Great service
Rapid delivery. Arrived frozen with only sustainable packaging. They really think about the environment. The kidneys i ordered were lovely can't wait to try the beef but that's for christmas.
So disappointed
So disappointed.
I've been buying from Pipers for awhile now and have previously given them a 5* review based on their fabulous food - it is still wonderful - but, in my opinion, there are other issues that need resolving, particularly delivery and loyalty.
1. Delivery
I appreciate couriers can be a nightmare but I have had issues with every delivery. Pipers contract DPD and the local guy here literally leaves boxes on the street (I'm south facing at the front) and unless I'm sitting at my laptop or have my phone in my hand so see the delivery notification, it could sit there for awhile given that the window is an hour.
My last delivery = defrosted items (not because they it had been sat in the sun), broken glass (a jar had obviously been put in the freezer along with the meat), all left on the pavement outside (thankfully only for 5 mins this time).
While Pipers have refunded the damaged or defrosted items each time, I'm not an isolated incident. Pipers need to review and police their service level agreement more actively and frequently.
2. Loyalty programme
This has really been the icing on the cake for me.
We all know that loyalty programmes are not really there to reward loyalty but to drive further sales and I don't generally have a problem with this - marketing 101. However, due to being out of the country recently, I lost 2000 points. Pipers FAQ state that points expire if you do not use them within 3 month. I had been hoarding mine for a big shop closer to Christmas so it can be argued that I should have read the details and been aware. In their defence, Pipers did also send a reminder, which hadn't been noted (I was on holiday). Anyway, the timeframe to use them seems unreasonable for frozen food and when customers are trying to buy in larger quantities in order to keep miles down from an environmental standpoint - surely that's part of their mission?
I have been ordering from pipers farm…
I have been ordering from pipers farm various cuts of meat and roasting joints and dairy products including selections of cheese, all products are of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Always delivered on time and in good condition.
Very good experience
I had a very good experience with Pipers Farm. There was an issue with the DPD delivery which was no fault of Pipers Farm, the driver took ill partway through his schedule. I called customer service and spoke with Liz who was extremely helpful and took steps to find out what was happening, she called back as promised and even checked in the next day to make sure the delivery had arrived. The meat itself has been delicious, much tastier than supermarket meat. There really is a difference and it's well worth paying a little extra. I will be ordering again.
Meat sat for 48 hours in a warehouse. Not acceptable
I've been using pipers farm for about three months now and with a couple of hiccups early on I've been satisfied. However my latest delivery is over 48 hours late and sat in a dpd warehouse somewhere. Response from the customer care team is, our packages are designed to last 2-3 days on the road. When I get my parcel the food is usually just still frozen, I'm not expecting that to be the case when it arrives. Looks like a months worth of food will have to be cooked and eaten in three days. Will not be using again until they can deliver to schedule the meat is too expensive to take this type of gamble.
Last delivery the steak was substandard compared to previous. I understand they use a variety of local providers so you will experience this.

happy customer
Since my first order about 6 weeks ago, I will now only buy my beef from Pipers. Excellent quality, well packaged and delivered on time.
Excellent meat produce
We regularly get lovely goods from Pipers Farm. For the past few years we order our bronze turkey for Christmas which is delicious and when I have special occasions, extra treat throughout the year. It is quite expensive but the quality very good. The customer service fantastic too. Would highly recommend Pipers Farm.

Order for diced lamb went through without any problems. The lamb was not fatty cut in reasonable pieces. The order came on the day I stipulated and was well packed. The lamb made a good batch of stew and is quite tasty.

Swift delivery in sustainable packaging. Meats outstanding quality and lovely seasoned. Venison burgers and the raw butter are my favourite products so far. Still need to try steak and mince. Love it.
Absolutely disgusting piece of meat
Absolutely disgusting piece of meat. 98% fat. Nothing edible.

