Overall experience

After the first order arrived missing components , the 2nd replacement order arriving missing to only a 3rd time order the same thing , just different version to also arrive being faulty....Then have to replace a 4th order to then go and collect a distance away from me....Definitely has me shocked at what an overall customer experiance this is...Sure right why go and reorder and continue to purchases if Im not happy with service and purchase, the thing is when the matter becomes a reason of integrity and keeping a promise as a gift I'd have hope to been able to rely on Yourselves and services as your business states ... Very disappointed with everything ....

Incompetent consultants and team leaders!

What a pathetic excuse for a company! I ordered a toy set for my daughter which arrived on 1 Dec. 2025 at my workplace. A couple of days later after opening the unit, we discovered it had a missing piece and I logged a return with the option to replace. The item was collected from my HOUSE, because at this point I was on leave. A day or two later the return was concluded and my account was CREDITED! I had to call in to rectify it and change it back to the replacement option. The replacement was in process and without my knowledge or consent, the replacement was sent out for delivery to my work address. I had to call in again to rectify the delivery address and I had to wait another 5 working days. Time passed and the replacement was out for delivery for a second time and to my surprise it was on its way to my work address AGAIN - even after confirming my home address!

Eventually on 29 Dec. 2025, I got to speak to a consultant by the name of Linda whom I thought would have been able to assist me properly. After assuring me she will send me an email to confirm that I will get my delivery within 3 days, I didn't receive anything! On 30 December I spoke to Zoey, another USELESS team leader! What an excuse for a human being!!!! Another person who promised to email me and then suddenly was on leave by 2 Jan 2025.

Now I am also being given the run around by another TEAM LEADER by the name of Tinashe! No updates on email or via calls unless I call her!

Takealot, TAKE your online store offline and give your employees better training, because they all seem extremely incompetent!!!

Time management

Takelot going very greater on dates but when it comes to delivery locations you and up using your own transport to pickup the order and when it keeps on happening a will live it.

Yes takealot alright stealing

This company cant help me just steal my money from a cloned card case someone stole my bank info and stole money from me and bought from here. I try to cancel this transaction with them same day it happened and they couldn't help me i spoke with 5 different people all cant stop it and let the criminal get away with it.

I trusted takealot for many years but now I am deciding to find other online shops takealot just play
around I paid extra for next day delivery then they just keep me on a line that day still didn't receive my order I would 100% not recommend takealot

I had a return unit

I had a return unit, while the driver was waiting for me by the security gate at my work place a coloured guy came through and swearing at the courier guy calling him with names simply because he was complaining about how the driver parked the car, very worse part of it the guy took the pictures of the courier guy and his car threatening him that he will ensure that he launch a complaint against the guy to his work place, while the innocent courier guy was trying to humble himself and explain the situation..super worried about how the courier guy is doing his name is Victor Malimke from Take a lot cape town, kindness the best we can do as South Africans despite our Job title please

Bad Service

Bad Service, Slow Responds and do not honour their commitment to replace a defect device(Samsung TV) even though its still under warranty and a common faulty on this particular model from Samsung according to our local TV repair guy. Take-a-Lot went out of their way to avoid replacing the TV by prolonging the matter and kept coming with excuses why they couldn't replace it making it final by saying it wasnt packed proper in the box. What a joke. Will NEVER purchase another product through Take-A-Lot. I rather spend a bit extra making sure to get a proper service if needed.

Suspicious transaction by Takealot

Takealot sold us a mobile phone that belonged to an individual who rented the same phone from another company. When the individual stop paying his rental agreement the company then blocked the phone we bought form Takealot. We lodge several queries, send emails and received no assistance apart from Takealot collecting the mobile device with all our personal data on. Not to mention the inconvenience. We have been Takealot customers for years, but this transaction is very suspicious.

Would highly recommend buying from takealot. All queries are resolved quickly. As long as the buyer keeps within the takealot time frames for returns, no issues.

I can buy with 100% confidence knowing that if there is any issues with the item during warranty period, takealot gets this sorted ASAP.

BASICALLY EXTORTION - Prices are ridiculous and keeps getting more expensive.

I wanted to buy a roll of bubble wrap for R560.00 - The charge for delivery is R280.00!!! Half the price!!!

Don't use them

I have good experiences with them before, but the bad has now outweighed the good. I have paid extra for the next day delivery and it didn't come. I have also ordered another package on Tuesday. They said it will be delivered today and it didn't come. I'm so fed up. I have spend thousands buying items from Takealot. My advice would be rather buy local from reputable companies. Trust me the saving on R500 here and there isn't worth this competence and blatant lies.

same day delivery is a scam

Never do same day delivery, drivers are instructed not to not attempt delivery on the day, they will wait for about 4-5pm, then send you an update saying that they tried to deliver but you were not home. Takealot then pockets R95 which is not refundable pointing to their policy which said they tried. You can be infront of your house, and they will still say you were not available. I did this 6 times and all 6 same thing happened. Same day is a scame, also the new TakealotMore is also a scame,they still charge you per delivery even if you pay the R99 pm. Don't fall for it. Wait for Amazon to be fully stocked in SA, then they will take over with better service.

Worst Delivery Service

Ordered this product and after 2 weeks of waiting they sent an email stating that they have sent it to the wrong adress and they would fix this issue.After 1 more week they sent me an email that they refunded me.I did not ask for a refund so i emailed them that i want the product that i paid for with delivery costs and still the only reply i get is i must re order the product and then i must pay again for delivery cost of which i have now lost.
