"StB" is my go-to place for beekeeping stuff. I find their website is easy to use, and ordering items is simple.
Shipping is quick.
On the very rare occasion something has been wrong with my order, it has been speedily resolved.

Having bought from this company for many years and spent a substantial amount of money with them over time, I used to value them as a reliable supplier.

Unfortunately, the quality control, customer service, and overall standards have gone downhill drastically recently.

I bought a set of brood frames that arrived in unusable condition due to poor quality control, forcing me to spend my own time manually repairing them to make them fit for purpose. After sending three separate emails, I was initially met with complete radio silence before finally receiving an admission that my initial email had been missed.

When customer service did reach out, Kevin offered three resolution options in writing: a £5.50 shipping refund, a £10 store credit, or a replacement pack. I explicitly chose the £10 store credit so I could purchase other items I needed. Instead of honoring my choice, the company completely ignored my decision and sent an unrequested replacement box anyway—seemingly to post a public response claiming generosity on Trustpilot.

To address the company’s public response directly:

1. I work away and do not have 24/7 access to my phone, which is why written communication was necessary.

2. Following previous unprofessional and aggressive interactions with Kevin, I deliberately chose not to engage in phone calls.

3. I have the full email paper trail proving every step of this interaction.

It is deeply disappointing to spend so much money with a business over the years only to see them misrepresent facts on a public forum rather than take genuine accountability. I have no desire to pursue this matter further and consider this issue closed.

This place is amazing! Really helpful and always quick to respond and quick to ship.
I love the fact you can actually email and get a response from highly knowledgeable bee keepers.

I was very favourably impressed with this company. Excellent products ( National ventilated floor x2, crown boardsx4 , roof x1 . The quality of their finish and WRC wood was actually slightly better than the market leader. The price was about 1/2 of the above . Delivery was good and packaging was faultless. They will be my go-to for National Hive parts etc from now on. Very satisfied.

For new Beekeepers starting out I totally recommend this company for all your requirements and queries relating to bees. A group of real people that you can talk to and their service including delivery is excellent.

Great value, great service... what's not to like. Excellent response from Customer Service.. even when I found out I was the problem.. not them!!! Highly recommend.

Great website with clear navigation and excellent range of beekeeping equipment. Multiple product options available that can fit your beekeeping budget and offer very good value.
Customer service and communication are perfect given the busy period we are in and sheer number of orders that they ship out.

Terrible communications. I cannot even describe it as customer service as clearly both Harry and Kevin do not understand the meaning of this. We bought a stainless steel electric honey extractor for over £500. Not one but even the replacement was faulty on start up. No signs of 'CE' 'UKCA or UKNI markings on both the product or the generic handbook which has most likely come from a manufacturer in China. Very similar products on sale on Ali express for much cheaper. When we asked Henry / Kevin we were told that they has designed this machine themselves. Both machines heated up to a very high 'unsafe' in my opinion temperature and smoke started to appear from the electric motor. In my assessment it is unsuitable for UK electric. Trading Standards / Citizens Advice Bureau both informed and complaint made.

Made an order 6 days ago, it all arrived safely and neatly packed. Kathryn was very helpful answering my queries and requests when buying my son's first suit.

Terrible customer service. Product kept braking . Refused to give me a refund . Sent replacement product which also broke. Electric motor overheated to an assessed dangerous limit . Potential fire hazard. No CE or UKCA compliance markings on either electrical product. Sub standard build quality and potential fire risk hazard . Would recommend to avoid buying . Terrible abusive passive aggressive communications

contacted Simon on monday 13 Oct 25 with what I needed and on Wednesday 15 Oct morning at 10am my parcel was delivered , have used Simon the beekeeper for all I have needed they are reliable great customer relationship helpful and so understanding and helpful with enquiries thank you all at Simon the beekeeper

I ordered some Apiguard at around 1500 on Wednesday. It was delivered to my home address at 1300 on Thursday - well within 24 hours. The box had been deconstructed and repacked very carefully to be less than an inch thick. An excellent service all round.

Kevin needs to understand his customers more and provide a better service. I would suggest he practises hospitality and kinder wording instead of being rude to the smallest of issues raised. I would not recommend this seller and have reported this company further to Trading Standards along with providing all digital evidence required (attained during our private conversations during the dispute process). Do not be fooled or lulled into a false sense of security. You will be blamed and accused of lying if you attempt to request a refund when it does not work. 0 stars for service, 0 stars for the item itself. Someone doesn’t know about consumer rights big no no Kevin!

Used this website a few times and items are always posted very quickly and the items are great.
