I was told that the car I was interested in had a lot of people booked in to view it so felt rushed in to making a decision. The car was a total nightmare and ended up costing me a lot of money. Every mechanic I took it took had never seen such decomposition under a car. I would definitely not recommend them as a company as I feel they were very dishonest.

My daughter purchased a car from these clowns, she’s pregnant so can’t carry baby on motorbike, the supposedly road worthy car is ok for now but has a gearbox fault which was not disclosed😡😡 now the dealership won’t answer the phone, cars off the road and she’s lost her £500 deposit, this guy needs stringing up

Absolutely shocking! DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO PURCHASE A CAR FROM HERE! I rang about a car which they advertised as IMMACULATE, they told me over the phone this was popular so I would need to pay a deposit, but if I didn’t have the car I would get my deposit back, I turned up to view the car and it was damaged all over! My partner noticed loads of things wrong so we didn’t have the car, the salesmen said I would get my refund by Monday 6pm, I have had nothing! We have rang over 100 times, NO ANSWER! We have messaged, NO ANSWER! Absolutely shocking, we are taking this further

Absolutely shocking spent 15k on an A class, daughter had it a week and it developed a brake noise. The place washed there hands of it and were not interested in replacing the worn brakes and also told me if you fit new discs you don’t have to fit new pads !!!!! Stay away their are better car sales places that will look after you

Avoid this at all costs.
Brought a faulty Mercedes A class car from here within 3 days of driving it after being told it had a full service and MOT carried out in a put up tent not a proper building... Glow plugs came on which the car was then returned after being fixed and was told the car was fully working again within a day more problems occurred with myself having to take it to a fit for purpose garage as was concerned this vehicle was not fit for purpose this is the list below of faults after inspection.

1. Rear seat belt connections faulty
2. Exhaust connections not fitted correctly causing issues
3. Turbo leaking
4. Rear suspension mounts faulty
5. Oil proven not changed on the service carried out by R&W

Was advised by a certified garage to hand car back ASAP as the cost of repairs required would be extortionate.

Contacted R&W to explain these issues and assist with this was advised to contact the warranty department of which none of the above issues all of a sudden was covered and with calling and emailing R&W with no call backs or replies and not willing to help or refund the car.

Would not recommend at all stay away from this cowboy garage. Place needs shutting down.

Be warned. I bet there are decent cars at here, however if you bought a faulty one, it is left for you to deal with. When told that coming to return the faulty vehicle, was offered to come with solicitors if I want a refund. So basically cheecky cheaters, nothing more.

Bad communication and customer service! Avoid!

Was in the process of buying a car and signing finance documents when I had a notification the car had sold - the man who was dealing with this for me didn’t even tell me and was continuing to persuade me to buy the car! Very disappointed.

Found 2016 Mitsubishi ASX on Autotrader, went to view car in person which was clean, and as described. Was able to take the car on a decent test drive around the area. The car aside, I found salesperson Ami very polite and helpful

Update (11:35 12/12/2023) When I got the car home after collection I noticed a slow puncture, I wasn't sure if this happened on the drive home or how the car was sold so I decided to just get the tyre replaced. This is when I discovered there were no Lock Nuts with the vehicle. When I called up R&W (Ami), they mentioned this car doesn't have lock nuts and apologised he didn't inform me. This cost £100 to remove and replace with new lock nuts

The following weekend after I bought the car I decided to drive it from London - Oxford. On this drive it flagged up the car engine was overheating so I decided to enact the warranty and get the car looked at

The Mitsubishi specialists determined the car hasn't had an MOT like I was told it was sold with, as it had a number of old parts not up to standards, no oil, old air filter etc

The car has now been in the garage for two months, its has new thermostats, new water pump and the overheating issue still isn't fixed. It appears the car has had a complete bodge job of the cooling system and potentially the car was in an accident hence all these issues

