Terrible Management
I travelled with this airline on July 11 th booked with Expedia from Manchester To Entebee via Doha , whilst on the first leg I received an email saying my flight to Entebee was cancelled and I was being diverted to Nigeria ( not happening ) long story short it was an horrific journey that saw us having to stay in Doha overnight and not set off to Entebee untill 10.25 the following day .
I have been given the run around between Qatar and British Airways trying to claim compensation for the fiasco of this trip but everyone passing the buck , would never fly with them again
Extremely poor customer service
Extremely poor customer service – complaint unresolved for over a year
I am extremely disappointed with Qatar Airways and, after more than a year of trying to resolve this matter privately, I feel compelled to share my experience publicly.
Our flight QR601 from Peshawar to Doha on 12 May 2025, connecting to Birmingham, was cancelled. We received no telephone call or SMS notification and only discovered the cancellation ourselves through the Qatar Airways app.
When we urgently tried to contact Qatar Airways, we experienced repeated problems with the app and customer-support system. We were repeatedly required to enter OTP codes, automatically logged out, and eventually our account was locked for 24 hours. This made it extremely difficult to obtain assistance or arrange alternative travel.
Despite the urgency, we were not offered a practical alternative until 25 May 2025 — almost two weeks later. Earlier flights were available, but we were told that business-class alternatives would require paying an enormous additional amount. We even identified available economy seats ourselves through the Qatar Airways website, only to be disconnected during the chat before we could complete the booking.
Eventually, we had no choice but to purchase replacement Qatar Airways tickets from Islamabad to Manchester, costing £1,010.60, compared with approximately £400 for our original tickets. We also had to travel from Peshawar to Islamabad and accept arrival in Manchester rather than Birmingham, creating further inconvenience and expense.
We subsequently submitted a formal complaint requesting reimbursement and compensation.
The truly unacceptable part is that more than ONE YEAR later, our complaint remains unresolved.
Despite repeated telephone calls, emails, SMS messages and online chats, we have still not received the refund/compensation we have been seeking.
I understand that flight cancellations can sometimes occur because of circumstances outside an airline's control. That is not my main complaint. My complaint is about the way Qatar Airways handled the disruption and, most importantly, its failure to resolve the financial consequences for more than a year.
For an airline that promotes itself as a premium international carrier, I find this level of customer service completely unacceptable.
A good airline should be judged not only by how it treats passengers when everything goes smoothly, but by how it treats them when things go wrong. In our case, Qatar Airways has failed that test.
I would strongly urge Qatar Airways to review this case properly, reimburse the amount claimed, and provide a satisfactory resolution without any further unnecessary delay.
Very disappointing experience. I would not have expected this from an airline of Qatar Airways' reputation.
Small bag not allowed
I didnt go through thrird part agent i bought directly. I am a regular flying last incisent and this time outboubd ibwas allowed to take small under seat bag. Return flight i was not alliwed and i had throw things and put my laptop in my hand luggage then broke my laptop. I am not sure now. The service is not great.
They do not honour compensation offers
Its been almost 2 years and Qatar airways have still not processed a promised compensation for 250 USD for changing our flights. Customer service never replies and there contact centre site does not work.
Unclear credit card verification policy caused delay and stress at Gatwick
I had a difficult experience with Qatar Airways check-in at London Gatwick that I think other travellers should be aware of.
At check-in, I was asked to present the physical credit card used to book the ticket. This requirement was never mentioned during booking, on the payment page, or in the e-ticket/itinerary. I was able to show proof of payment via my bank app, and the card was in my own name, but I was still delayed for about an hour and asked to move between multiple counters.
I was travelling with my two-year-old child who was unwell, and the delay caused significant stress. Despite this, there was no flexibility or consideration of the situation during the process.
What made the experience worse was a comment from a member of ground staff, who stated words to the effect of: “Just because you have a child with you, I am allowing you to board; otherwise, we would not have allowed you.” This was distressing and felt unprofessional, especially given that my booking and payment were legitimate.
