I have to give a 5 star review to Abbie from customer service for the outstanding help and support she gave me recently. I had been having trouble with a gift card and unfortunately received no real assistance through the live chat service, where the representative Jay/Jamie seemed uninterested in helping. I also visited the local store and was met with a very unhelpful staff member, which left me feeling extremely disappointed.
Abbie (I hope I spelled her name right) completely turned the experience around. She was warm, professional, patient, and genuinely cared about resolving the issue for me. She went above and beyond to help and made me feel valued as a customer throughout the entire process. Her positive attitude and willingness to assist stood out so much after the poor experiences I’d had beforehand.
Abbie is a real credit to the customer service team and I honestly couldn’t praise her enough. Thank you again, Abbie, for your kindness and exceptional support 👏🏼

Freshways wrap - absolutely unacceptable experience
My son found a snail in his wrap, which is something no customer should ever have to deal with, especially when it’s a ready-to-eat product. This isn’t just unpleasant, it’s a serious failure in basic food safety and quality control.
We received a long, technical response explaining how it “likely came from the lettuce” and outlining their processes. But in reality, none of that changes the outcome - a snail still made it through their system and into food that was sold for immediate consumption.
Being told that they “can’t guarantee zero insects/snails” is not reassuring. Customers expect food to be safe and properly checked before it reaches the shelf, particularly when it’s being eaten without further washing or preparation.
To make matters worse, the goodwill gesture was a €15 voucher, which feels completely inadequate given the nature of the issue -especially as it involved a child.
Overall, very disappointing. The response felt more like deflection than accountability. I would seriously question the standards being applied before buying again.
Failed attempts to review items/contact customer service
Have attempted to review items, good and not so good several times, however ‘every time’ there is an error and ‘unable to leave a review at this time’. Attempted to find an email address for customer contact/complaints, and their website repeatedly defaults to ‘promotions’ in the ‘contact us’ section.
Impossible to send a written communication, only option is to phone during office hours - leaving you with no proof of contact.
Very disappointing customer service options from Head Office, yet on the ground in the store the staff excel in every way possible.
MIXED EXPERIENCES, please read to the end
My experiences with TESCO have been many and varied. My nearest store is in Fermoy Co Cork Ireland but i am quite often not allowed to shop there as they have barriers stopping anyone who drives a tall van entering the car park. So unless I go home & collect my car on working days, I end up shopping elsewhere, such as in Supervalu or Lidl right beside Tesco as they do not discriminate against the working class. So i used to shop a lot in Tesco when I lived in Mallow but not so much in Fermoy. Management have not responded to my questions regarding that discrimination as many Tesco stores welcome all shoppers but Fermoy & Cashel do not.
Today then I experienced a small problem with my Click & Collect as I was informed that my credit card details were out of date. I immediately logged on to my account and tried to follow the instructions, Tesco had sent to me but none of their suggested options could be accessed either on the Tesco app or website. I contacted customer service in Ireland and they could not find anywhere to update my details, said it must be a software glitch and told me that it could take 48 hours to sort and that there was nothing more they could do. Bearing in mind, my order had some frozen items in it, which I did not wish to be spoiled, even if Tesco could not supply, I then phoned the Fermoy branch phone number which is actually a UK customer service number and got through to a female service advisor named Mimi Serath. I explained the problem, informed her that I had phoned the Irish customer service and they could not help and asked her if I could speak to someone who could help. This woman then went on to demand my postcode, and after giving it to her 3 times, she informed me that this was incorrect, whereupon I informed her that it was the postcode I had been given when it was allocated to me when Ireland brought in post codes, she wasnt having this so she demanded the order number for my Click & Collect order, again made me repeat this a number of times before declaring this incorrect also. Then she demanded my Club Card number and once again informed me that no Tesco Club Card's digits started with 634000 even though i repeatedly informed her that I was simply reading direct from my club card. Then she told me that there was a glitch in their IT system and that she would report it to them, whereupon I again told her that I had already been told this from the Irish customer service and that all I was looking for was to speak to someone who could help me to update my credit card details and she adamantly refused to transfer me to someone a little more intelligent than she was and instead told me either herself or someone from IT would phone me back shortly.
True to her word she herself phoned me back a few minutes later and then told me that while she was filling out the IT complaint form it had dawned on her that I was phoning from Ireland. When I pointed out that I had told her that many times, including that the Irish customer service had not been able to help me, and that she had actually phoned me back on an Irish phone number and that all i wanted was to talk to someone who could help, she refused and insisted I phone the Irish customer service again, when i pointed out that this was going to be futile she hung up on me. She really should be working for the Keystone Cops comedy show.
At this point I had given up on getting my Click & Collect order and was preparing to go shopping anywhere but in Tesco when my phone rang with an unknown number. When I answered the call, I was met with a lovely friendly voice who introduced herself as Kayla, one of the Click & Collect staff in Fermoy. Kayla, it has to be said was fantastic and a credit to any company as an employee and she went on to explain that she was aware of the problem and that the groceries had already been picked and were ready and if I wished I could call in any time during the afternoon, whereupon she would scan every item and my clubcard and that i could then pay with my credit card in the store. God bless her, after my experience with Mimi the shrew, Kayla was like a breath of fresh air and she made it quite clear that i was a valued customer (even though she did not know me) and that herself and the rest of the staff would do everything possible to be of help.
If I could I would nominate Kayla as The Employee of 2026 and everything she offered to do came true exactly as she said it would, and for that I thank you Kayla, and Tesco should thank her also as she turned around a customer who in his own mind had vowed never to shop in Tesco again to one who was blown away at the actions and downright pleasantness of that young girl. She should be in HR teaching staff like Mimi Serath how not to treat customers as idiots. To finish, I only gave this review 3 stars but Mimi deserved none while Kayla in particular and indeed, your Irish customer staff deserve at least 10.

