currently have shares in four including Getaway Trump that has been very successful on course. Two friends I have introduced have shares in three each, both having a share in 'In The Cove', which has been placed 4th, 3rd and 1st its last three outings. Of course, the small share in your winners pot is smaller than your initial outlay, but that is the case for all owners whatever their outlay. I have found there is usually enough in the pot to go along way towards the cost of renewing, so we can continue the dream of that big win. I can thoroughly recommend the Owners Group to those that wish to experience the thrill of ownership without breaking the bank.
It’s not about money and fame.
I bought a share in a youngster in January 2020 as it’s fun watching the horse progress from green gelding to almost a race horse. It’s not about making money or winning, it’s about sharing a horse’s racing life. Good or bad. If you buy a share expecting instant results and riches then you’re fooling yourself. I now have 3 shares in different horses and I can’t wait to see how they grow. Race horses need care 24/7 even if they’re not racing, by buying a share you are helping that horse realise his/her potential. I’m really enjoying my shares. Thank you Owners Group.
Total con!!
I bought a share in a racehorse for my husband for Christmas. It was the most wasted £56 I’ve ever spent!! What a con. I didn’t ever expect the horse to win any races, after all it was only £56. I did however expect the horse to take part in an actual race in the year of the ownership, even if he came last. It was about the excitement of having a share. All we get are updates on how the horse is eating some lovely grass, he’s doing really well and has been out for some light exercise.
Total waste of money!! Don’t bother.
You’re better off getting a share in a donkey. At least that would be a good cause.
NOT ALL GOOD!
I have a share in a horse and on the face of it, this is a well run club. However, although the outlay is small I have estimated a gross profit of around 80k on one animal based on its auction price. Of course there are huge annual costs but the profits involved must be staggering. Also you will be bombarded with requests to buy other shares and even with this Coronavirus having a major impact on life and racing the emails are still coming selling shares. This company is linked to Elite Racing Club and they have a long history and good reputation selling shares. I myself am not keen on this constant up-selling.
what an easy way to be a racehorse…
what an easy way to be a racehorse owner. everything is laid out in the terms and conditions before purchase and it is stressed that the welfare of the horse is paramount. it may or may not get to the races but the ride is thrilling. it also is not an investment so don't expect to win your fortune. it is exactly as advertised a bit of fun and cheaper than a night out
Great value for money.
Great value for money.
You can get a share in a horse for around £40-£60 for a year. Get weekly updates, video updates, entry updates chance of owners badge.
Only thing is its too addictive as I have 33 with them
My father owned shares and following…
My father owned shares and following his death there was a very small balance on his account. I requested they send the balance to my mother who was his sole beneficiary. Took them 3 weeks to sort out after being chased and No condolences at any stage and even had the cheek to deduct an ADMIN fee of £2 from the balance. Disgrace of a company in my opinion!
I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in horse racing
I have had shares in eight different Owners Group horses during the past few years and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in horse racing. I receive weekly updates on all my horses from the trainers, and fabulous videos taken at the stables and on the racecourse. I can go to stable visits and to see them run at the racecourse, you really do feel involved as a small share holder and when your horse wins a race it's brilliant. Owners Group take great care of the horses and their well being is first priority above everything else.
My friend bought me a share in one...
My friend bought me a share in one horse for a Christmas present. I am disabled following an accIdent and enjoyed the website and took a keen interest having been a horse rider myself. Unfortunately, my horse injured herself at her trainers yard and looks as though she may never run now. However, in the early months of ownership I was enjoying my present so much I decided to purchase a share in another two horses myself. I am having great luck with one and the other shows promise. One has been placed on each run and now won his first race. The other has run green on first two outings and may need to strip a few kilos as well but there is still time to achieve more yet. Horses are not machines and many factors have to fall into place, as well as good luck, before a horse can win a race. Only a very small percentage of horses win a race and an even smaller percentage win more than one race.
