Robinsons Relocation Opiniones 

We recently moved to Brazil from the UK, and our experience with Robinsons' was disappointing from start to finish. To keep things factual, our main points are:

1) Poor communication with Robinsons regarding the relocation processes and in general.
2) No consultation regarding their choice of Agents acting for us in Brazil.
3) The inventory from Robinsons was found to be inaccurate. We needed to correct this (and other paperwork required before shipment) for the Agents in Brazil (Metropolitan). Errors in the Robinsons packing list required us to obtain new notarized documentation, causing delays.
4) The date of the boat departure from the UK was delayed.
5) An incorrect invoice was received from Metropolitan, requring us to chase Robinsons to resolve.
6) There was a lack of clarity or justification regarding port, customs and other "expenses" in Brazil. Some seemed bogus, and we could do little to challenge them as we were essentially held to ransom as we waited for our stuff to arrive (70 days after packing in the UK)
7) There were at least six loading/unloading operations between our UK and Brazil addresses, greatly increasing the likelihood of damage and loss. We understood our goods would be packed into a container by Robinsons, and that container would be delivered to our address (as had been the case when we moved from Brazil to the UK in 2006). We feel misled by Robinsons, who, quite frankly, did not have a clue about the way things would be handled once outside the UK.
8) Damage to furniture was directly attributable to poor packing of large furniture items by Robinsons. We had deep scratches and dents in several furniture items.
9) In contrast, Robinsons also overpacked many items (e.g., boxes with a few robust plastic items wrapped in multiple layers of paper).
10) We have no final receipt from Metropolitan and no account of the large fee we needed to pay to have our shipment delivered to our home. This total lack of transparency is borderline corruption.
11) We provided multiple photos of our damaged goods and a list of missing items` for insurance purposes. We were disgusted by the response from the loss adjuster, who simply dismissed our claim, saying all our stuff was old and essentially worthless in her view and offered £305 net of the £250 policy excess, telling us that was a generous offer! That does not even cover the cost of some repair work, let alone the replacement of items that will never be the same after the rough treatment they received during shipment. If you do nothing else, forget their insurance: it's a worthless rip-off.

In summary, Robinsons do not: (a) provide the excellent service they claim; (b) have knowledge or control of goods once outside the UK; (c) take responsibility for the damage to goods directly attributable to their packing and handling; (d) deal with insurance claims in a fair and balanced manner.

We regret choosing Robinsons and urge others looking for a moving company to look elsewhere to avoid an experience like our own.

They were really efficient and friendly, good with the dog, really careful with all our belongings, even boxing up some that we'd forgotten in the garage, and were just generally brilliant.

We were fully moved out by 11:30 with no stress and we were fully moved in by about 4pm after getting the keys to the new place at 1. 100% would recommend Robinsons to a friend, and costs-wise it was really reasonable as well, compared with other quotes we'd had. I'd even recommend a friend who was considering moving themselves to at least get a quote from Robinsons before doing so, on the basis that they'd probably be pleasantly surprised at the cost and would save themselves a whole load of hard work!

I honestly don't even know where to start in describing what an awful job Robinsons did. In a nutshell: Robinsons' responses were slow (if they responded at all), they completely botched the move-in date despite months of planning and notice (causing quite a number of issues for us and our kids); and they broke countless items and paid shamelessly low amounts to rectify the damage; and they did not have enough crew to unload our items let alone unpack for us. The only upside is the movers themselves were very kind, but Robinsons clearly overworks them and takes on far too many jobs. I would avoid at all costs.

Great company if you are looking to be ripped off. Horrible experience. Their Crew ahowed up two hours late, Packing was terribly done with packing notes not clear to what was being packed in the boxes, and the cherry on top was when the delivery came Tv was broken and missing items. The insurance will cover I thought. Well, not really. They paid only a portion of the value if the TV, and refused to pay for my missing Sony PS 5 that someone in their company stole. Run from this company SCAMMERS!!!!

Great company to work with from start to finish, the guys on the day of the removal turned before the agreed time and got to work straight away.
The guys attention to detail on packing was impeccable so to relieve the stress on both my wife and myself.
The whole move went without a hitch so we would definitely use Robinsons again.

