Rented a car from Sixt / Shlomo Herzliya for exactly 2 days. During pickup, the employee clearly told me returning the car before 12 PM was fine.
I arrived back around 11:10 AM and have timestamped photos proving the car was already parked at their location before noon. But no employee came to receive the vehicle, so I had to wait for staff to show up and process the return.
Later, I discovered they charged my card an extra ~$91 USD for an additional rental day and insurance. Even worse, the invoice falsely states the car was returned at 12:01 PM.
So because THEIR employee delayed the check-in process, I got charged extra? That feels extremely dishonest.
I have photos, videos, timestamps, and location data proving when I arrived. Be very careful and check your invoices closely after renting here.
I just cancelled a rental car and paid a huge fee -- when my flight was cancelled due to warfare.
I just cancelled a rental car reservation due to the Iran war and the cancellation of my flight to Israel and the cancellation fee was around 60% of the pre-paid rental fee. Beware of the large cancellation notwithstanding the cancellation of flights to Israel.

אני שוכרת רכב לעיתים קרובות כשאני מגיעה לארץ, במיוחד בשנתיים האחרונות, ובדרך כלל הכל מתנהל בצורה שגרתית : מזמינים רכב, אוספים ומחזירים.
אבל הפעם, כשהגעתי לסניף שלמה Sixt ברחוב הרכבת במודיעין, חיכתה לי חוויה מיוחדת באמת. , מהרגע שנכנסתי לסניף פגשתי צוות מדהים נבו, שלומי, מיכאל ורות שקיבלו אותי בחיוך, בסבלנות ובמקצועיות יוצאת דופן.
הם עשו מעל ומעבר כדי לעזור, להקשיב לצרכים שלי ולוודא שהכל מסתדר בצורה הטובה ביותר. היחס החם והאכפתיות שלהם ממש הורגשו והפכו חוויה שגרתית לחוויה נעימה ומיוחדת.
תודה רבה לכם על שירות כל כך אנושי, מקצועי ולבבי. זה ממש לא מובן מאליו. ממליצה בחום!

I rent a car quite often when I visit Israel, especially over the past couple of years, and usually everything goes as expected: reserve a car, pick it up, and return it.
This time, however, when I arrived at the Shlomo Sixt branch on HaRakevet Street in Modiin, the experience was truly special. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by an amazing team Nevo, Shlomi, Michael and Ruth who greeted me with kindness, patience, and genuine professionalism.
They went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were taken care of and that everything was smooth and easy. Their warmth and care really stood out and turned a routine experience into a wonderful one.
Thank you so much for such thoughtful, professional, and heartfelt service. It truly means a lot. Highly recommended!
Hidden fees
I was told that insurance is 26 dollars a day plus 22 dollars for tax being that i lost my entry permit. In the end i was charged an extra $5 daily for extra insurance which i didnt want plus $35 for being Israeli which I'm not. (I showed my boarding pass which always works and my wife's entry card that was good.)

I called to confirm a reservation... and got yelled at
I called to confirm a reservation at Ben Gurion. I was on hold for half an hour, only to be told that there is no way to search the reservation by name (I never received confirmation email with reservation number). After 5 minutes of pleading the customer "service" person agreed to search by name. It took her 10 seconds to confirm my reservation and then another minute to yell at me for not having my reservation number. Really?? Why?!?

חוויית ליסינג גרועה ביותר עם שלמה סיקסט – לא להתקרב!
במשך שנתיים הייתי לקוח של שלמה סיקסט, ולצערי, מהיום הראשון ועד הרגע שהחזרתי את הרכב, החוויה הייתה מלאה בשקרים, תקלות, וניסיונות בלתי פוסקים להוציא ממני עוד כסף.
זה התחיל מהסוכן שסגרתי איתו את העסקה – הבטחות שנשברו, פרטים חשובים שהוסתרו, ושירות גרוע שלא נגמר שם. לאורך השנתיים, כל פעם שצצה בעיה ופניתי לשירות הלקוחות, פגשתי סוכנים שונים שניסו ״לעזור״, אבל בפועל רק המשיכו לסבך ולהעביר אותי בין גורמים שונים – יד שמאל לא יודעת מה יד ימין עושה!
להוכחה, הייתי מעורב בתאונה לפני שנה ומשהו, תאונה שבה כלל לא הייתי אשם. למרות זאת, שלמה סיקסט לקחו ממני השתתפות עצמית בסך 2060 שקל, ומאז הם לא מפסיקים לטעון שהנושא עדיין “בבדיקה בביטוח”. שנה וחצי אחרי ולא קיבלתי החזר!
גם החזרת הרכב הייתה סיוט. לאחר שהחזרתי את הרכב עם 12,000 ק”מ בלבד על השעון, הם “גילו” שריטות בשלושה אזורים שונים (גג, דלת, ואחורה) ושלחו שמאי שקבע שעליי לשלם 3700 שקל. כל זה לרכב שהיה כמעט חדש!
אבל לא מספיק, הורידו לי גם אגרת רישוי לשנה נוספת, למרות שהחזרתי את הרכב שבועיים לפני תחילת השנה! פשוט גזל מתמשך.
אם אתם שוקלים ליסינג, אני ממליץ בחום להתרחק משלמה סיקסט. הם רק ייקחו ממכם כסף, יבלבלו אתכם בשקרים, ויגרמו לכם הרבה כאב ראש, עצבים, ובזבוז זמן. לא שווה את זה!