Amazing quality food
Amazing quality food! You can genuinely taste the excellence in the meat from the fact that these animals are farmed in a very caring and conscientious way.
It's night and day difference between what you would get in a supermarket and that's not hyperbole. Will regularly be shopping again and again with this company ,happily amazed!!
My husband placed an order with this…
My husband placed an order with this company ,
We were disappointed with the cuts and explained his issues on the pipers farm feedback page , and heard nothing from them , ( my husband is a recognised professional chef retired and has a great knowledge in quality meat )
The concerns we had was
1, the meat was frozen completely through on delivery, this was not down to freezer packs to keep cool whilst in postage but to freezing before delivery ,
We buy in bulk then process the meat to our needs , however we would have had to defrost the larger cuts to do so and then re-freeze , a dangerous practise at best ) ,
2, duck breast advertised as a two portion breast ? , a two portion for a starter not as a main.
3., Double cut sirloin steak , premium price for a premium product , however the cut we received came from the very thin end of the loin , this end has a tough sinew through the centre which is inedible.
There are other uses for this end with little loss to profit .
4 , Top side was lean with all fat cutaway , preference to have a fat cap or not should be sorted if not stated.
5, Pork chops/ cutlets had skin removed ,again no choice , the cut in this case were from the high fat end. to meat ratio end of the loin , option here would be preferable ( jack sprat moment ).
6.Pork belly, ribs removed ,an awareness of this would have been preferred.
Over all ,
the quality of the meat is fine , however the expectation of what is purchased in this case was disappointing ,
Being frozen through on delivery was a major issue.
Price is not an issue when buying a premium product , but value for money for us here it was not.

Unreliable delivery and poor customer service - not recommended
I would not recommend ordering from Pipers Farm. Their system automatically used my old address despite me updating my shipping details, sending a large perishable order to the wrong location. Customer service refused to redeliver or refund, insisting that I collect it myself, which was impractical. Responses were dismissive and ignored the facts of the case.
Their system is unreliable and their customer service is unhelpful if things go wrong. If you value receiving your order safely, I would think twice before purchasing from them.

great until something goes wrong with a delivery and then they don't want to know! I was spoken down to and shall never ever buy from them again. Cutting across and saying 'sadly' every now and again does not make for good customer care.

Excellent service and quality.
My first order was really good!I purchased beef joint and two cuts of pork plus sausages. All were excellent, very tasty.Animals properly reared. Will definately purchase again for xmas holiday!
The food was beautiful
The food was beautiful, we had the meat pack and you could tell the difference in quality. Knowing where it came from is a big factor for me. Just ordered the lamb and belly pork. Going to be a lovely weekend👍
Amazing food!
The food is amazing and that is what makes Pipers Farm amazing! Love their products. I only gave 4 stars because the delivery was not the Farm. DPD left the bag at the bottom of next door, even though the shop was open. So I only collect it when I received a message the box had been delivered and went out to see if anybody else had receive it! Appalling behaviour from DPD driver!
Halal honesty
I am a meat-eater and not a vegetarian. I do, however, take an interest in where meat comes from and how it is produced, which is why I check with producers, butchers, and suppliers before making a purchase.
This purchase was no different. I checked in advance with Pipers Farm Customer Service to inquire about any Halal involvement. I received James's written assurances that they endorse traditional British slaughtering practices in all their products.
"We do not follow any religious slaughtering guidelines as we prefer to utilise small scale, local, family run farms, many who slaughter the animals on site to minimise stress."
" We really do aim to be as transparent as possible with our customers and our core values in farming are what many may see as the ways in which our country has been doing for a long time now".
Hopefully, the meat part of my order complied with these explicit assurances; disappointingly, the Collagen powder supplied did not. The product was Halal certified, as stated on its package.
This contradiction may have been the result of a miscommunication between James and his shipping department. However, that's giving him the benefit of the doubt because I've had no further communications from James since returning the Halal-certified product via registered and tracked Royal Mail on August 19th - and yes, I have checked my spam mail.
It is, of course, entirely up to a supplier what they sell, what they say about what they sell and to whom they sell it. Nevertheless, trust has been eroded. So, until we are all living under Sharia law, my family will seek out and purchase from more ethical, humane and transparent first-world meat production suppliers.
Piper's ticks all the boxes
I have been buying meat from Piper's Farm for a few years now as I'm more choosey about where my meat comes from and Piper's ticks all the boxes from the quality of their products and packaging to animal husbandry. Great customer service too.
