Move back to South Africa
I chose PSS to manage my move back to South Africa as I was comfortable with their approach to the move from day 1. They were the only company that had an agent come and assess my property in person and talk me through all the details and requirements of the move. The move managers were great and managed all the info, keeping me updated on the 2 days of packing and loading the container. The moving crew was punctual and professional, handling challenges with the container and ensuring my move went ahead on time. The first leg is done, and I would recommend PSS to anyone making a move back to South Africa.

Poor Performance and damage
1) Failed to schedule the delivery conveniently: At time of booking, and twice before it was scheduled, I told them I was not available 1st to 15 September for receiving, but they scheduled for 13th. They informed me that any change to their schedule would likely cause additional costs.
2) Poor packing destroyed an item of antique furniture
3) The insurance policy isn't worth the paper it is written on as there is a 100 GBP deduction simply to process any insurance claim.

I am very sorry that you were unhappy with our destination partners services. I can see that the issue you have raised is towards our delivery partners and I am sorry for any miscommunication surrounding the delivery date, however, believe this to have been rectified swiftly. With regards to the level of packing, I can confirm that our packers have been with us for many years and are experienced packers who are more than aware of our packing standards and requirements for an international move. Please understand that it is almost impossible to ensure that fragile items will not be damaged in transit due to the movement within the container, and our crew will pack to the best of their ability to try and avoid any damage in transit. In relation to the cover you mention, as advised on our valuation form that you completed prior to your goods being collected, it states that there will be a claims handling fee should you wish to accept the settlement offer from the claims team, and as your item was valued lower than the claims handling fee, unfortunately you would not have received any compensation for your item. There was the choice of taking out extra cover to avoid paying the claims handling fee in the event of a claim however, I can see you had chosen not to select this as an option. I do apologise again that you remain unhappy and if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Simpsons International ….providing an exceptional service
Simpsons International have just packed and removed our possessions for shipping to Cape Town.
The whole experience from the first telephone call was very positive.
John at Simpsons was knowledgeable, friendly and patient and his experience and advice was what made us choose Simpsons as a company to handle the move.
The chaps who came to do the removal arrived spot on time, introduced themselves courteously and immediately began organising the removal without troubling us unduly. They were a pleasure to have in the house and we couldn’t have expected any better service. I’ve no doubt that everything will arrive in Cape Town in one piece!
We have moved a lot, including international moves and would, without hesitation, recommend this company.

Very professional team handled shift from UK to US -- Totally recommend them to everyone
The entire process was very smoothly handled by John, Elemai and team. They were very responsive, and always accessible for all kinds of follow-on questions, that obviously come up with a complex international move. I couldn't thank the packers enough as they were so patient and efficient. They packed a 2 BHK (without appliances/furniture) in about 90 mins, and even then, we felt like we had a lot of time to hand over all the stuff, and not miss out anything behind. Would definitely recommend Simpsons to anyone looking for international moves whether from UK to US or others.

From my first phone call when I spoke to John asking for a quote, I knew this company would get our custom. His calm demeanour and ‘we will
sort everything’ approach completely made me feel at ease at a very stressful time. Michael was sent out to do a valuation and this sealed the deal. Michael was knowledgeable and helpful with a load of kindness thrown in for good measure. I specifically requested that Michael would be on our move and this was honoured. After a few weeks it was time for the team to begin the enormous task of packing up our house. Dave, Michael and Steve turned up on the first day of 5 at 7am with their muscles, smiles and a hilarious sense of humour and did not stop (other than the odd cup of tea which resembled treacle rather than tea!) until they’d finished for the day. The chaps were super speedy and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere in the house was incredible the whole week and we had so much fun. I highly recommend this company and can honestly say I was gutted when we waved them off at the end of the week.
Thank you John for your help and for sending us the dream team. A message to the CEO…. These 3 worked their socks off, did it graciously and with a smile. Please look after them they are a huge asset to your company.

The perfect start to an international move
Every step of the process so far has been smooth and trouble-free. Excellent communications leading up to the day, and the crew who packed my belongings for the move to Philadelphia were everything that you could want.
Courteous, efficient, easy to chat with as they worked, and eager to answer any questions that I had. The whole experience so far has been great.

Majority of furniture broken
I put 1 star because they are responsive and professional at the office. But the packing is terrible. They wrap furniture with PAPER! They don’t protect the corners or anything. So when I unwrapped the papers, most of the furniture was dented, smashed, and broken. Pieces of wood were gone. If you choose them, take the expensive insurance because most of your stuff will be broken or damaged.

I can assure you that this is not a normal occurrence as we try our best with every removal to provide a packing service which limits damage to our client’s goods as much as possible, so they are received in good condition when arriving at their new destination. I can see that you had chosen not to take out insurance with us however, we had assisted you further by referring you to submit a claim under our limited liability cover. I understand you are currently in the process of going through the claim process, and please do let us know should you require any assistance with this in the meantime.