Working with Abi Cairns and the team at Abingdon was much appreciated. They went out of their way to make our move as stress free as possible. Always there to answer questions and advise. The packing team did a really good job and ensured that everything would fit into a 20ft container to be shipped to New Zealand.
Every thing arrived on time without any damage or breakages. The tie up with Conroys in New Zealand worked perfectly.
We couldn't be more please with our experience and would highly recommend

What can we say 2 guys arrived as planned, introduced themselves and listened to our concerns about fragile items , we needn’t have worried as everything was well wrapped and handled with care. An overnight service as we relocated to Sheffield from Birmingham. All items were delivered to each room as asked, no breakages or damage thank you guys.

I've used Robinsons three times in the last ~8 years and had been happy until my most recent experience when they helped pack and move our belongings into storage while we did work on our house. Unfortunately our fridge freezer was packed up with the contents still in it so that when we unpacked it several months later it was putrid. There's been some debate as to who established that the item was ready to pack in the first instance but what has disappointed me is the approach which Robinsons have taken to my complaint which is to try to ignore it, not respond to communication etc.

We used Robinsons to manage a move from LA to London. We were highly satisfied with the responsiveness pre-move to all queries, the liaison with their US local partner and final move team in the UK. This is our fifth move with Robinsons, including two international moves, and we would highly recommend.

Would definitely recommend Robinsons. Staff were reliable, friendly and helpful throughout the process of moving.

We had a very impressive experience with Ryan and his crew from Robinsons' Basingstoke in the last few days. First of all our original removal company cancelled 4 days before moving and Robinsons' sales person Victoria managed to secure us a last minute booking. Ryan and his crew went above and beyond helping us with the move and were incredibly professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

We can’t rate this company highly enough. They were professional, efficient, great value for money and coped with quite complex moves without a hitch. Highly recommended.

I used these clowns to move my luxury apartment from London to Los Angeles. They promised the world, then smashed/destroyed literally every single expensive thing I own, including fine art, a Steinway, multiple tables and chairs, etc. NEVER use Robinsons. The industry has been electronic for over a decade now and these fools still take paper inventory. Perfect encapsulation of their horrendous business.

Robinson’s Redditch branch handled our move from the West Midlands over the border to Wales, and we couldn’t have asked for better service. The team were friendly and professional, and immediately inspired confidence that all our stuff was in safe hands. Everyone we talked to from the initial quotation left us highly impressed, and we would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone planning a move.

I would not recommend Robinsons Relocation due to the fact they damaged 2 pieces of large expensive furniture and my oak flooring during delivery. The delivery team initially denied the damage but then admitted it once we explained what had happened and how it happened as it was witnessed.
There has been no apology from Robinsons senior management which is extremely disappointing. They used the word "regrettable" which is at best clumsy; at worst insulting.
I appreciate accidents happen but it has been extremely poorly handled. I would not recommend the company.
UPDATE RESPONSE TO ROBINSONS:
As on previous negative reviews, Robinsons have been disingenuous. My review has nothing to do with insurance. It is factual and relates to Robinsons employees damaging my goods and my home during delivery; initially lying about the cause and Robinsons not making a simple apology. They have failed to address any of these points and instead chosen to go off on a tangent.
Robinsons have assumed that I do not have personal insurance simply because I asked if they would cover the damage that they caused. My view is that they should take (a moral) responsibility (if not contractual) as they were the ones who directly caused the damage. Again, this is irrelevant to my review though.
Robinsons clearly have many happy customers but the negative reviews all show that when things go wrong with them they fail to act in a professional manner. My review is a personal account and factual, borne out by the fact Robinsons have not disputed nor even addressed any of my facts.
Again, I reiterate, I would not recommend Robinsons.

This was a great experience. The whole team was extremely courteous, efficient, helpful and professional. I would definitely use them in the future.

Excellent from start to finish. Everything went smoothly on a long distance move to the west of Scotland.

Great experience, started with Theresa who did the viewing, Matt the manager was fab to deal with (Abingdon) and really responsive.
The crew on the day were a dream, courteous, careful, quick, they moved me in and out of a large 3 bed house in 4.5hrs and nothing was damaged, I’d use them again in a heartbeat
