Poor packaging, damaged vinyl, good customer service
I was so impressed with how quickly my first order with Smart Home Sounds was dispatched. Unfortunately the packaging was a inadequate for DPD delivery and the vinyl has mushed corners and the records themself are damaged, as does the WiiM Mini box.
I was quickly contacted by Amelia to help resolve the issue. Customer service from Smart Home Sounds was good, but it's not worth the hassle to return a single record. If you're going to sell vinyl, packaged it properly (not a single loose cardboard pack). Unfortunately, companies need to do a better job to mitigate the way courier firms handle deliveries.

It’s disappointing to hear that the items arrived with damaged corners. We use specific packaging for our vinyl, along with bubble wrap for other items, to try to ensure everything is well protected during transit, so we’re sorry this wasn’t the case with your order.

These are really helpful and will allow us to raise this with DPD so we can work with them to ensure all parcels are handled with care.

Great service. Best price I could find online!
I found the turntable I was looking for at a great price, with free next-day delivery. With the welcome discount code, it was the best price I could find anywhere – even cheaper than Amazon! It arrived safe and sound – well packaged. Can't fault the service and communication.

Very quick despatch and quick delivery but DPD just left the delivery outside the house. The set up of the Sonos equipment was extremely easy. The Sonos app needs to be improved.

Bought the ERA 100 which works very…
Bought the ERA 100 which works very well but was unfortunately misled by the description of "stereo sound" as the unit is not stereo but mono (summed stereo). to get true stereo I would need to by a second unit but am reluctant to do so?
The main reason for purchase was to check translation of mixes from my project home studio which I do on several devices. The unit does sound very good as it is and will become useful I am sure.
I did receive a prompt, polite and apologetic reply to my review from SHS explaining that they have only passed on the manufacturers description of the ERA 100. This is good customer service in the circumstances.

I’m sorry to hear you found the description of the Era 100 misleading.
We use the same terminology as Sonos themselves, as well as other retailers selling the Era 100. The Era 100 features two angled tweeters which Sonos describes as providing stereo sound from a single speaker, rather than the traditional stereo separation you would get from two speakers positioned apart.
For true left and right stereo separation, you would need to pair two Era 100s together as a stereo pair.
The good news is, if the Era 100 isn’t quite what you were expecting, you’re welcome to take advantage of our 30-day returns period and send it back to us. Our team will be more than happy to help - SHS
Great prices, unfair shipping costs
Great prices, great customer service and great warranty. Only complain is delivery services to the Isle of Wight, only DPD Next Day available for a small Sonos Era 100 speaker, £15 shipping when it's free for the mainland. I may understantd for bigger and more expensive items but for example Royal Mail and others, including other DPD services it's same cost as for the mainland. In this case it is excessive

Unfortunately, DPD apply an additional charge to our account when delivering to certain locations, including the Isle of Wight. We do have to pass this charge on to ensure we're still able to offer delivery to these areas.
We completely appreciate your feedback and can totally see where you're coming from. We regularly review delivery pricing with DPD and will continue to raise this with them to see what improvements can be made.

We’re really sorry to hear that DPD delayed your delivery. It’s especially disappointing as we dispatched your order on time using a premium delivery service.
We use DPD as they are statistically one of the UK’s most reliable couriers, but unfortunately on this occasion they let us both down.
I can see you contacted us regarding the delay, and Amelia responded to your email within an hour. As requested, she then cancelled your order and arranged a full refund.
