Two out of three installers produced…
Two out of three installers produced useless quotes that were designed around maximising use of the solar energy loan scheme rather than my actual requirements, and would not modify the quoted services or answer reasonable questions about their recommended items. One of those was so bad I have referred the quote to the government loan scheme provider as possibly fraudulent. The third never got back to me when I asked for them to contact me by email. Totally useless.

We found the SolarQuotes website good, providing solid information which meant we started our search on a good basis. Received approaches from all three firms quickly. While we will be waiting until March to have the installation completed (not surprising with current rush); we anticipate the process will run smoothly, based on the organised and efficient way the chosen firm approached us.

Only received two reference installers
Only received two reference installers, one of which indicated they had already quoted for us on a previous occasion, this was over 18 months ago so can't see how this would be relevant. They eventually got back to me and quoted anyway. The second installer got back to me promptly and produced a quote for me. Still in a dilemma though as the preferred installer was quoting Sigenergy hardware and, given the issues and recalls not sure how comfortable I'd be with this.

I have 2 companies contact me, I requested solar quotes, that I wanted person, to come to site, and I can run through some different options, that I wanted to find out more.. I had one company, ring straight away, told they don't need to come to site. Trying to convey, everything, over a phone was hard. That company, I didn't hear back from them, until solar quotes told them to call me back. Had another person, had to tell them everything again over a phone. Still no quotes in writing? 3 weeks.. the other company, come to site, was very good in communicating with myself, and helping me with my different solutions, they could offer. But after visit, no quotes?? Also that contractors, phone no. Comes up as a spam call??

Apologies I called at a busy time the past few calls I made. If it's easier i've sent an email asking if you could give me further details for this situation. I've followed up with the 2 companies you were matched with and both let me know they have sent quotes and are checking in on that spam call situation - I got them to call me with the numbers they call on and it showed up normally for me but maybe if you could send me the numbers they called on I can double check. I'd like to get that sorted.
They also both let me know they do site visits, one of them is situated quite far from the property but let me know there may have been a misunderstanding. Let me know if that is not the case. I'm also happy to refer you other installers if that suits you better. Keen to help you get a suitable quote.

Heat pump quotations
I was seeking quotations for a heat pump water heater and the process worked perfectly. I received two quotations and discussed the project with each of the bidders. They were friendly and knowledgeable. I have selected one bidder and am waiting for an installation date. No problems so far.

Going back to a familiar face
I had used MJJ solar for my solar panels, recommended by Finn Peacock in 2019, so it seemed appropriate to ask them to quote for a battery.
They were quick and responsive, but I did think I should get 2 more quotes. This proved a little slower, and even though I had contacted both companies, I really knew I would go with MJJ Solar. They offered a good price with the battery being a new smaller unit than others discussed. So today we signed again.