It was at this point I decided to start the process of returning the car inline with the contract and stated terms, I left a message to R&W indicating this was my plan. Now, a few days later I have heard nothing, no response to emails and no one picks up the phones which go immediately to answer machine, both landline and mobile. This is why I have now updated my review to reflect not only the experience overall but the lack of contact and communication

In January 2023, I bought a vehicle from this company, and I must say, they are the worst. When I went to get the vehicle, the guy at the desk was so obsessed to sell me the vehicle, that he messed up my email address in the warranty agreement, and up to this day, 7 months later, I still haven't received my agreement. The weird thing is that we spoke over email before, he had my email address on his computer, he was just supposed to copy and paste, but his level of obsession for making a sale blocked him from doing his job right. Even after I mentioned that to him, he still hasn't rectified the issue. After some time, I called them and asked them to rectify that and send me the agreement, but they still did not do it. After a couple of months, I called them again and a rude lady picked up the phone and asked to cancel the agreement because I have not received the proper documentation she basically told me to "p**s off" and her argument was "Who wants to cancel their warranty any way?!". They were also supposed to do a complete service to the vehicle, which they did not. Also, after I checked the car with an authorized service, I found out that there were parts of the car that were changed, so the vehicle was involved in a collision. Would not recommend people to buy vehicles from them.

It was the best car repair experience I’ve ever had the owner was nice the other man and women were nice and they showed me what was wrong with my car for a low price!!!

Dealing with R&W Cars over these past few weeks can only be described as an ordeal. The car I purchased had “dangerous defects” with brake pipe connection leaks and unsafe tyres. They stated the garage (a large national company) was untrustworthy and instructed me to drive the vehicle back for their independent assessment. Communication was non-existent during the refund process, and once completed insisted the vehicle is picked up within 4 days or face a financial penalty of £40/day. They actively discouraged me, multiple times, from taxing the vehicle as “the car currently has tax till December” and took multiple attempts to gain the new keeper supplement to do so. I was informed at point of purchase, that the car could be returned within 14 days without question, which turned out to be a lie. After this exchange, and what I suspect is a delight to R&W Cars, down £600.

Bought our second car from R&w cars again outstanding service ,Mel could not of done more for us all parking dents removed and machined polished as agreed , car looked like it was almost new when we arrived , in short very friendly bunch make it a pleasure buying a car . Thanks R&W

As a woman I don't usually enjoy buying new cars and often feel intimidated or uncomfortable, this was 100% the opposite. I found a car online and called to arrange a viewing. I arrived 30mins early and I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to take a look around the car early. I took the car for a test drive and made the purchase there and then. As expected I had to wait for the car to be valeted and put through an MOT. At no point did I feel uneasy or pushed into making a purchase. I found the experience pleasant and relaxing and the staff were extremely helpful. I would definitely go back again!

Myself and the Mrs decided to our upgrade the disco 3 to the sport due to the ULEZ restrictions etc, I explained the importance of the reliability of the car since my partner and 2/4 children are disabled.

Despite this they proceeded to sell us a car that looked the part but was far from it…
When I questioned the DPF functioning and tests carried out since they played dumb. They had their chance to fix it and tried to flush a shot DPF, returned it and a month later back in limp mode return to dealer. This was despite frequent Mway trips and regularly putting the car through its paces, we had to go to the ombudsman who arranged with the finance company a visit from a specialist to detail the issues, they were extensive and we obtained right to return the vehicle. The fact the refused to update me after being forced by the finance company to fix it or communicate thereafter upon return of the issue shows a complete lack of care and untrustworthiness. Avoid at all costs and look around a bit longer!

