Very disappointed
Very disappointing customer service. Made a big order recently, and noticed an error on the gift message. Called and sent a follow-up email, confirming that the issue would be corrected. After multiple days of waiting for an updated invoice (past the 48-hour window), I called again to ask what was going on.
I talked with a representative and stayed on the phone for more than an hour, confirming multiple times that the message was corrected for all our recipients.
I got an updated list that didn’t show the message. So I asked again, and the representative confirms that it has been updated to how we need it to show.
I guess my fault lies in not pressuring to send me a written final confirmation of that change (even though there are written requests and email logs about it).
Lo and behold, the message was not fixed. In fact, it was somehow even more confusing.
After noticing this, I called to see if this was the case with all our recipients, and in fact, it was. And apparently there’s nothing I or they can do without that final confirmation from their side.
I learned my lesson, but I am so disappointed at the lack of tact and protocol from See’s Candies. It seems like they’re only applied when beneficial to them.

Gift card ripoff
Candy is OK but I have a major complaint about the gift cards I bought at Costco at a slight discount. Their no free or discounted shipping, $7.95 shipping goes back up to $12.95 and over $80 is no longer free but more than that. I will send the rest of our business gift from a different vendor that Sees. 6390
I have now received a reply from Sees offering to assist me in redeeming the Costco gift cards. And again, saying they can't be used with free or reduced shipping. THIS SHOULD BE DISCLOSED prominently when buying the gift cards. No point in buying discounted gift cards when it negates the supposedly reduced or free shipping. There is no Sees candy stores in the nearest town, which seems the only reasonable way to benefit from buying the gift cards. I still feel ripped off and ordered other salami and cheese business gifts instead of more candy. Not any cheaper but I don't like deceptive practices.

Good customer service experience
I sent Sees my recent purchase experience of how the candies were melted when I received them and I couldn't offer them as a gift - to their credit, they sent a replacement order. I didn't ask for a replacement, but am very happy they made good on things.

Beware of See’s Candies inability to make order changes immediately after submission after website free shipping promotion changed delivery date
Update: See’s responded and recognized issue with web ordering, offering to add a prompt. They were not able to amend my original order but did expedite a replacement order which was received 11/25. Thank you See’s. Original posting: I ordered chocolate turkeys for my sister’s family. 7 dark chocolate and 3 milk chocolate. I selected delivery for 11/25. Website let me know that if I added $5 more, I would get free shipping. I added another turkey. It was not until I received my order confirmation that I was made aware that the delivery date had now changed to 12/1 - 12/3. I immediately sent an email and an online inquiry to change/expedite. An email response indicated that it was too late to make a change as the order had already been processed but I could call the “Candy Concierge”. I did, only to be told the same thing. Who wants chocolate turkeys after Thanksgiving? They were meant to be for my sister’s dinner table. And what system cannot make an order change immediately after an order submission? I am VERY disappointed and will never do online business with See’s Candies again.

See’s is sending something I’d ordered and paid for but they’d failed to ship “as a courtesy.” I’m writing this review as a courtesy to them!
I had ordered 2 boxes of the assorted fudge and only received one box in the shipment. The customer service rep said “See’s will offer you a one time courtesy credit and send another box.” I responded quite angrily saying that it sounded like See’s was blaming ME for their fulfillment failure. After being a customer for decades, spending many hundreds of dollars on gifts, See’s will never have to worry about giving me another “courtesy credit” as I will not be a customer. The rep went on to say that See’s would ship the undelivered product to me “at no additional charge.” No wonder See’s has so many complaints about their operations.

Site says 2 days to ship. 6 days (4 business) before shipped with expected delivery 14 days after order. When contacted canned response saying date it should have shipped which it was not. No resolve. Customer NO service. Unreasonable delay for pre boxed item.

My faith and goodwill has been restored towards Sees Candies. They will send the chocolates and a letter of apology to my friend whose birthday was a few days ago. They responded quickly to my complaint with sincerity and and goodwill. I remain as a loyal customer because I feel I am a valued as a customer and I love their chocolate which is always fresh and well packaged, and is especially giftable and appreciated by the recipients!
Was nev er notified that my order was cancelled, after receiving an email that my order was processed. Customer service stated my billing address was incorrect. I've order from them several times with the same billing address. Not one email nor telephone call to advise me the order was cancelled. When I emailed them the response I received was to place another order. This business does not appreciate mine. No more orders.

Disapointing Sees Birthday
I have bought this delicious candy since I was 12, so on my 65th birthday, my kids collectively got together to get me 4 lbs! Unfortunately, the closest shop was in crazy traffic Austin, which is two hours away. I wanted to pick out my own and especially have a whole lb of just Cashew Brittle, My son wanted his own lb of the same one. So after finally getting there, I was told they were out of my favorite NATIONWIDE!! I was truly bummed! Brea, the lady there who was trying to get me to get a prepared box that would have ONE Cashew Brittle in it, was pleasant (the other elderly lady needs a lesson in customer service from Brea) But it’s not the same when you want your favorite. 😟
So I texted their customer service about how disappointing it was, and some of the candy I picked instead, just didn’t seem fresh. Also, sure seems the Carmel w/walnuts is getting smaller every time! For $40 a lb, one would expect the usual delicious candy. So basically they thanked me for being such a longtime See’s consumer and never addressed anything else. Once I even got a walnut shell in my Carmel nut square! So they couldn’t even offer a half lb for my disappointing birthday present. 4 hour drive there and back too. Now would you not think since they text me with every new thing and sale, that they would say we now have Cashew Brittle in? Oh, bet they have it in now and want me to pay all that shipping for hot weather! Done!🤦♀️

Poor customer service
I placed an online order for my sister's birthday. I checked my credit card a couple days later. The sees charge was posted and then credited back. I sent an email to their customer service because it was a Saturday. No reply as of Wednesday. I called on Wednesday and they tried to blame the credit card company. There is no problem with the credit card. No communication from sees. So much for sending a birthday present. I am no longer a customer.

