Good idea, but the content of the Privacy Policy are scary.

The idea is certainly good, but reading the contract and Privacy Policy will simply make your hair stand on end.

1. Your funds are handled by a third-party intermediary regulated in Gibraltar. This means that if something goes wrong, recovering your money could become a massive bureaucratic nightmare.
2. They collect complete data about your health. I don't know why this is necessary, but it says that it can affect the services you receive.
Will your account be closed if you get sick?

There were a few other suspicious points, but I won't list them here to save space. I am in no way claiming this is a bad company; just make sure to read the contract carefully before using it.

On the Gibraltar point: your IBAN payment account and Mastercard are issued by Transact Payments Limited, an e-money institution regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission. This isn’t unusual as most UK fintechs use a licensed e-money issuer rather than holding a full banking licence themselves. Your GBP funds are held in segregated safeguarding accounts under UK e-money regulations (not co-mingled with TPL’s own funds), and in the unlikely event TPL or TallyMoney ceased trading, funds are returned via that safeguarding process. It’s a different mechanism to FSCS bank protection, but it’s a standard, regulated structure, not a loophole.

On the health data point: that clause exists because UK financial regulation (FCA Consumer Duty) requires firms to be able to record and act on customer vulnerability, for example, if someone discloses a serious illness, bereavement, or cognitive difficulty, especially during a support call. It lets our team handle that situation appropriately. It is not a health questionnaire, it’s not collected at sign-up, and it has no bearing on whether your account stays open or what services you can access. Happy to clarify further if useful.

They absolutely will not accept to…

They absolutely will not accept to replace a lost or stolen card informtong you have the maximum one card (which is likely stolen) leaving no choice but to just abandon the account.

Long term

This is a long term investment you can lose as well as gain you know the costs upfront gold should gain in price over time so don't invest for a quick fix all this is there if you check

I am a new customer,so early days ,i think the app is really easy to use and explained well.

Be prepared for the possible pitfalls of investing

I paid just under £100 in to start my Tallymoney account, as I was understandably a little apprehensive, trusting a company I've never heard of. But they seemed to have a sizeable following, and I was interested in new ways of making my money grow.
So from my initial investment, I noticed that the value would fluctuate, which I sort of expected. But I was taken in by the marketing blurb that the value of gold tends go up over time. So after a few days, I decided to invest a further £500 after I gained a little more confidence. But then I began to see my investment start to decrease over the following days, so I decided to withdraw my money to cut my losses. I have now invested that capital into a tax free ISA instead.
I am a little dismayed though, as not only did I lose £20 over the two weeks I had money invested in Tallymoney, you also have to pay £9 if you want a debit card, and they also charge a small percentage fee on every £1 you invest.
So overall, I lost about £30 in a fortnight. It could have been worse, much worse, but I just want to make people aware, that there are risks involved, and you CAN lose money, albeit in my case, it was a small amount. But that could easily multiply if you invest many thousands of pounds. And it could be money that you may never get back, or at least, not for a very long time.
So be prepared for the possible pitfalls, as it wasn't money that I accrued from the increase of gold values that I lost, it was actual money from my capital investment.

You’re absolutely right that the value of your balance can fluctuate in the short term. Because each tally equals 1 milligram of gold, the pound value of your account moves with the global gold price, which can rise and fall over shorter periods.

Just to clarify a couple of points about pricing: when funds are added to a TallyMoney Account there is a 1.49% fee, and the gold is purchased at the live global spot price. However, there are no fees when withdrawing funds, transferring money, or spending with the TallyMoney debit card, including abroad.

Many customers choose Tally as a way to hold money linked to gold for the long term. While short-term price movements can go either way, gold has historically performed strongly over time, increasing by around 12% per year on average over the past decade.

Hold your money to gain interest DREADFUL BANK

Only bank with tally if you can wait 4 days for your money to clear into the account. HANDS DOWN Worst bank I’ve ever encountered, I’ve had every bank you can think of and tally put my VERY FIRST transaction on hold. £400 on hold came from my own account to tally and there’s a 2/3 day hold. 3 days in no release still pending.

Deposits made from an account in your own name generally move through the process smoothly. However, when funds originate from a third party, such as a friend sending money or certain benefit payments, additional checks are triggered.

These extra checks are there to protect customers and may require us to contact you for further information. While we aim to complete them as quickly as possible, the timeframe can vary depending on what’s required.

Easy to use the app and to join

Easy to use the app and to join, debit card applied for during the process, said card arrived in a couple of days. App allows you to have up to three different pots to put your money in as well as the main account. Easy to transfer from one to the other.

I was looking for a way to invest in gold, this does that combined with easy access to withdraw etc. Of course the value held in the account fluctuates in line with gold price.

DO NOT TRUST!

If you want to invest for fun a small sum that you can loose, fine. But DO NOT invest anything that you are not prepared to loose. I trusted them seeing adverts all over GB News. Opened an account and paid for it. Got hassled for fees since I did not put any money into the account as I was a bit wary, also I had problem logging in and it took several emails to get help. Eventually I decided to transfer £675 from my bond account. Talley Money acts like a bank account, right? So like with my other bank accounts Im able to transfer money to/from my bond account with no problems. Well after the transfer Tally held the payment asking me to provide all sorts of proof that it's my account, asking for statements etc (his is for £675, hardly anything significant). Well there are no statements in bond account so I could not provide that. So they said they will cancel the transfer. Money never got back and still shown as pending in my Tally account. Messaged them, got an automated answer that they will investigate and notify me via email. The transfer was made on 31st of December. Today is 19 of February - no reply, no email, no money. Perhaps I was right not trusting them 🤔

Invite Friends Earn Tally….. unless they can wriggle out of paying you! I’ve got an account with Tally and “invited” my wife through their Invite Friends scheme, it’s a win win, we both get a tiny bonus….. not. Started the application on the 28th Jan ( strangely, I notice there’s 2 other complaints about not receiving bonus around this date on Trustpilot) followed and complied with all their rules (they send you an “invite” code to input during the procedure) which I made a note of. So, wait the 14day cooling off period and…… no bonus paid to either of us. Contact customer service yesterday and the explanation… “ you didn’t send the code we gave you to your “friend” so we can’t pay the bonus” ermm, yeah I did, it was initiated through your systems! I forwarded customer service the code that I received during the invite procedure as proof, I mean how could I have this code if I hadn’t invited a friend? Customer service was uninterested in the evidence even suggesting at one point that the code should have been sent manually? Really?.My wife and I followed procedure to the letter and all fees requested paid. The bonus isn’t massive so it’s not worth my time making a big deal over it but if Tally are going to offer it as an incentive, it’s very bad management to try and avoid paying out. Very poor behaviour. Get your act together Tally. No point in sending a nice response, the damage is done.

Great stuff

ive only had my tally money account a week now. a great and different app. everything in place. and I enjoy seeing how things happen and change. I'm a artist myself and choosing my abstract debit card was a pleasure. when I opened my 3 new safes I decided to use 3 of my own original norfolk watercolour paintings as screen shots so I can enjoy seeing my work in the app.great stuff.