When it’s comes to R&W cars (Peterborough) STOP at all costs I repeat DO NOT purchase a car from them, where do I start, at first speaking to Nick he seems like a decent individual but he is a wolf in sheep’s clothing an absolute crook and in all honesty i would love to give him a nice hiding, with that being said I am also to blame as I didn’t do the recommended checks before heading to Peterborough to purchase my BMW 520d, as you see in the pictures there was an immediate problem with the drive train as soon as I started driving, upon arriving in London I discovered after taking the car to service as it had not been serviced since 2015 with that more problems start to unfold, new tyres where needed he had also fitted the car with new brake pads and left the old discs on the vehicle which is warped and shakes every time I’m breaking all I have to say about this place is AVOID at all costs the money you’ll spend after purchase is NOT worth while and nick i hope you see this along with the smug people you have working with you in that shambolic “establishment”

I should of read reviews on this company before I purchase a car from them, during the COVID-19 lockdown my current car broke and was not worth fixing so been looking for a particular car which I found at R&W Cars Peterborough they even though I’d had all the questions answered they wanted me to sign all the paperwork before they would get the car ready so given the current circumstances of the lockdown I did WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS so I arranged to collect the vehicle on the Saturday on late evening on the Friday I received a call from the manager saying their service centre has been closed due to a Covid outbreak ok so I wasn’t able to get anymore time off work both sides agreed to have the vehicle delivered the following Wednesday!

so the vehicle arrived as promised and the delivery driver could not get away fast enough asked me to sign the paperwork as he was unloading the vehicle when the vehicle was off loaded he handed me 2 keys for the vehicle and said the flip key is broken and that’s how he got given the keys great £35 to get the key refurbished!

Started checking the vehicle and found the front left tyre was very low on tread I measured it at 1.3mm the road legal limit is 1.6mm so had to take the vehicle to get the tyre change but before I did myself and 3 other family members checked the vehicle with deep detail and no locking nut to be found anywhere I contacted R & W cars I explained the situation and they said they would ring me straight back well I waited and waited then I got an unexpected email basically indirectly calling me stupid and because their mechanic said the locking nut was in the vehicle when the car left them that there was nothing they could do BUT if I bring the vehicle back to them they would search the car on my behalf and replace the locking nuts should they needed to be replaced Peterborough was 1 and half hours drive and the car was not road legal to drive so after the email I knew which way this was going so taken it up on myself to go and get the wheel changed myself I had to pay £15 per locking nut to be removed and there was 4 of them and the replacement of them £20 and as they was replacing the wheel they found the drivers wheel and a big gash in it so that had to be replaced £140 for both wheels I did ring my local police station to ask if me travelling to Peterborough would be essential travel and they informed me that given I have access to 50+ garages in my own area to get my car repaired I probably would get a fine or have my car taken off me and I wasn’t paying to transport to car from Peterborough!

Then I couldn’t get the radio to work and found the aerial missing so £5 to replace that!

Then it started to rain and the window wipers was in such poor condition I had to have all 3 replaced £44!

Then after 2 week the front brakes started squeaking so I’ve had them replaced £150 for both

Then a small squeaking noise from the engine so had this diagnostic £40 to be told the noise was coming from the cam belt pulley so would need it replacing and advised to do the water pump at the same time so including the diagnostic total of £380 for this job alone and they informed me my coolant tank has been filled right to the lid and needs draining they did that free of charge.

A grand total of £834 spent just on repairs

The old saying is once bitten never again!!

I learned a very hard lesson always check reviews about any car dealership since I’ve been looking at reviews about R & W cars I’ve seen more bad reviews than good ones and that’s the same on all 4 sites never ever buy a car you haven’t seen in person or test drove!!

I would AVOID this company at all cost they are just in it to make a quick penny and try pushing you to get the longer warranty they try to sell now I understand why!!!!!

They are a joke their so called mechanic is a joke and wait until you see the service centre on site that’s a joke as well!!!!

We brought a car off these guys and on the short drive home all the lights on the dashboard came on and the car was in limp mode so basically unusable I called them they said they would call back they never did I tried to cancel the finance and was sent endless abusive messages. Now 1 year down the line it turns out the service history is all fake and none of the garages even exist so they are complete scammers simple as that
