SafariDrive really helped us in planning our self-drive trip to Namibia. The ground organizer also was great with the technical explanations and final route advice. Very robust and reliable 4x4 and super-convenient equipment.
They took care of every tiny detail and managed everything to postpone the whole set of bookings one year for the pandemic.

No regrets

We loved our experience with Safari Drive in Namíbia. They are very professionnal and reliable. Our trip was 100% customized to our needs and we stayed in magical places thanks to their knowledge of Namibia ! A special thank to Joanna who was our contact during 2 years as we had to postpone our trip because of Covid.

Three plus weeks with Safari Drive in Namibia as a family of 5, and we could not be more impressed.

The UK-based team (Joanna) were exceptional on teasing out what we wanted and constructing the ideal trip - and then changing it completely at least twice as COVID rules changed, borders opened and closed etc.

A careful and detailed brief on arrival in Windhoek of a practically brand new LandCruiser by the superb Jens with a quick but useful driving course and lots of local knowledge about routes and fun stuff do to do.

The kit could not have been bettered; everything included, of top quality, and in its place. We saw no better vehicle in 500km of driving.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend 5 tallish adults sharing a 'Cruiser (the kids were almost literally half the size when we booked pre-COVID!) but it IS possible! (Four on top in the excellent and comfortable roof tents and expendable one in a ground tent). Masses of space for kit in the vehicle - a bit less for legs in the back... But I imagine its great for four and a dream for two.

Fabulous itinerary, great campsites and a few luxury lodges.

There are definitely cheaper ways to self-drive in Southern Africa. But no-one beats Safari Drive on quality of service, care, kit and professionalism.

This was our third trip to Africa using Safari Drive, and it was another amazing experience.
The communication throughout the planning period was excellent. The information they provided was very good, and helped us shape the trip as we wanted, accommodating multiple changes. Vehicle, equipment and route planning all very good (this was our first land-cruiser following the fleet change from the land rovers, and it didn’t disappoint). Route planning with local intelligence is also quite key to a successful trip, and we were told everything we needed. And very importantly, when we experienced a problem their local network supported us in a very timely and efficient way. This is very important to us, as we go for a limited time and we can’t afford spending ages trying to sort out a problem, and local networks are invaluable. Thank you team for making our trip an unforgettable experience!

Our Botswana and Zambia adventure was the trip of a life-time for us. It was a great blend of camping out in the roof top tent, then some nights in lovely lodges/camps. The vehicles were extremely well equipped and comfortable.
I would highly recommend using Safari Drive and will definitely be back for more adventures!

We had a great holiday in Namibia! Safari Drive organised excellent accommodation and campsites and provided a very well equipped Land Cruiser. They are always available if you require backup which is reassuring. This was our fourth trip organised by them and we will use Safari Drive again!

Our family (2 adults & 2 children from Germany) spent 2 weeks in Zimbabwe & Botswana in June. The Safari Drive team did a great job organizing the trip, booked the best campsite lots, provided probably one of the best equipped vehicles in Southern Africa, and - last but not least - provided great local support. There are numerous agents around, but what is really special with Safari Drive are their own great cars and equipment, along with a terrific team both in the UK and locally in each country. There a really remote places out there, and it was essential to have a satellite phone and call someone locally for advice and help.

We've recently returned from a 3 week journey through Namibia, using Safari Drive is decision you will never regret, you will be enjoying a tailored itinerary, the best vehicles, the best equipment and without any doubt the best support all round. From start to finish the process has been seemless, From Joanna and Katie's support with the booking, through to Jans providing first class in country support! You can travel alone and experience true isolation, wilderness and unique experiences, whilst knowing that hoving over you is the safety net of Safari Drive! North Argentina
It was a long wait (we first booked for May 2020), but the trip exceeded our expectations. Argentina is so beautiful it takes your breath away.The trip was organised to perfection. We had very knowledgeable guides where it mattered (Buenos Aires and the Puna). Except for the Puna we drove everywhere ourselves - we got ourselves a nearly new Chevy pickup truck. It got us everywhere we wanted to go without a hitch.
We stayed at all kinds of places, always the best available according to the location. Some were hidden gems, which we would never have been able to find ourselves.

Safari Drive were incredibly helpful and accommodative through multiple iterations of our trip, due to Covid travel complications. When we finally made it to Botswana, the itinerary, vehicle and kit were all we could have hoped for and we had an unforgettable adventure. This is the second time we have used Safari Drive and we would have no hesitation to recommend their services to anyone seeking adventure in Africa.

We have just arrived back from a second Botswana mobile safari booked through Safari Drive. Drumbeat Safaris was the local company they use. All the arrangements worked perfectly. The game viewing was outstanding with a very knowledgeable, professional guide/driver. The two back up team members were efficient and friendly, with the owner of the business accompanying us all the time. Camp equipment was modern and comfortable. and the food (and drink!) throughout was very good. We enjoyed many campfire chats in the evening. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Safari Drive and Drumbeat Safaris most highly..

Life Time Experience in Namibia, from A-Z everything perfectly arranged. The 5 cars we rented were unique compared to standard rental cars. Completely equipped with all comforts. Covered 4000 km in 15 days without any problems. In advance in consultation with Safari Drive the route, accommodations mapped out. Off the beaten track, self driving without restrictions, surrounded by nature and locals. No expensive lodges, but conservations where the community is still in charge and where you can experience the real life of people and animals from close by. In short, too much to mention, and that we hope to go back soon and certainly choose Safari Drive. Thanks for everything.

Despite travel issues linked to Covid, the Safaridrive team managed to rearrange our trip to deliver a wonderful experience in Namibia.

Great experience. The Land Cruiser was perfect for the nearly two week drive (even got to cross a few rivers!). Camping on the roof tent couldn't have been easier, literally 5 minutes and it's completely set up.
We made some changes to our itinerary during the drive and the Safari Drive team was more than accommodating with helping us move things around.

Booked a trip to Namibia with Safari Drive quite last minute (10 days before flying out) so picked them solely based on their positive customer feedback and they were most certainly not found wanting. I dealt solely with Joanna (based in the UK) when deciding on a suitable itinerary. I had visited Namibia previously and wanted to visit grounds new. Joanna’s knowledge and professional expertise were exceptional. Upon arriving in Windhoek I was met by Jens, Safari Drive’s in country representative. Jens took time to familiarise me with the Landcruisers features and to make sure I was suitably comfortable before heading off! The vehicle itself was extremely well appointed and did not let me down in any way, shape or form. Upon returning to the UK Joanna got in contact and was genuinely interested in my thoughts and experiences of both Safari Drive’s customer service and the various lodges and parks I had visited. All were extremely positive I must say. I have no hesitation in recommending Namibia to anyone considering an African trip and you certainly won’t be left wanting if you choose Safari Drive. Lovely stuff.
