Ski world took our money just over £10,000 for 8 people to ski in Val Thorens. The resort was closed the day we got there, we did not ski and wanted to go home ASAP. This took a couple of days and a horrendous 24 hour coach and ferry journey, with no food or water provided (bearing in mind our holiday was inclusive).
We have just been informed that although we did not ski, use any ski’s, stayed one night in our apartment (two more as they were working on repatriation) SkiWolrd will not be refunding anything and will try to get refunds for ski hire and passes for us!
Completely unacceptable, even if they are unwilling to refund flights (of which we only had one). transfers and other consumables we had. There are 5 days of accommodation, food (three meals a day and wine), resort tax, also the ski passes and hire (which were not used at all) they should be refunding. To say they will refund nothing it’s for our insurers and will see what they can do about the passes and hire is completely unacceptable. In other words we will keep as much of your money as we can, speak to your insurers. I hope the insurance companies will be taking severe retrospective action against them...
I will not ever use SkiWorld again, I feel I have been ripped off. Money has been taken for services which have not been received and they are refusing to refund. I hope other people list their reviews regarding this incident on here too as there will be 900 people all receiving the same response.
DO NOT BOOK WITH SkiWorld !!!!!

n complete contrast to the last review, I was repatriated from France on March 17 by Ski World. Yes we had to endure two coach rides totalling some 13 hours, but the airports were very unpredictable and none of use fancied being left at an airport for hours with France locking down. The Ski World chalet staff made us cakes and other food and encouraged us to take plenty of fruit etc which was vital for a journey where none of the restaurants were open. We were even encouraged to take the remaining wine!
The staff on resort were kindness itself and at Calais, the Ski World staff stayed and looked after our cases while we took shelter from the cold. Yes the coach back to England was two hours late but the staff kept smiling and being helpful.
I felt that yes, the whole situation was dreadful but that was this virus, not the company's fault and the repatriation could have been a whole lot worse!
I will definitely book with them again.

Excellent from booking, to courtesy call prior to travel to check all OK, collection from the airport to a fantastic week in a chalet and return home after one of my best holiday ski experiences in 40 years of travel. Wont travel with anyone else for future ski breaks.

Great staff! Great organisation. Chalet Furka is a lovely chalet and definitely great food. Very clean. Would like a bigger social area and fresh bread.
Brilliant in the crisis
I have been on many SkiWorld holidays and always rated them very highly. Great chalets, excellent food, and their staff are cheerful friendly and helpful as they themselves are well supported by the company. During this Coronavirus Crisis they took it to another level. The company did their utmost to establish whether our holiday would be able to go ahead but despite assurances to the contrary the French government closed the resort just 12 hours after we arrived. The evacuation of hundreds of guests and staff from scores of resorts in a calm, and very efficient manor was performed cheerfully and swiftly - all done within 72hours - and we were well looked after and kept informed throughout despite the rapidly evolving situation. I would like to thank all the staff involved for a job very well done.

Great holiday, spacious chalet, some of the bathrooms need up dating.
Food delicious and plentiful.
The chalet hosts were friendly but the living area was not cleaned daily, bedrooms weren’t touched during our stay. Table was not always set up properly. Also they needed a better knowledge of the local area.
Loved the fact we could ski back to the door. Not sure if I would go back to Alpe de Huez hated keeping ending in the bowl and big queues.
Loved the apres ski,espically LA FOLIE DOUCE and the Underground. Smiths bar is good for burgers.

Very welcoming chalet staff
Pluses: Very welcoming staff. Very good food (and I'm fussy). Good company. OK chalet location but you can't ski back to the door (but you can ski FROM the door - coming back there's a road in the way). Nice room with enough clothes storage. Close to resort centre, lift pass sales and ski rental shops.
Minuses: Being badgered to do this review when I've already submitted one! I thought the accom would be an actual chalet (bijou wooden building) but it's a couple of floors in a larger apartment block. Could not tell from the pre-trip photos. It didn't really matter. Entire staff away for an entire day on an awayday - they should have left a skeleton crew. Result was a huge pile of dirty dishes and glasses - luckily there wasn't a health inspection!

Experience was great and service was good. I would say there were a couple things that need to be worked on, i.e. bathrooms very outdated, weird smell coming from outside bedroom that wasn’t dealt with / no intention of being dealt with, options for people with allergies not consistent throughout the week and neither was the service.
There also could have been further help with ski lessons for beginners.
Val Thorens
Easy booking, excellent organisation. Reps and chalet hosts were very friendly & helpful. Transfers were easy and organised only downside is we had to change coaches to a minibus, but it wasn’t really a problem.
CORONA in SkiWorld Val Thorens
I have just heard that Ski World staff in Val Thorens have been hit by Covid (Coronavirus) but have been told by local resort management not to contact French Public Health Authorities .They have also had a case where a UK doctor self isolated until he was facilitated to travel back to the UK with our French authorities being notified . If this is true and I've been told by a reliable source ,it is cri minal and should be investigated and treated as such by the French authorities

Furnishings cheap and dirty. Mediocre food. Chalet Host was unprofessional and clueless about any form of customer service. TV, radiators, steam room and lights not working or fixed. Great Skiworld chalet hosts in St Anton. Chalet Rosemarie excellent location close to Nasserein gondola and good local bar. Skiing area fantastic with interconnecting lifts over large area. Highly recommend SkiWorld and St Anton ski area.

Chalet Violetta, Tignes
Stayed at Chalet Violetta, Tignes. Room 3. The hosts Katie and Emma were just delightful and the food and cakes they prepared were delicious. Room 3 was spacious, the bathroom a little on the small side but plenty of hot water. On arrival we noted there was only one wardrobe but the room was spacious enough to have both suitcases on the floor for additional storage. The sauna heated up quickly. My only slight negative is when leaving the boot room you are required to press and hold a button while pulling the door at the same time. Not easy to do when carrying skis and poles. A lovely chalet and super hosts.