After the incident, customer care indicated that such verification is normally handled earlier, not unexpectedly at the airport, which made the situation even more confusing.
I understand that airlines may have fraud checks, but requiring a physical card without clearly informing passengers in advance is not reasonable—especially given how common digital payments are today.
I would strongly recommend that anyone flying with Qatar Airways carry the physical card used for booking, even if it is not mentioned anywhere in your documents, to avoid potential issues at check-in.
Very unprofessional
Very unprofessional, not responding to call!
Absolutely the worst airline I have to deal with
Absolutely the worst airways I have to deal with.
First encounter: lost a tailored suit on one of their airplane. I have flagged it out to them at Doha when I am transiting from Singapore to London ( I forgot to take it off the plane). They promised me that they had a hold of the suits and would send it back. I even offered to reimburse the cost of delivery. After kicking football front and back, nothing was achieved. I have followed them up in a month or so with no response from their customer service. No emails sent back to me.
Second encounter: trying to invoke EU261 to rearrange my flight from France to Singapore as they are obliged legally to fly me the same day - absolutely no way to reach out to them. Tried phone, live chat, waiting - nothing comes out of it. Eventually I have to cancel, and to my surprise I cannot track the progress of the refund and my money is still not back.
Highly not recommended. This is an airline with absolutely zero sense of customer service - they are banking that you won't have a class action against them. Shamelessly ripping of customers.
I like to depend on reviews but having…
I like to depend on reviews but having used Qatar Air twice to Australia we have had nothing but very good service. From check in, transfer at Doha and the cabin crew has been exemplary.
Dear QR,
I really love this airline's economy class. Comfy seats and a myriad of entertainment on the Oryx One is really what I expect on a flight. However, I have deducted 2 stars for their constant change of aircraft and their outdated cabins. On their 777-300ER, their most commonly used plane, you'd expect all of them to have new, modern IFE. However, this is not the case. Their screens are from 20 years ago, so you can barely see them, and sometimes the remote won't even pop out. Compare this to the exact same plane's QSuite, and it is a big jump. The A330 is not great either. An aircraft that was supposed to be grounded last year is still being operated. The screens are somehow worse and the IFE is not touchscreen. They are intentionally decreasing the quality of their economy on some big routes and all small routes to force you to upgrade. They'll add free Wi-Fi but refuse to update their hardware. I expect better from this airline immediately.
I paid extra for window seat and they…
I paid extra for window seat and they didnt gave me one and my whole flight was a disaster as couldn't ger comfortable
Atrocious business class experience
Paid almost £4k for a business class upgrade only to be seated in a ripped seat with frayed and split furniture. Also the door to the water cabinet wouldn’t stay closed. Terrible experience DO NOT TRUST THEM. Was told at Doha airport by Qatar staff that I would get a refund. Reached out to customer services who took weeks to reply only to tell me that would not be refunding me. I will never use this airline again. Best in the world?? Not by a long shot. Ryan air would be more comfortable and a lot less money!!!
Qatar Airways makes refunds impossible after bereavement
Title: Qatar Airways blocks bereavement refunds
I had a booking from Stockholm to Bangkok for dental treatment in October. Sadly, my father passed away on 18 September and the funeral will take place on 9 October. According to Qatar Airways’ own policy, a full refund should be granted in the event of death (bereavement refund).
I submitted all the requested documents: death certificate, medical certificate confirming the family relationship, booking confirmation, and proof of payment. Despite this, the airline refused to confirm receipt by email and communicated only via Facebook Messenger – a channel that neither banks nor insurance companies consider reliable.
Instead, they now demand a “birth certificate” – a document that does not even exist in Sweden for adults – as well as an expensive notarized translation. These are unreasonable requirements that make it impossible to receive the refund.