Weekly Tesco click and collect Clarehall
I’ve used all the delivery and click and collect services since 2014. I keep going back to Tesco, they are reliable. The click and collect set up in Clare hall is ideal, similar to a drive through and the staff are brilliant. It’s is usually Anthony (Anto) that’s on the kiosk and he is quick and efficient and keeps the line moving along to ensure everyone gets their shopping swiftly. There are three bays and I have never waited more than a couple of minutes. I have moved house and have closer Tesco and other shops but keep returning to Tesco Clarehall.
Broken Bottle return machine
I shop in Tesco Terenure regularly, but the bottle return machine is almost always out of order. It’s honestly becoming a joke at this stage. Every time I bring back bottles, I end up having to take them home again because the machine isn’t working.
For a busy store, you’d expect something like this to be maintained properly. It’s really inconvenient and defeats the whole purpose of the return scheme. Staff are generally fine, but this issue keeps happening and doesn’t seem to get fixed long-term.
Sort it out please—people rely on it.

Getting over-65 deliveries for 10 years.
Out of 1000s of items maybe 3 mistakes.
This is an astonishing achievement.
Of course the majority of Tesco stock is rubbish, and some is disgusting, like every chain, but that is not the local staff’s fault, and I try not to buy it.
I have time to check ingredients online, which is difficult in-store, deliberately obscure. Marketing 101: Half your customers are stupid, a quarter cannot read well anyway, and probably 90% of shoppers are swayed by emotion not logic. (See Politics 101.)
I don’t mind the horse-meat: it’s the additives and the palm oil, the added sugar and water that offend. Also plastic clothes.

Today I visited Tesco and was looking for a specific item I was excited to try. When I approached a member of staff for assistance, I was met with a dismissive and rude response. Rather than helping me locate the product, the employee made it clear that they had no interest in assisting me whatsoever. This kind of attitude is completely unacceptable, especially from someone whose role involves serving customers. I left feeling disrespected and disappointed. I expect a basic level of courtesy and helpfulness from staff, and this experience fell far short of that standard
Tesco Paul Street closed 30mins early on 31st night.
On 31st night I went to Paul Street Tesco, Cork, Tesco code 3505 for baby milk. They shut down the door 30mins prior the actual time. They were stoping people to get in store standing outside of the side door of the shopping centre. When I request them they replied there’s much people inside so they are not letting anyone in. They supposed to close at 8pm but they closed at 7.30pm. Tesco Supervisor and shopping centre Security was very rude.
Ignorant foxy member of staff
Just left the store in ballincollig what a nasty piece of work the ginger haired lady sticking her nose in at the till while I was been served ,was trying to explain to the nice lady serving me I was being overcharged ,but the till can't be wrong .let's see it started out at 36.50,I said to the lady that's wrong so she checked came back and it was the 12.69,I again explained to her it was still to much(math been my best subject in school]the real total was 11.51 including the bottle deposit[it was 9 pack of water 2.69,the ginger member of staff started to get all excited when I said it seems to be always the same when I come into this store ,the till is not right ,prices are not right ,she didn't like it when someone spoke to her and pointed out the obvious, started been cheeky said she was getting the manager, so to stop this in it's tracks I left as I had a sensitive purchase and felt very embarrassed, I will never shop in any Tesco again and will do my utmost to get my family and friends to boycott tesco .because people tap now they never know if the price is right and seldom check where does the law stand on this subject and what is the recourse to prevent large stores overcharging customers.

What a disaster Tesco had come to be, done my shopping today at approx 5pm in ballinasloe store,place was packed,and yet only one till open,same at Xpress check out, attendant was rude and obnoxious,and had no customer experience whatsoever, disgusting disgraceful, carry on from such a huge shopping chain such as this,to mean to pay for staff in my view, will never ever shop in this dump again, good bye Tesco, hello SuperValu.
Been left waiting for delivery twice…
Been left waiting for delivery twice and it never came.
First time they said the driver couldn’t find me, but they never even called to meet them.
Second time, the payment didn’t come through, I’ve got in the app and did the payment, it came through.
Hours later, Tesco app was showing that the delivery wouldn’t be done cause of payment issues.
Customer service was useless both times, not offering a new plausible time slot.

A really outstanding customer service from a lovely, kind, pleasant lady at Tesco Shopping Centre Galway on the Headfird Road. I could not access my club card and Yvonne, cashier at the Tesco clothes and Electrical was an outstanding help, charging my phone, so I coukd access y Tesco clubcard. I got this lady's name as Yvonne and I hope she is recognised by Tesco as a real example of the kind of customer service you simply do not get anymore. Thank you so much for making my day Yvonne.

Contacted Tesco to advise a product had been out of stock for a while and was advised it was not being stocked due to poor sales. They arranged for a delivery of the product to my local store and it arrived within 2 working days. Cannot ask for better service. Thank you so much

Security guard kick us out for no reason we try to go into the shop we did nothing we told them it wasn’t us. We didn’t do anything and we even said to check cameras in case they mixed us up with someone else they didn’t let us in and kick us out.
