As two nervous first-time buyers, we chose Pearsons as our conveyancer based on a recommendation from a friend who had a great experience with them. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to those expectations.

From the start, we struggled with technical issues accessing their app to complete forms. Instead of helping us resolve the issue, we were just sent paper forms. In the end, we had to contact the app provider ourselves to gain access - something that felt like it should have been handled by Pearsons rather than left to us.

Throughout the process, communication was lacking. We often had to chase for updates and explanations, but responses were vague and unhelpful. As first-time buyers, we made it clear that we needed guidance, yet we felt left in the dark most of the time. By contrast, our friend had a conveyancer who kept them informed at every stage - something we unfortunately didn’t experience.

One particularly frustrating issue was the delay in starting the searches. We assumed they were underway, only to find out three weeks later that nothing had been actioned. During this time, our conveyancer was unresponsive, and we later discovered they were away - without anyone informing us or covering their workload.

The only positive was that, despite these issues, the process took around three months in total, with the final two weeks moving quickly once we chose a completion date. However, the overall experience was stressful and we wouldn’t use Pearsons again.

We were also told we would be contacted regarding a Deed of Trust and later about setting up a will, but we have yet to receive any follow-up on this.

Amazing! This firm are professional and tenacious but with a staff that make you feel like family. I cannot recommend them enough. Absolutely brilliant.
