Really easy account to use and I love that my money is held in physical gold. The app is simple, the card works like normal and the whole thing feels much more transparent. Really happy so far!

I thought this company were a good idea…

I thought this company was a good idea in theory but they took the £9 initial opening fee but the app wouldn’t work.
I asked them close the account and return my money due to my lack of trust in them and they’ve just gone dark.
There our hidden fees aswell so you’re better off just buying physical gold yourself.

Proceed with caution.

I was considering investing with this company but I checked with the Financial Conduit Authority FCA and they are no longer registered. Who said: "This company is no longer registered with the FCA and can no longer issue electronic money or provide payment services". So be warned.

This review is somewhat misleading. TallyMoney has always and continues to operate within a structure under an FCA-approved EMI (Electronic Money Institution). When TallyMoney first went live in the UK we operated under the EMI, PayrNet Limited, and in that structure we were a registered EMD Agent. Now that we are under our current EMI, Transact Payments Limited, we operate as Program Manager and therefore the EMD Agent identification no longer applies. This change has no bearing or affect on the protections and benefits a TallyMoney Account provides our customers.

Inflation proof current account…

Having started my precious metals investing in 2019 the only thing missing was a convenient means of converting back to cash and being able to purchase goods. Along came TallyMoney, a current account that buys gold and gives access to atm and retail. Easy to set up, charges in line with the markets, gold based on Spot Price, easy to use, accepted everywhere, it seems and an eye catching debit card that sparks conversation. No need for banks. I recommend to all who wish to preserve their wealth and protect against inflation. Brilliant!

Brilliant solution to inflation

Absolutely brilliant solution to inflation and general government incompetence. Gold that you can spend like money is a revolutionary concept. If your money is sitting in a bank account, it's losing value fast. I highly recommend TallyMoney!

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful! Takes days for your money to get cleared to your account and then want to know the ins and outs of a cats arse. Absolutely awful to deal with, and blame their system saying it’s being built 😳 unbelievable. Don’t touch them. Well if your system is fully up and running, then you need to tell your staff, they continuously and repeatedly said the system is being built but not working yet!

We’re really sorry to hear your experience wasn’t what you expected - that’s never what we want for our customers.

Just to clarify, our system is fully up and running. While we’re always improving and adding new features, it’s stable and working as intended. Tally is part of the Faster Payments Scheme, meaning most transfers go through almost instantly. However, some can take a little longer - particularly when there’s a large deposit or a higher volume of transactions over a short period.

When that happens, we may need to purchase and allocate additional gold before crediting it to your account. This can take a few hours to one working day, but it’s a key part of making sure your money is always properly accounted for and protected.

To comply with financial regulations around fraud prevention, anti-money laundering and terrorist financing, we also run security checks on all transactions. If something is flagged, extra verification is needed before approval - which can cause short delays, but it’s a crucial step in protecting our customers and keeping their money safe.

Good but not on Sunday

I have been using TallyMoney for just over a month now. It's easy and simple to use.

Transfer funds in, they show up in the Tally bank within 5 minutes usually unless a Sunday, you wont be able to transfer in on a Sunday due to banks being closed and how Tally works.

They provide a visa debit mastercard usable anywhere your normal visa debit is taken and can withdraw cash from ATMs with it. I haven't tried taking out at an ATM but I have transferred out into my bank through the app. Funds are readily available.

Customer service is fast and they have helped me with any problem or query I have had, resolved within minutes. However they do not have any dedicated support on a Sunday but I have received support on a Sunday through someone working out of hours.

I'm giving 4* simply on the fact that if you transfer in on a Sunday it wont even show until Monday, causing a bit of panic. Other than that everything has been good.

Usually, your gold lands in your account within minutes, if not instantly. On rare occasions (often Sundays), deposits can take a little longer. That’s because every tally represents real gold, and if demand is high, we may need to buy more via our LBMA-accredited broker before allocating it. This can take a few hours to a working day. We’d never issue Tally without the gold safely in the vault.

Don’t use this TallyMoney platform

Don’t use this TallyMoney platform. There scams and will hold you money for days without plans of depositing it. Their customer services is terrible. I wonder how they got above 4. Ratings. I won’t even give them a star if possible

I began small with Tally in case it was…

I began small with Tally in case it was too good to be true... Have become very nervous of high street banks was looking for an alternative.
Happily now increasing my account daily with Tally as I watch my funds rise. Thank you Tally. Very easy to use and safer than holding gold

I am not sure about Tax and Capital…

I am not sure about Tax and Capital Gains ? Also there are chargers to this account that are high. What i thought was holding my Money in a trading 212 account in gold and transferring it to my current account when needed. if there was a flat fee i would be happier but the 0.5% is just annoying. I like the concept but the costs make me think twice about using it ... and the tax !!!

With Tally, you’re holding physical, allocated gold in your name - not a CFD or derivative. That means your money is outside of the banking system and protected from counterparty risk, unlike with trading platforms.

Our 0.5% account keeping fee covers the storage, insurance and operational costs of safeguarding your gold. To put that into perspective, it works out at around 42p per month for each £1,000 held (subject to a £3 monthly minimum). Many customers find that peace of mind and transparency are more valuable than hidden or variable charges often built into other products.

On the tax side, holding gold is treated like owning any other asset in the UK, so gains could be subject to Capital Gains Tax (CGT). The joining process was relatively straightforward.

Keeping a high amount of gold whether it’s in your property or someone else’s is extremely risky.

You or whoever, is most likely to get robbed. And many robberies for gold are extremely violent.

I am sooo glad I have a secure place such as tally money to keep getting richer.

I have been searching for something like this for a long, long time.

Now, with tally money, I have a lot of convenience and am very satisfied!!

I was apprehensive of opening an…

I was apprehensive of opening an account, and I will admit I am thick, so maybe I just don't understand the point of it.
I thought I'd just put £20 in as a test to see if its value grows. It hasn't grown. Surely if gold has grown, and my £20 was converted into digital gold, then my £20 should be worth a little bit more, even if just a few pence?
I would add more funds if I could see growth, but i'm not seeing it. What am I missing? (Don't say a brain as I know i don't get finances)

When you pop £20 into your Tally account, it’s converted into tally (where 1 tally = 1 milligram of gold). The value of your balance then moves in line with the daily gold price, which does go up and down. So depending on the day, your balance might look slightly higher, the same, or even a little lower.

Gold’s strength is usually seen over the long run rather than in a quick test of a few days or weeks.