I placed an order on June 7th
I placed an order on June 7th. I paid for expedited service to receive by Wednesday June 11th. When I didn’t receive the order I called to find out where my order is. See candies told they have no order under my name. Surprise I received my order on Friday . I called today to ask them why my order didn’t come the date I requested for. Her answer was once it in couriers hand once the order leaves from there place they can’t do anything. So courier deliver after a month it is ok . So why I put date that I need for that date and pay for expedited service. She will give me the shipping charges back that all she was saying. Nothing mattered to her. Person didn’t get the gift no problem. First and last order with this company. Poor customer service. Waste experience.

after being given 2 $25 gift cards I was anxious to place a order. Order doesn't go through twice then I see you have to add a credit card even though gift card would cover purchase STILL doesn't go through!!! Try again, now the amount on my gift cards have the amount deducted but no complete order !! Explained NO I CANNOT USE A PHONE PLEASE correct issue via email like any other company. NOPE and yes I will not be ordering again from them ! so very disappointing
all I want is for the amount of my gift cards credited back as I never got to use them !!!!! I will gladly take them to a Sees store where hopefully I can use them. It is impossible at this point apparently to attempt to order ONLINE !
Cancelled order due to back log blamed on bank but actually cancelled by Sees
Ordered with expedited shipping to make sure a surprise arrived days before Mother’s Day. Website said received but not shipped on day of expected delivery. I called and was told my order had been cancelled because my bank had cancelled the order. They explained that they don’t have the staff to notify customers about cancelled orders but that had I allowed notifications from my bank I would have been notified. So I Called my bank who confirmed that it was actually Sees that had cancelled the order a few mins after they had accepted it. I called Sees back and was told what I had ordered was on back order (which is why I suspect my order was actually cancelled) and there would be no way to get anything there in two days time for Mother’s Day. Besides blaming anyone but the company for their error and not being honest about the cancellation, they then asked if I would like to replace my order (and wait longer since what I ordered was on back order) because “if not you’re going to be empty handed on mother day”. I’m already going to be empty handed. I’m going to be empty handed because sees cancelled my order and did not notify me, and left my order marked as processed and then tried to blame it on my bank. As if any of this is my fault. Poor business practices, they are no longer a small mom and pop type business, regardless if they start and end their interactions with the word “sweet” (which btw you don’t want to hear from customer service when you’ve got a problem they won’t resolve) don’t support this behavior with your money please
Paid $24.95 for overnight on Thursday
Paid $24.95 for overnight on Thursday. I was told overnight could be two days. I was then told I had ordered after 8:30 am, my package wouldn't arrive till Tuesday. The shipping dept is closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is not on the website. $24.95 for overnight is a ripped off.

Awful customer service….BEWARE
I bought $50 worth of gift cards for a surprise for my grandchildren. I didn’t hear that they had received them in the mail, so I had to spoil the surprise and call them to see if they were received. They weren’t. I called See’s and they told me to wait 3 more days. Never showed. I called again. They were now going to send their mom their e-cards. They didn’t show up. I called again. See’s told me that they would have to get in touch with their finance department and get back to me. They finally received the “surprise”!😠 What surprised me most was that the company didn’t offer me ANYTHING for all my trouble…. Good thing I checked on the gifts, otherwise See’s would have a profit of $50! Shoddy customer service!! Never again!!😡

Sees Now Gouging Us!
I regularly send Sees candy to my 88-year-old aunt back in Ohio from California. It became her favorite treats (not Sees in Ohio) when she'd visit me over the many years I've lived in California. I send her a pound at least once a month. This month I was charged over $24.00 for shipping because I used my Costco gift card. It is usually not more than $18.00 for shipping. I think Mother's Day is now Sees reason to gouge its customers. My final 1lb box of candy was $58.00. I will need to cut back on my aunt's Sees orders. Sees needs to consider that times are too hard for its customers to be gouged for their sweet luxury. Come on, give us a break!
PS. Thank you for your response, Sees. Unfortunately, my 88-year-old aunt's preference for your candy is solely the chocolate chocolate butter variety, so well need to limit our summer orders due to your extremely high shipping costs. Additionally, from the many negative reviews Sees seems to be receiving, it might be time for management to reevaluate Sees' product quality and for sure its customer service. My family and I have been Sees customers for over 40 years and have noticed the rising prices of your candies and serious reductions in customer service and a website that becomes less user friendly each year. Sees' longevity may not be enough to keep it afloat, especially in these difficult economic times. Poor quality and poor customer service is resulting in closures of many once popular business establishments.