My case is now being pursued through both my bank (Mastercard chargeback) and my insurance company. Qatar Airways’ behavior shows that this is a company you cannot trust when it comes to bereavement refunds, and I want to warn other travelers about their completely unprofessional practices.
staff are not with it

Subject: Compliment to QatarAir Air Hostess
Subject: Heartfelt Compliment for Maseeha Nitin – Flight QR1476 on 30 June 2025
Dear Qatar Airways Customer Care Team,
I am writing to extend my deepest appreciation for the exceptional service we received on Flight QR1476 from Dar es Salaam to Doha on 30 June 2025. While the entire Business Class crew was outstanding, one individual truly made our journey unforgettable – Ms. Maseeha Nitin.
I was travelling in Business Class, seat 3E, with my wife, children, and grandchildren. From the moment we boarded, Maseeha welcomed us with such warmth, grace, and professionalism that we instantly felt at ease. Her kindness and thoughtful care for each member of our family—spanning three generations—were both touching and deeply appreciated.
Maseeha’s attention to detail, genuine courtesy, and natural ability to anticipate our needs made the entire experience feel seamless and special. It was more than just excellent service—it was heartfelt hospitality that made us feel truly valued as guests.
It’s clear that Maseeha is not only a skilled and dedicated professional but also someone who carries the spirit of Qatar Airways with pride and authenticity. She made our flight a joyful and memorable experience, and for that, we are truly grateful.
Please convey our sincere thanks and best wishes to Maseeha. She is a credit to your airline and a shining example of excellence in service.
With warmest regards

APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE
We should have picked up a connecting flight in Doha on 24th June. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled due to the closure of the airspace over Doha. When we arrived in Doha we were met with absolute chaos. There were no staff to advise us and no water or food available. After 6 hours we eventually received some water. We heard from other passengers that food vouchers were available. When I asked a member of staff I was given the incorrect information and was refused food at 3 outlets. IN TOTAL WE QUEUED FOR 18 HOURS. We are pensioners and found this both stressful and exhausting. When we eventually got to the customer service desk it was like a rugby scrum. An elderly lady collapsed and needed medical care. I also alerted staff that some passengers were lifting the barriers and skipping the queue. The staff were not interested. We found the staff to be rude, unhelpful and dismissive. We were treated like animals and found this experience traumatic. DO NOT FLY WITH THIS AIRLINE
Disappointed as paid for luggage…
Disappointed as paid for luggage protection service
Disappointed as paid for Guaranteed baggage service (£1,000 compensation if luggage lost and not returned within 24hours).
On calling last minute.com to obtain the service paid for firstly they told us we did not Pay for this service which was on our receipt to get in touch with Qatar Airways. We had to recall back to be told they actually can't help and suggested we get in contact with the provider (as even though you purchase through them they have no responsibility you must contact company directly) Needless to say this company was in the US and were not very accessible or helpful to access.
Finally bag arrived 4/5 days into trip without no clothes and forced to go from an island to the capital Male to buy something to wear.
After all this disaster once back and due to all the international calls being made during the trip to Qatar Airways to solve the issue a phone bill of 690.52 pound has been charged.
Lastminute.com wanted nothing to do with it so why are we going to use them again.

Avoid Qatar Airways
Avoid Qatar Airways; their staff is rude and untrained, and when you complain, you get irrelevant political responses. On my last flight with them, they scammed me by charging me for full luggage just because the weight was 25 kgs instead of 23 kgs.
They used to charge me between $15,000 and $25,000 per year. Now after 3 failures, one after another, I will never go on their plane again, even if I have to take a taxi.

Qatar Airways is an absolute disgrace
Qatar Airways is an absolute disgrace. My belongings were stolen directly from my luggage, including my wife’s diamond ring, my children’s toys, and even essential vitamin tablets. This is outright theft, and your incompetent staff did nothing to help or take responsibility. For an airline that brags about ‘world-class service,’ your customer care is a complete joke. Your employees are unhelpful, dismissive, and clearly trained to avoid accountability instead of solving real issues. I trusted your airline, and you failed completely. This is not just negligence—it’s a violation of basic customer rights. I will make sure everyone knows how unreliable, careless, and untrustworthy Qatar Airways truly is. Shame on you!”