After 6 years as a “client” I definitely say - Crap service. And they will find a way to steal money from you. Garbage of customer service. All started after the Corona. Even the Chinese investors unable to fix this crap.
The worst experience ever
The worst experience ever - don't be fooled, these guys aren't Sixt. They left me with a broken down car by the side of the road for four hours at night with no updates on when anyone would come to fix it. They refused to have the keys returned to the office to close the contract, said the only way to do that would be to return to the car and wait for the repair men to come again. But do not answer their emergency numbers to even organize for that to happen. Avoid at all costs. Worst of the worst.

Avoid at all costs. Everything was fine until i returned car. Paid all the expenses and left. An hour later was about to board my plane then all of a sudden I was charged an extra $200 for no reason with no explanation. Luckily I was able to get a refunded after a good 30 min. (Sholom Sixt has a useless website when it comes to this stuff). Then, 2 months later as Im back in the US i got a notification from my cc that I was charged $37! I couldn’t believe it as it was 2 months later. Still trying to resolve. These guys are a joke. Sholom Sixt should be shut down! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Would give 0 stars if I could.
Total scam
First off they charged almost double the quoted price we received online. Upon returning the car we were told everything was good. Not 2 days later did we have $1500 of additional charges with no explanation. All attempts to reach out to the company were ignored. They never informed us why we had these extra charges. Thankfully our credit card was well versed in this scam and had many previous customers who this happened too and put a hold on all extra charges.
Don't come near these guys
Dodgy business model. We returned the car with the most trivial bumper scratch, nothing compared to the existing ones. Before inspecting the car they wanted to know if we had bought their insurance. Asked several times. We did not buy it as we had our own traveler's insurance. We got charged for this nothing damage which could be rubbed off in 5 minutes of work. Hundreds of dollars. Never coming near them again. It seems to be their business model. Either you buy their insurance or they'll bite you when you are in a rush and have to catch a flight.
Penny wise and dollar foolish. Don't ever rent from them.
At the Ben Gurion airport counter happy when I was offered a free upgrade to a larger car. The clerk showed me a diagram of where there was body damage and asked me to sign it without giving me a copy of the damage sheet. The car had so much damage I took pictures before I drove the car out of the garage. A very short time later as I am driving away from the airport garage, the tire pressure indicator shows decrease PSI in the front left tire. It was 31 when it should be 35. I filled it with air the following day but it kept losing air. When I called Sixt, I was told to repair the tire at my expense since they falsely claimed the tire was good when I accepted the car. After 20 minutes of back and forth argument, they offered to exchange the car for an older, smaller car. The rental was for two weeks with a cost of more than a thousand dollars. A customer oriented business would have said, have the tire repaired and we will deduct it from the bill. For 70 shekels they lost a a repeat customer

Do not rent from this Sixt(Shlomo) location at Ben Gurion Airport. When we arrived to pick up the car, an associate offered to upgrade us for the same daily rate. He said he would put notes in the account to ensure we got the discounted rate and to make sure we left him a great review. When we returned the car at the airport, we were told we couldn't get an invoice because they had to adjust the rate and wouldn't be able to do it until the following week. 2 weeks later, our credit car was charged almost $1,300 versus $710 for the original quote. Calling customer service is a nightmare if you only speak English as it took going through 5 agents before I found one that spoke English. The agent I spoke to was very rude even though I was trying to be polite and factual. Once I finally got through, customer service said they would have to call that branch and see what happened. They said they would call us back. We never received a call. We also emailed through their customer service page and have never received a response. Now we have to file a dispute with the credit card company. Just avoid using Sixt (Shlomo) if you can. You will be happy your avoided this nightmare.
A perfect rental, no hassle
I rented a Kia hybrid at the Tlv airport from 18 th of Sept airport to 30 th.
The car was fabulous I enjoyed driving it, and it was in top condition. The employees were helpful and made my experience a memorable one.
Just one thing car needs to be cleaned before renting it out.

When I picked up the car, I was asked if I wanted full insurance. Since I always do that, I accepted this. The contract would be emailed to me. As it was very busy I accepted this. However, I never received the contract.
For the first time I had a small accident when reversing I damaged the rear bumper.
When I returned it, I was informed that I was not insured for this. I could not prove that I was insured as I did not have a contract . I had to pay the full cost of the repair €1275 myself. Since I had no proof, I could not reverse this debit with my credit card company.
This is Israel’s worst car hire…

Overpriced, customer service completely useless and rubbish old cars that hardly work.
Only use this company if there is simply no alternative.
This was the worse car rental…
This was the worse car rental experience i ever had in my entire life. After 6 hours flight another 90 minutes waiting at the reception to talk to the only man at the desk to pick up my car. Horrible experience never again.
