Engineer arrived on time and carried out job with minimal involvement from me. Work carried out efficiently and area left clean. Afterwards, he explained all that had been done during the service. We're very satisfied with the job. Thank you.

Jon Thompson returned to replace a part for our fire.
As with his previous visit, he was friendly, professional and respectful of our home.
Very careful with the repairs and left us with a wonderful fire back to its prime.

We have been having an issue with our…gazco fire
We have been having an issue with our fire not igniting so arranged a call out with gazco. The engineer assigned to the job was Jon Thompson.He rang ahead to say he was on his way and on arrival he was very polite and friendly .He respected our home using dust sheets etc and got straight on with the job . Apparently the issue he found was that the gas valve was stuck therefore no gas was reaching the pilot light to ignite the fire so we need a new one which has to be calibrated in Exeter so he will need to come back at a later date to install that . Jon was very informative the whole visit explaining what he was doing and he tried every possible thing he could to try and get the valve to open but it was stuck solid. I appreciated that he took the time to explain and show me what the problem was as it will be expensive to repair. He is very knowledgeable and he is easy to talk to. I felt he was more like a friend by the time he left rather than just the engineer . I would definitely recommend Jon as 10 stars 🌟

Unfortunately, the valve is a consumerable part, and in a fire which has been installed for 6 ½ years, it appears to have seized up over time and use. Stovax Gazco flame effect gas fire
I recently purchased and had installed a flame effect gas fire supplied from Stovax Gazco, we were really attracted to the fire by the heat output and compact and attractive design of the unit. And we haven’t been disappointed now that it has been installed and in full use.
For us there really isn’t any other fire design that comes close to competing with this fire.
I really would thoroughly recommend and endorse this fire to anyone considering purchasing a living flame effect gas fire unit, a very efficient fire and is excellent value for its price.

I can really recommend Stovax Gasco fires, they are so well made and very attractive, we are so happy with our beautiful fire. The gas flames and logs are so realistic and it makes the room really cosy. The remote control is a real bonus, no more crouching in front of the fire clicking away till the pilot light catches. 🤣 wouldn’t have any other fire 🔥

My Engineer (Shane Bush)
My Engineer (Shane Bush) was very good. He went through all the possible issues with my fire and spent quite a bit of time getting to the bottom of the problem. He was clean and tidy and I though did a really good job.
He did explain about the noise and that the fan was the part making the noise (which weren't expecting).

John Thompson is a fantastic engineer
I have just had my fire repaired and serviced today by John Thompson. He is an absolute credit to your firm. Friendly, efficient and super experienced. He found the fault in minutes which other engineers had failed to find and fix. He has also fully serviced the fire and provided us with really helpful information on inherent problems with this type of fire. Also very impressed with his knowledge and experience. My so who is an apprentice heating engineer was watching with interest and John took time out to explain to him everything he was doing. Very impressed with this man. I just wish we’d phoned him first. I will definitely be using this firm again. I would give John 10 stars if I could. Thankyou John!

Jon, like all our engineers, is a great credit to our company and one of the reasons we can offer the 5-star aftercare service we are so proud of.
With all our engineers being highly trained, they are quick to diagnose and resolve issues which your own engineer might have missed. They also thoroughly clean your fire or stove and will replace the pilot assembly. This should be done on all gas fires and stoves every 1-2 years, as recommended by Gas Safe (this is a safety precaution and not an inherent problem)
Our engineers will always take time to explain what they have done and the best way to use your appliance efficiently, so you are left happy knowing your fire is looking and working like new.

We chose Stovax after a lot of research, and it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our home.

Stovax Gasco gas fire ignition fault
Stovax Gasco emialed me with the appointment with absolute clarity.
John Thompson the engineer gave me plenty of notice of arrival and arrived on time.
He put on overshoes and a dust sheet in the working area. He found the fault with great efficiency, fixed the fault and flawlessly tideied up after himself.

Ray called today to service our gas fire. A difficulty with lack of power meant we may have had to stop using it but he gave it some thought and was able to solve the problem. He was polite, helpful and professional throughout.
